Ever had a Bad character experience?

yup. they have to be small enough to fit into the costume. I remember when I worked at the Disney store. We had a character visit for the opening of our store and they flew up a character visit to promote it. We had Mickey and Minnie and it was 2 girls and they were so snotty! I remember them saying that they didn't want to touch the door handles with their white gloves and they did not want to stand in the back hallway waiting to come out because it smelled. But once they were fully in costume it was as if everything was fine with the world. Good thing they had those heads on. You could only imagine what their faces were saying underneath. 2 years later we had Aladdin, Jasmine and the Genie for another promotion. They were fantastic!!!!! loved them!!!!!

Yes, it really surprised me that they actually fly characters from FL to other areas for promotions and whatnot. The face character who I mentioned earlier broke character and chatted with DH and I about their experiences at Disney told us that. They were actually one of the characters who had visited special events. Pretty cool.

You molested a munk?~? HOW DARE YOU!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

hahahah... monk molesting is a felony you know.. thats too funny..I can laugh, I molested yogi bear a long time ago, unintentionally of course (thats my story and Im sticking to it). This was about 15 years ago when I was a young thing..not married and on vacation with boyfriend and freinds. We had just came out of the yogi bear ride at universal and you go through yogis cave. There was what appeared to be a pretend yogi sitting in his cave against the wall. I swear it was absolutley motionless. Me and a girl friend decided to take a couple of funny pics for back at the office...(wrong I know..remember I was young)..anyway here we are taking turns to sit on yogis knee doing slightly naughty poses , nothing very bad(there was only us two couples in there)..my friend even..omg I cant believe this...she lifted her top while sitting on yogis knee for the photo, (im shaking my head just thinking about it) I did the big kissy face pose on him...anyway we get up to leave .....and so does yogi, we both screamed..it scared the bejeses out of us!!! we really didnt know there was someone in there..honest!! Anyway my boyfriend whos now my hubby still reminds me of the day I molested yogi bear.
:goodvibes

I bet Yogi had some stories to tell when he got back home
:rotfl2::rotfl2:
You know it was a man too!! A lady would have made SOME kind of motion :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

My DH and I were having dinner at the Garden Grill in the Land Pavillion in Epcot several years ago when Mickey & Minnie (after making their rounds) went up to a table that obviously were also cast members, when Mickey & Minnie started interacting with the cast members verbally! :scratchin There was a private joke of some sort going on and the costumed M & M were laughing and literally rolling on the floor :rotfl:trying not to laugh & talk out loud but they did. I was very disappointed with the entire group of cast members. Especially Mickey & Minnie. That experience has never left my mind and kind of spoiled the "innocence" of the characters.:worried:

Well I never had a bad expereince like you. Once I listened to a private comment by some charectors which I dont remember their name. The jokes lit up the whole evening of mine. I had eral good fun recalling their joke

I have a picture of my family al lined up for a photo with Goofy when I was 12, and he is standing on my foot and I'm looking down and frowning.

Im sorry but you cannot be serious...hurt her back or something???? Enough of the hero worship and lets get real here, yes there is a real person in front of her that I might remind you should be doing her job...if she dosnt like it she should go work in wallmart stacking shelves at night. There are a million kids that audition every day just waiting to step into her shoes for that job all be it low payed or not. Its her job to be NICE at all costs even if there is a snotty nosed spoiled brat wanting a photo with her ( no offence ment to anyones kids here). What she did was out of order and wrong, I completely agree with the lady when she commented about if she wanted to keep her job etc...some people save up a lifetime for vacations and only get that one shot to make their kids dreams come true. It certainly should not be spoiled by a "princess" just because she is having a bad day. And yes mabey she didnt want to bend down for fear of exposing herself...she could have hunched down or something like it. I run a wedding business and even on the days where I am not feeling myself or a bit crabby, I still make the effort to be considerate and nice to all my brides, why?? because its my job.

It is not" hero worship." I just undestand that there is a real person behind the princess, not a puppet who needs to be told how to move, or someone to make nasty comments to. I hardly think a princess not bending down could spoiled anyones day.

If any of the princesses say anything inappropriate, or are rude, then yes, people have a right to complain. But a princess not bending over? Come on! If that is all it takes to ruin your vacation, then you need to check yourself.

It may be a princesses job to be "nice at all costs" but it is not her job to be ordered around. Demanding that she stand a certain way, or bend down for you sounds demeaning to me. I wouldn't want to be treated that way, so you can bet I sure don't treat anyone else that way.

I was semi assaulted by Minnie at Disneyland in February 2008. She was without a character attendant near the front entrance and it was a tad warm that day. She kept moving the line back so that she could be in the shade and when it was our turn she waved her hand to say hurry up, even though we were waiting for the other family to move out of the way. My friend tried to link arms with her and she pushed her arm out of the way, and as I was saying thank you and began to walk away she pushed me hard on the shoulder. To this day I'm not sure if it was to say a sarcastic "thanks for taking your time" or a "OMG run and get help I'm going to pass out." I still have no idea why character attendants are not that prevalent at DLR. I saw Minnie and Mickey running scared near Space Mountain that trip too because they were alone.

Who said her not bending down ruined my entire vacation:rotfl2: I think the topic was have you ever had a bad character experience~ not has a character ever ruined your vacation? :rotfl2:
Yes the princesses WERE rude at CRT~ there were many peeps who did complain to the handler so I saw no reason to add to it! Yes, Jasmine was completely out of line with her comments to my DD. I was also very good to note that on our return trip 4 months later~ all new princesses and they were soooo beyond sweet!!
ERR sorry you got so worked up over my princess experience :rotfl:

Oh and if you saw my pics~ the bending down to speak to a child wasn't a problem 4 months later lol

I dont think we have ever had a bad experience at Ohana's DD slipped through Pluto's legs and fell on her butt, but she was ok and pluto was looking up to pose and she was not paying attention, lol, so it clearly was an accident. DD still loves Pluto.

But I will say we had good interaction with the characters that day at Ohana, we were one of the last tables for breakfast, characters came around twice. DD was dressed as Lilo (I won her dress on Ebay so they matched) and she had a Lilo doll b/c this is my DD FAVORITE Disney movie. So her and Stitch "surfed" and Lilo did the hula with DD. Mickey was very sweet with her! It was her first meeting with the mouse and he was just so good to her. I was a bit embarrassed though as Mickey was greeting my sis, DD started to pick her nose, Mickey saw this and began to pick his as well. Very funny but you know haha.

Also...we had a wonderful princess interaction while visiting the world of disney in NYC. Snow White was just wonderful to DD. She asked her to spin in her dress, and i have the cutest pic of the two of them spinning in their dresses together. Sleeping Beauty was also very nice too, but Snow White made DD feel very comfy, as she is a very shy little girl. She was very soft spoken and kind. They spent a good 5 minutes with her too.:thumbsup2:

I am DYING over the Yogi bear incident.

At another site, everyone says that CP has the best interaction ect. You guys dont seem to agree. Im tempted to cancel it........./ opinions? (we are going ONLY for the character interaction, not teh food)

When ever I go to Disney I'm scared the characters won't pay me and my roomie any mind b/c we are two 21 year old girls but its never the case I always have great character experiences. Some of my funniest character moments have been:
1.) Stanley signed my autograph book with his name, a heart and his phone number... he got yelled at for "flirting" with older women
2.) King Lou played peek-a-boo with me, then started rubbing his butt up against mine to dance
3.) My roommate, who is always the photographer and doesn't interact w. characters, was taking my picture with Anastasia and Drizella while wearing a Red Sox shirt. When they saw her shirt they demanded she pull up her pant legs so they could see her socks... when they saw that her socks were white they "yelled" at her about how it wasn't lady-like to be a liar .... roomie was sooo confused I had to explain to her after that they were mad b/c she didn't have on red socks!

That sounds like something stupid my mother would do :lmao:

Mickey's a GIRL???:scared1:

Not at all! Mickey is obviously a boy. ;)

I have long felt that character handlers have one of the mose difficult jobs, and probably deal with the most abuse from guests (as sad as that is!) Thank you for being one of those people who did a very hard job:hug:

There can be difficult moments. But the good ones far outweigh the bad ones.

Anyone here remember the lawsuit involving Tigger supposedly punching some kid? It was all over the news back in Jan '07. We were in Disney at the time and had seen that very same Tigger at DHS that day, so needless to say we were very intrigued by the news!

I do. I'm good friends with Tigger.

Not joking when I say this:
At a breakfast @ 1900 Goofy grabbed a hand full of my ****. I have photo proof. I have to say if it was winnie the Pooh i might have been angry. But not goofy. I think I wanted more.

We had an Ariel a couple years back that overheard where a family was from and then started chatting with them out of character and loudly about the town (I think it was in Illinois?). I imagine it's hard to resist when you meet someone from your town but still, there was a line full of kids behind these people who could hear everything. :sad2:

awww :sad1:

At least it wasn't a character in a costume like Mickey, right?

Had a bad character meal once. Donald's Safari Breakfast. What a joke. Each character spent about 3 seconds at our table.
