Ever Met a Celebrity at Work?

I worked for a restaurant in Raleigh and we used to get a few. Ive met Leon Spinks (really nice), Michael "let's get ready to rumble" Buffer (not so nice and a womanizer), Big Daddy Kane. I'm a big UNC fan and one night I waited on Phil Ford.... I almost had a stroke.

Just recently met Toby Mac (Christian Musician-hugely popular in that genre) when my DH did an interview with him at a concert. VERY NICE!!

And I don't know if this counts, but I met Howie from Big Brother in the airport at LAX. He was really nice, and loud, and "Howie". I wanted to meet Janelle but she was not there.

When I first started reading your post, I chuckled and thought it sounds like Bill Bonds. Once you mentioned Seger, that pretty much confirmed my suspicions.

I have met Bob Seger and he has always been down to earth and so incredibly nice. Huge fan!

I thought the same thing...now who here grew up in the Detroit metro area in the 70's and 80's...:rotfl:

Does Daughtry count? He used to work on my mom's car.

Debbie Reynolds, Ivana Trump, James Taylor & Danny Aiello.

Lots of sightings but they are the only folks I have actually met.

Okay one more but this isn't REALLY work related.

My boss just shared this story with us and we were all laughing, so I thought you'd enjoy it. He was driving to work on Ventura Blvd and this very, very slow Porshe was in front of him. He honked and did all of the things that SoCal people do when they are going to be made late for work. He finally gets around the slow Porshe all ready to show the driver who is number one, and it is William Shatner behind the wheel. :lmao:

I haven't met any celebrities at work :( but my mom has. She works at a casino so a lot of them are her customers. Shes met, the Backstreet boys, N*Sync, Paris Hilton, Andrea Bocelli, Celine Dion, Diddy, 50 Cent, Perez Hilton, a boxer (merriweather, something like that), Bon Jovi, Don Rickels.
Thats all I can think of.

Sure does!! How was he? I've heard he's kind of a jerk but I like his music:thumbsup2

He was great! But that was pre-Idol. I sold him a coffee maker once at Starbucks and he was super nice, very approachable, and that was Post-Idol. His drummer that he just fired was a jerk, but I know (knew) him personally. Rumor has it that's why he was fired. It's a shame too, he's an AMAZING drummer.

Darius Rucker from Hootie and the Blowfish (and how a Country singer) once was in the Amusement Park I worked at back in college. I didn't see him, though.

My mother also deals with a lot of celebrities through her job. She never talks about who she's met except on the rare occasion she'll mention someone was especially wonderful to deal with while we're watching them on television (Reba McIntyre, Michael Chiklas, Sandra Bullock). She never shares dirty details even though I'm sure has 'em. ;)
My uncle travels internationally for work and looks exactly like Andre Agassi. He once posed for photos at a sports cafe in Mexico with the workers. They did not believe him when he insisted they were mistaken so he figured what the heck... :rotfl2:

I'm loving all these stories! I'm star-struck but I've never met a celebrity anywhere. :sad1: Maybe some of the children I teach will grow up to be celebrities and I'll be able to say I knew them when!

I do have a few favorites that I have met though - my top 5 would have to be Keith Urban, Dennis Quaid, Garth Brooks, Edwin McCain and Olivia Newton-John. They aren't necessarily the most famous people but they were all very down to earth and fun to interact with.

:goodvibes @ Dennis Quaid... my mom also says he is great!

Back in college I worked in security at a defense plant and US Congressmen/women and US Senators would have to be escorted. Some of them later ran for President later. Most of them were self important jerks to us but a few were nice.

Politicians count? Well then I DID meet a celebrity, President Obama at a military event. But it didn't feel like he was a real celebrity.

When I was a suite hostess for a pro sports team back in college I met Billy Crystal, Drew Carey, President Clinton, and Charlie Sheen.

Not only have I met a couple..... I have seen them nekkid! :rotfl:

I work in a hospital. I was formerly an ICU nurse and now work in surgery so odds are if you meet me at work i'm about to see you nekkid. I have met only what I would call minor celebrities at work. Though we have had one or two bigger people come in!
