Actually, Uber is still slightly higher than a taxi, before tip.No, that is not still the case. They can do pick ups (limited levels of service) at MCO now. Lyft can not though, only Uber. When you go in to use the app it will show you the levels of service available. It's more than regular Uber but still considerably less than a cab or car service.
Apparently Uber is now charging flat rate fares in Orlando, based on expected mileage & current traffic. The app just quoted me $62.46 from MCO to Pop Century for Uber Select (the cheapest service available at the airport.) The rate will vary based on traffic and demand (formerly surge) at the time of the request.
The TaxiFareFinder web site estimates a fare of $59.88 before tip.
Now, if you believe that Uber drivers do not deserve a tip, then Uber will be cheaper.
