everyday things that make you think of wdw

was walking outside a couple of days ago to go to school and all of a sudden the air, temperature, just whatever, amde me feel exactly like i was walking down to the bus at a disney resort. then today, i get out at the mall and the feel of the heat and the asphalt made me feel just like i was walking down the street at mgm. does anyone else have these types of flashes or am i just having disney withdrawal fits because we are not going this summer?
let me know anything that has brought about a memory like that for you.

Yes, the smell of peppermint! We were at the MK on a very hot August day, ( then again, are there any other kind of August days in WDW ? ). We walked inside the VERY COOL Main Street Confectionary shop and enjoyed not only the heavenly air conditioning but also the aroma of peppermint. Four years later, whenever I want to recall many wonderful memories and feelings about WDW, I simply open the lid of a peppermint candle and I'm there!

That happens to me a lot, especially with music. I'll hear something that reminds me of being in an attraction. Its always a good feeling!!!

alright, this one is gonna make you smile...... but i live in a kinda small town in indiana....... so it isn't often that you can find bathrooms that have sensor faucets and toilets....... so when I find a restroom that does all the automatically for me..... i feel like i am back in wdw........

I have alot of momentos in my house from WDW. Everytime I look at my front door rug I think of Morrocco in WS, everytime I look at the huge silk tapestry on my wall I think of the Lebanese exhibit that was at EPCOT for a short while. Everytime I see the frilly and feminine jewerly box I think of the Grand Floridian and my MOST favorite is, everytime I see the porcelain teddy bear on my bureau, I think of the time I was 10 years old and I wanted that Teddy sooooo bad, so my 15 year old brother held my hand and we went into the Magic Kingdom by ourselves and HE bought me that wonderful bear from Colonial Harbour House. Gosh, I love WDW so much!!!

Every once in awhile when we are outside my son who is 6 will say "mom it smells like disney out here".

My 8 yo DD made me a mother's day present at school of a pansy plant in a flower pot that she colored. When she brings it to me she says "Mom, smell the flower. It smells just like Disney after it rains!." And it did.

My family "kids" me all of the time about this...


We will be somewhere and I will say "Do you know what this reminds me of...?" And they all say..."Yes, we know...Disney World, or the Polynesian, or walking around Epcot"

Usually, it is a smell or music or a certain cool blast of AC when you walk in during the Summer.

Just yesterday, as I was making a Mother's Day post here, with a sound file, Brahm's Lullaby, the first few notes in the opening melody reminded me of the music from the current MK parade, Share a Dream Come True and also 'When You Imagine', from the 'Suite of Dreams', in the CD, 'Disney Magic in the Streets'.

hehe - same here! Everytime I have a toilet automatically flush for me I giggle and say - out loud - "I feel like I'm a Disney!"

I get strange looks at the mall restroom. heheh

Yes folks - a TOILET reminds me of Disney! hehehe

When I go somewhere that I see lots of beautiful flowers, I think of WDW. They always have so many outstanding flowers.

I posted this answer on a similar thread. When the sun is coming up, and it's humid with a floral scent in the air, it reminds me of early mornings at WDW. Many times I am up real early in the morning at WDW when my family and most other guests are still asleep. It's a trip highlight being there when it's serene like that.

I know this will sound weird...but the smell of diesel reminds me of WDW. I think it is the smell of the trams or busses. Whenever I smell it here, it immediately reminds me of Disney.

A certain temprature/breeze

I'm not sure what does it but I get a whiff of the Polynesian at times

We like to go to a restaurant called Smokey Bones BBQ and for some reason, it reminds me of WDW. I'm not even sure why. I just get a WDW'y feeling when I'm there. Maybe that is why we go so often.

Today the sky is a (rare for us) dark blue and it reminds me of Disney. I love looking at the sky there, it's always so beautiful.

Usually anytime I hear a large charter bus of any kind, it reminds me of Disney Transportation. I can remember in college when I was laying in bed by the window, I would hear public transportation buses outside, and dream of Disney....

Anytime I buy something and look into my wallet and see the bills disappearing so quickly, I feel like I'm at WDW!!

Everyday the first thing I see when I wake up is my lanyard full of pins hanging from my bedroom door. That makes me think of all the tough decisions there are to make at WDW
And whenever the Mariatchi (sp?) band is playing at the local Mexican restaurant that we go to a lot, it reminds me of WDW, because I have heard the Mexican groups playing in World Showcase.
