I'm sooo tired this evening ~ between the DIS & Facebook...that's all that's keeping me awake tonight. So it got me thinking...

Have you ever fallen asleep & missed being Santa? What did you do? Did the kids find out? How do you recover from something like that?

:santa:

that was how my brother and i found out about santa when i was 7. my parents went to sleep without putting out gifts. we got up the next morning and it was barren underneath the tree. we then burst into their room crying hysterically because we didn't get so much as a candy cane and they jumped up like we set fire to the bed, sent us back to our rooms, and i promise you, you've never heard so much running back and forth, slam-banging around and swearing, lol. about 5 minutes later, they called us out and the tree was surrounded by gifts.
DH and i have managed to avoid this so far, but DD12 doesn't really believe any more-she just pretends to for our benefit, lol.

I put all the gifts out already...DS is still awake but he's not allowed downstairs. I told him if Santa sees a light on, he'll pass us by. I didn't want to fall asleep or something! IF by some chance he were to see the gifts...my plan was to say santa dropped them in the garage with a note that he had to come earlier than expected since Rudolph wasn't feeling well. Ahh I feel like such a liar

I won't sleep though I still have some cooking to :santa:

That has always been my fear, but it has never happened.

There's just me, but I've never forgotten to be Santa. The tooth fairy, though, seems to have a mind like a sieve. :rolleyes1

I am 22 and still to this day do now know how my mom does it. My brother is 13 and is the youngest so we don't have any believers at our house anymore, but my mom still says she believes. She still puts out milk and cookies.

I've come down for a glass of water or to let the dog out in the past couple of years at night and there are no presents yet. But we wake up in the morning and they're there!! In different wrapping paper and everything. My mom is the best!

Whew! Santa just made another successful delivery at our house! Off to bed, I managed to survive another year :thumbsup2

Merry Christmas All :santa:

No never, no matter how stinking dead tired and late it was.

Now my dd's are 13 & 18 so Santa is coming by at 6AM when I have my coffee.:rotfl:We just got home.

Santa has never forgotten, but boy the Tooth Fairy must be too busy some times :lmao:. I told DS when the tooth fairy didn't come once that he must have stuck his tooth too far back under his pillow, or it fell on the floor since she didn't come. Somehow...he believed it...

The tooth fairy never forgets at our house. ;) But she's sneaky sometimes and hides the money under the bed or deep under the covers.

that pesky tooth fairy. she can be so unpredictable!

i've never slept through santa though. i will say that i was dragging earlier tonight so i started consuming lots of caffeine! lol!

When I was 9 or 10, I woke up around 7am on Christmas morning and headed down the stairs. When I got to the living room, my mom was there, surrounded by wrapping paper, ribbons, and boxes, looking very sleepy and thoroughly disgusted. She looked at me, barked, "Go back to bed- Santa's still here!", and went back to wrapping presents.

I ran back upstairs, and didn't come back down for an hour or so. By then, I guess Santa had finished up and Mom seemed to be in a better mood!

You win for best story! OMG, I can just see your poor, frazzled mom!

My father, to this day, swears he was never the same after putting together all those bicycles in the unheated, uninsulated back porch at my grandparents' house in the middle of the night before Christmas!

Not I..but one time when my husband was little he ran out and there were no gifts under the tree.:scared1:
Luckily his mom and dad figured out that Santa couldn't get in the house for some reason and he left all the gifts in the trunk of the car.:rotfl:

ROFL! your poor mom! :lmao: i know her frustration-i wrapped all of our gifts, my mom's gifts AND my grandmother's gifts. if i never see another roll of scotch tape or bow, it'll be too soon!
