I look back at our last trip to WDW - mine and DH honeymoon 6 years ago!!! And I think gee I wish we had gotten more pictures of us together. This trip there will be more of us - our two kids, mil, fil, and my mom so we should get more family pictures than back then. I was always "afraid" to ask someone to take a picture. This time around I think I will be a little bolder and ask CM's - especially now that someone put the idea in my head ( never thought to ask a worker at WDW to take a picture...duh) When you look back at your vacation pictures what do you wish you had done differently? Any must take pictures other than the obvious...catle, etc? And I recently started scrapping so any other scrappers out there that have some must get shot ideas for the scrapbook, would be very helpful too... :flower:

When you visit Epcot, look for me and I'll be glad to take some pictures of you and your family anytime.

I'm the new Super Greeter for the East side of Future World. That's the Test Track, Energy, and Mission Space side). You'll find me walking around that area on Saturdays and Sundays talking with guests and assisting those who need help or information.

Have a safe journey to Orlando. We're looking forward to having you with us again.

I am never in the photos, since I'm the photographer!! So, with the new PhotoPass system, there is actually proof that I was there also. Be sure to use the PhotoPass photograpers. They will also take a shot with your own camera. I loved most of my photos taken by them. They are all over the parks. Then, when you get home, you can sit leisurely and review your photos on-line and then order what you want. I have to say that I spent much more on photos from WDW this way than I would have if I had to purchase them in the parks at the end of the day...seems that Disney isn't stupid when it comes to making more money.

Also, I used to feel funny about asking CMs to take photos too. Not anymore. Most are very happy to take 'family shots' for you. Those pictures are some of my favorites in my scrapbook!!

I am exactly the same. Though I wasn't all that keen on the family shots we did get from Photopass, it is a help! I actually found myself on my own a couple of times when characters suddenly appeared for meet and greets, and the CM handlers were always more than happy to take a photo. I hate giving the camera to my DH to take my photo as he is photographically challenged...really really badly. I was determined to take more picture in World Showcase this year, which I did, but I forgot to get more with the family in!! I scrapbook too, so I can understand what the OP is saying. I always wish I could have gotten some more photo's in V&A at GF, but I didn't feel it was fair to disturb the other diners.

Oh, I hope you're there in October!!!

I couldnt agree more with the OP - we went last July, dh then put his new camera in a "safe" place... :earseek: I then made a new ressie for Oct... then he found the camera... lots of pictures of wildlife... geckos, lizards, even a butterfly and a rabbit!! ummmmm its DISNEY :earseek: Lets take 2 cameras and pictures of US!! :rotfl2:

I also love seeing the pictures here on the dis so I can file those in my "I'm gonna do that too folder!!"

I know how you feel! I have fifty billion pictures of the castle and always a few of myself and husband. I feel weird asking other people to take picture. If someone asks us to do it first for them then I always ask if they'll return the favor.

I look at our scrapbook from two years ago and it is full of rides, castle, etc. and hardly any of the kids or us. I am determined to do better this year. I was so caught up in capturing the feel and excitement of Disney for the future when we were'nt there I completely lost sight of the whole reason we were there (our family!!). I did get some of the kids, but not near as many as I should have. I will do better, I will do better, I will do better! ::yes::

One thing that I do every trip is to take a shot of my dd in the exact same spot....it's fun to track her growth. It has been taken in one of the chairs in Minnie's house almost every single trip. Dd reminded me that we didn't do it last month...so, I'm going back this Friday so we can do it!! Just kidding....but we are going back on Friday since we got a terrific airfare and our APs expire on 8/15!!!

I wish that I took more pictures of the rides!!! It's so much better to make your family understand the magic of Disney. I also wish I had more picture of me and my bf.

In the real world we never buy professional photos and use a timer to get the whole family but, at WDW we buy the photos they take on the way into the park, if they come out well. I buy black mats and simple maple frames. We have a Disney wall of fame and it's wonderful to see us at different ages in those cut-above pictures. At AK, for example, there is the tree in the background and mickey and minnie are imposed on the corner in their safari outfits with the year printed in animal print. We are typically looking pretty good because, it's the am and we are not all sweaty and tired yet. This way there is a for sure record of every trip in plain site to admire every day.

Also, we do autograph books for the kids which I highly reccomend. We make sure to leave a blank page opposite the signature and glue a picture of the character with the kids into the book. I can not tell you how much we all love to go through the kids autograph books, it is the BEST!

Other than that, I purchased one of those scrap book kits for our photo album (I'm not a cutesie scrapbooker normally) and it really makes the Disney photos all the more special.

CM's are generally willing to snap a shot of the family, you really can't have enough of those since it is generally a pain in the butt to get it done.

Another great picture is that of the kids all passed out in bed after a good long day at the park. They are just so zonked, its funny!

I can't say there are any picks I wish we've gotten in the past, we seem to get them, DH is a big photo taker.

Eeyore - Will do my best to still be there. We'll be waiting for you.

Please ask, don;t be shy...we are there for you, our Guests :)
While passing through our area around Safaris, if I happen to spot someone posing their family for a photo (most commonly on the Warden's Post porch at the ride exit, or next to the jeep or the attraction sign in front) I'll stop and ask if they'd like me to snap it so they can be in the photo too. Sometimes the guest wants us to pose in the picture with their family or traveling companion. We're always happy to help. :sunny:

This is great to hear! I'm doing my first WDW trip this Sept 13-17 with my fiancee, so I'd love shots of us together :lovestruc

I actually get a fair amount of people asking me if they'd take my picture. I must look friendly! I don't mind at all.

When I need somebody to take our picture and I want to actually be in the photo, I always look for somebody with a "serious" camera hanging around their neck-nikon, canon, minolta.

Those people are going to know how to work your camera and how to compose it well.

Maybe that's why I got asked a lot-I used to lug around a monster camera until I came to my senses and got myself a teeny weeny super duper digital.

But the cast members are always cool about it, too, although we've had some rather odd photo compositions from them occasionally!
