was walking outside a couple of days ago to go to school and all of a sudden the air, temperature, just whatever, amde me feel exactly like i was walking down to the bus at a disney resort. then today, i get out at the mall and the feel of the heat and the asphalt made me feel just like i was walking down the street at mgm. does anyone else have these types of flashes or am i just having disney withdrawal fits because we are not going this summer?
let me know anything that has brought about a memory like that for you.

Everytime I wake up in the morning to all my Disney pictures in Disney frames! I want to be there so much! Luckily I'm sneaking in a day visit on Friday for my mom 's Mother's Day present!

Funny you should mention it. I was just flipping through my Disney World scrapbooks and thinking "I wish we were there right now!" The smell of swimming pool chlorine reminds me of the resort pools. Cotton candy, sun block...They all remind me of our home away from home!

Certain smells will trigger my memories of Disney. We have a cookie factory in our town (about the only thing here), Anyhow, it gives a sweet scent to the air, and it reminds me of Main Street

i can relate to the weather...walking into work some mornings, where i have to park quite a bit away from the facility, the sky is so blue and sunny, i flashback to mornings at disney.

otherwise, my disney scrapbooks bring back great memories and i still have to finish the last two trips, before we take off in november!

ahh, how i miss it!

The first time I tried "Juniper Breeze" body wash by Bath & Body Works was on a trip to WDW, so now when I use that, I instantly think of WDW. Also, the smell of pine trees and the song "When The Saints Go Marching In" from a trip when we stayed at POFQ!

I think there are a few other things that make me think of being there, but I can't remember them right now...I will post when I do. Of course, there's always playing my Illuminations CD! And our pitiful small town 4th of July fireworks always makes me wish I were there again.

I agree about the smells. Early in the morning as the sun comes up and the humidity is just right, there's a floral scent in the air and voila...I am right there:earsboy:

Well I posted on another thread but thought of another one. The Carribbean cool scent of some deoderants smells a lot like Florida, especially in the middle of winter when Florida weather is just a dream.

The smell of oranges reminds me of Horizons!

Also the smell of freshly baked bread reminds me of the Merita Bread factory in Orlando just off I-4. When I first started working for WDW I still lived in the dorms out at UCF and would travel past the bakery late at nite when they were baking bread on my way home from work.

This is kinda dumb, but everyday when I drive through the parking lot at work, there's a black Lincoln parked there that makes me think of the Tiffany Towncar!

Told ya it was dumb!

I love this thread!! Thanks for all the inspiration.

Definitely, certain weather makes me think of WDW--especially when the temperature is warm but dry and breezy (a rarity in the part of Florida where I live--we generally have very humid, still air).

Oh, and I forgot to mention--all the places in Epcot that sell wine by the glass sell really TINY glasses. So on the rare occasions I'm served a tiny glass of wine in a local restaurant, it makes me think of Disney ;) .

We have torches around the perimeter of our patio and whenever we light them at night, one of us says..."almost like the Polynesian". We love walking their paths at night with the torches burning. It's our little piece of WDW at home!

Whenever I stand in a queue line - I'm reminded of WDW! Also, the flagship store of Yankee Candle in Deerfield, MA always reminds me of Disney. It's the closest thing to having everything done "just so" like landscaping, store displays and friendly help like at Disney.

Right now it is my scrapbooking as I am working on my scrapbook from last vacation!

For me it's sometimes certian music played that reminds me, the other day I was at the mall, and they had a band playing there, something carribean, and it made me think of the World, and smelling someone's hot chocolate reminded me of the food court at ASMO.

We were at Lake Lanier Islands (Ga.) waterpark today for a Mother's Day special  and at the wave pool I was really hit by that Disney feeling! I even remarked to my DH —funny to see this cool thread this evening— hey, I feel like I'm at Disney World! (Watching those strange crystal-clear waves just transported me to that place where if it does not happen naturally, by golly, we'll figure out a way to make it happen!)

BUT I must say when we got ice cream at the waterpark and they charged $3+ for a tiny cone I felt more like I was at Six Flags, where we feel gouged for money more than at WDW. Most tourist destinations have high prices on food etc and of course WDW is no exception but I really do think WDW often does give you a better food value for your money than do some OTHER (lol) theme parks. Actually, my DH was the first to notice that! ::MickeyMo

We have a Rainforest Cafe locally and every time we are there I role play that I am at Disney (luckily DBF understands and plays along ;).) I always sit there and say 'so, are we going to see Spectromagic tonight or Illuminations?' I get such a kick out of it :) It's disappointing, though, to walk out and into a mall :(

Last year, on our first day at Epcot, my husband bought me a bottle of Burberry Baby Touch perfume at the shop in the UK pavillion. I wore it the rest of the trip, and have worn it almost every day since then. Every time I "spray and walk away", I am reminded of Disney World.

I am also reminded of WDW everyday due to the fact that when my DD (6) watches TV, she never wants to watch anything but the Disney Channel, and in the car, she never wants to listen to anything but Radio Disney. Of course, that's fine with me; I know I can trust the programming and (sshh, don't tell!) my husband and I kind of enjoy it ourselves!

OMG the other day I was in the stairwell of my dorm leaving for class and all of a sudden something in the air, I think it was a smell, made me think I was back in a WDW resort, none in particular. I have no idea why or what the smell was, it just reminded me of a WDW resort! Sometimes when I walk around campus the air makes me feel the same, but it's rare. There's nothing like a genuine trip to Walt Disney World!!
