Ever get your cats shaved?

I don't get it. Why get a long-haired cat if you cannot manage to maintain that beautiful coat? If you have to resort to SHAVING your Persian/Himy/whatever, then why get a long haired cat at all?

as others have stated - because there are cats out there that need homes - why deny them one over something as silly as shaving/not shaving....and very often they "find" us rather than we pick them!!!!

I can see why some long hairs might need shaving but that cat in the picture looks ridiculous. I wouldn't go near it at least not while it had that expression!
