I had no intention of ever staying at non-DVC resorts(not a very good value) but I booked a 2 Bedroom at OKW and now my friend and her kids aren't going. I can't get most of the points back because they are borrowed. Have never stayed at the moderates but since I have to use these points wondering if it would be worth it just for the variety.

Can you try to get a 1 bedroom and stay longer or rent the extra points? No way would I trade a 1 or 2 bedroom for a moderate, even if the extra bedroom goes empty. You would be giving up the full kitchen, living room, laundry room, huge master bathroom for a small room with a tiny bathroom and no porch or balcony. Have you tried BWV or VWL, they are more points but would be different.

Can you change the reservation and use the borrowed points for it, and bank this year's points into next year? Not sure of your banking deadlines, as I don't know your use year.

I only have 24 points left from this year which means I would have to use remaining 111 before August 1. I could add Saturday night(was planning on staying in hotel ) and switch to a one bedroom at OKW for an additional 13 points. I may end up doing this. Do you think it is too late for June 1 Check in?

We have utilized our points for stays at "moderate" resorts a couple of times. We enjoy DL and CBR, although they don't compare to our home in OKW, and are not a good value availability was there on both occasions. If you do it, don't make the same mistake we did: Stopping by at your home resort, hard to beleive but we actually felt 'homesick" and really did'nt want to return to the moderate afterward.

We now have become more flexible with our dates and try to use the booking window effectively to avoid this happening again!
