I guess i don't HATE my job- I love what I do, I just really dislike the company I work for. But for some reason I am too lazy to send out resumes (despite checking job boards day after day). I guess I'm comfortable, and more than anything scared to go anywhere else. Afraid that my skills aren't up to par. Just gets me stressed out sometimes.

Sorry about that, just needed to vent a bit. Thanks for listening.

I do too feel just as you, but mine isn't my company it's my boss! More so his way of delegating the work. The amount of vacation time I have keeps my butt in the seat tho.

Hang in there!

I like what I do. It's just sometimes there is more work than the time to do it in (deadlines etc...).

I don't have anything to say about jobs, but I just wanted to say that I like your user name (see my tag :teeth: ).

I hate job worst then anything in the world. The management at HomeGoods is so stupid that it's funny.

The manager at HomeGoods does not know how make out scedule for the week.
Here example of my work

I get one day 3.30 a day and that's for a week.

What's so hard about give a person 4 hours.

Not's half of another week manger gives me a whooping 6 hours. But here the catch broke up into two days.

I would like to know how h*ll did she get that manager job she so stupid.

On top that there whole night staff quiet on them and walk out on them on a weekend they got fed up with mangement.

2 Full time people flat out quit.

They don't believe in promote from within.

When they had 2 management position came up 3 people with mangement experince apply.

All 3 us did not get. Told us that was did not have another experince. One lady had her own retail store for years. I am still trying figure out that out. That one did not makes sense.

They start everyone out with the same wage and does not pay for experince and have be there six months to get a rise but it only .25 cents. But do't excite because still less then 6.00 hour.

Never Never Ever go for work for TJ Maxx, Marshells, A.J. Wrights and HomeGoods.

I am stuck in situation which not good at the moment and can't found another job full or part time that it's drive me crazy.

If was not for summer that I had for 5 years I would not be making it. It is darn shame I make more on summer job then i do perement one.

I going to work for a local college concession stand manager during football season to make some extra money. I pray the ashtma hold for the season. Cold weather is trigger for me.

What do I hate about my job? That would be the teenagers and younger.

I don't hate my job but the worst two weeks of the year starts on Monday. I work at a community college and that is the start of fall semester.

Faculty forget everything over the summer and students HAVE to have a specific class that is now full even though they have been able to register since April.

<sigh> I always know if I can make it through these two weeks that the rest of it is just fine!

I love my job. The only thing I guess I could say I don't like about it is that I wish I was busier. I'm the type that loves to have a million things going at once. I'm very organized and a fast worker. Other than that it's the best!

I like my job some days and don't on others. I just take the good with the bad, decide that there is more good than bad, and go on my way.

I don't like my full-time job which is working for The Department of Family and Children Services. I can take people's children. I am thankful for it because it pays the bills. I do love my part-time job which is working for The Disney Store. My full-time job is very stressful and I have been to my doctor twice for it. I am sending out resumes. Please send out some prayers for me.

I can tell you why they only give you 3 1/2 hours instead of 4. When you work four hours you are entitled to a 15 minute PAID break. If you work less than four hours you get no break at all. That's pretty rotten, but they do that where I work too. I see quite a few 3 1/2 or 7 1/2 hour shifts just so they can avoid giving you that paid break.

As for my job, I just got a new one and I like it. The problem is the new job is working for the same place, just different department. Apparently I am so valuable to the old department (I hate working in there) that they still need me so now I am working both departments. Today and this weekend I have to do the crappy job in the old department. :( I don't wanna go!

I just keep telling myself the money is for Disney and it will be worth it in the end.

After years of working here, I decided I like what I do, I like who I directly work for, but I cannot stand the environment at times. So I really feel for you. Good luck :)

It's okay. I feel that way sometimes too.

I work for GREAT BIG MEDIA CORPORATION publishing division, and I kid you not, I am the only person in the entire company who does my job here.

On the one hand, I've been told that if they were ever to do layoffs, my job is quite secure since it needs to be done every day and no one, not my boss, not her boss, not HIS boss, literally no one knows how to do it. (The original person who started this position when they began using the software is no longer with us, before he quit he trained the guy who took over for him, and when that guy quit after several years , he sort of trained one guy who then trained me (partially as he was only a backup) and the rest I spent a good year figuring out on my own.

When I'm out, I have two assistants who sort of know the bare bones basics of what I do, but none of the details. I've tried training over 8 people(including the bigwigs) in the last 4 years but they always seem to "forget" since it's not their primary job function.

So anyway, it's nice being secure and I get incredible benefits, but the pay sucks (not just for me but for everyone in my department) and I have a hard time taking days off because I have to worry about catching up the next day because my assistants can only do the basic parts.

It's confusing I know. And sometimes it is REALLY aggravating.

But on the other hand, I realize that my idea of sucky pay and other people's idea of sucky pay may be quite different. I also realize that I get a lot of perks through my job (they pay for my horseback riding for pete's sake!) and am lucky to have nice people to work with and good health/eye and dental insurance. I also have no dress code, am encouraged to be "creative" with how I decorate my workspace, and they don't have a problem with internet use during work so long as I get done what I need to get done.

That's my advice to you. Think about the good things about your job. Make a list of them and then compare that to the list of bad things.

Sometimes the good things outweigh the bad.

Thanks Shelle&Dave for explaining that to me. Now gives me light on some things at the place I work.

Knowledge is power. I felt sorry for a employee when she went to management ask why they cuts there hours. Manager said to her that cut payroll budget. I pull the employee aside told her the real reason the manager cut hours so she can make budget so she get her bonus. The employee thank me for telling her.

I hate to say it, but I really don't like my job. :(

I didn't until I just found out they transfering the dept. to New Jersey. From Long Island it will be over 2 hours each way.!

I know the feeling but dont sell yourself short. Go out there and try for another job. I was recently misserable in my job and was offered my old job back and took it, at a cut in salary, just to be happier again. To the person who stays because of vacation time, if you are unhappy go try for another job and tell them you want more vacation. You never know until you ask and you may get it. I did.

MUFFYCAT - I am soooo sorry you have to commute to jersey. i have a hard time dealing with the what should be 20 min drive to my job ( don't you hate the LIE,NorthernState,SouthernState and meadowbrook during rush hour!!!!) I had a friend that commuted from wantagh to NJ every day. as first she didn't mind but she got burned out after 2 yrs and left the job all together. shes better off now.

I wish you all the commuting luck that is possible!!!!!
