.Back when I used to work at Walgreens corporate office I met several famous people.
Walter Payton--former neighbor of mine but also came into work on occasion. He and his wife Connie were incredibly nice people. Connie still is.
John Madden-very nice guy
McLean Stevenson (from MASH--total jerk!) He actually snapped his fingers at me and told me to get him coffee. Not asked, TOLD.
Diahann Carroll-(actress from the 60's-70's). Pleasant but not friendly
Elvira Mistress of the Dark--Super nice, and NORMAL!
I used to babysit for some of the Chicago Cubs too.
There were a few others, but most of them were local Chicago celebrities that a lot of people may not have heard of
When I was a little girl Rick Monday was going to be my future husband, but then Ryne Sandberg took his place. Oh, and I also had a thing for another one, but I can't remember his name right now.
Unless your old like me you will not have a clue of who I am talking about but back in '77-78 I worked at a dry cleaners for a short time in a affluent small town in Connecticut and one of our regular customers was Mable Albertson, sister to Jack Albertson(chico and the man fame) and she played Darren's Mother in Bewitched.
She was a very charming poised woman, happy to chit chat and always drove herself to our establishment. She has long since passed on, but every fall I think of her because she once told me how she loved the fall that it made her feel alive![]()
). I didn't know she was his sister. At work I rode the elevator with one of the guys from the 80's group MENUDO. I totally freaked out since I used to love them. I work for a big bank and the guy is now in the financial industry.

(See Jeafl's MIL's Christmas threads if you don't know what I am talking about)

A fairly famous NFL player came in for Reading Week as a Guest Reader.
He showed up with a 5 car Escalade entourage in tow.
Sat down, opened up the book (this is for an elementary school mind you)
AND COULDN'T READ IT. Like listening to a kindergartener trying some new book for the first time.
It was painful.... even the kids were very uncomfortable.
He tried to get through 2 or 3 pages, then put it down and started talking about himself and his team.
