Ok, we wanted to cut down on the cat hair in the house. We took our cats to the groomer yesterday and had their hair cut--the lion's cut. They look so cute!! BUT, now they hate each other. I have never heard so much growling and hissing. They used to love each other. They are sisters from the same litter. They don't attack each other thank goodness. Is this normal and will it pass? We are wondering if they know each other now that they look so different. Anyone with experience on this?

"Seeing you just reminds me how ridiculous I look!"

post a pic please!

I have taken some pictures of them but I don't know how to post them. I did post a picture of a shirt a LONG time ago but I don't remember how I did it.

My cat was done on Tuesday.. He also got the lion cut..He is so adorable...I can not stop petting him..He is an orange tabby, who came to our door 2 years ago, and we adopted him... The only sad part is you see his abuse scars :sad2: , and I have trouble looking..

I love them shaved.:)

Yikes!! I've never even HEARD of shaving a kitty! Ooooh...somehow I can't imagine trimming my cat's fur. Granted she needs brushing and does shed <sigh>..but gee...I wonder how they feel after shaving? I guess this is no different than dog grooming? Cats just seem so darn sensitive.

My cat is a persian and has been shaved once, I actually think he might prefer it for the summer, so I am thinking of taking him again, but the groomer told me when I picked up the dog, I could either just do his belly and they could just thin him out the rest of the way too, So I am thinking of it, The vet told me it is good to have them done every couple of years when they are hairy like that because it helps to keep them healthly.

Excuse me while I run upstairs to tell dh I'm scheduling the cat's appointment to be shaved:lmao: I'm sure he'll start the process of having me commited for sure!:rolleyes1 Again, I am so amazed that this is done!! Where have I been that I don't KNOW this???

I guess you've been living under the same rock as me!!!

(I've had many cats & never heard of this)

I had a Persian many years ago that we had shaved because of knots in her belly hair. She loved to flick her tail and after she was shaved it totally freaked her out to see that long thin "hairless" tail coming her way. She would literally hiss at it and run tearing around the house. Never was the same again.:sad2:

We had one of cats shaved last year. When we brought her home our other cat kept her distance for awhile.

Dh was just saying yesterday that we need to take them both in this time.

After my knee replacement, I wasn't able to brush Euri (long-hair) like I used to. Before I realized it, she had developed some NASTY mats on her back. The groomer wouldn't touch her because the mats were so close to the skin, so I had to take her to the vet. She looked pretty funny for a while (think golf course with the shaved areas being the putting green), but it eventually grew back.

We used to take Stinky Stan to the groomer to be shaved every three or four months. He was an abused stray that we adopted and he never learned to groom himself so he became smelly and matted even though we brushed him. He was aggressive toward our other cats so they wouldn't groom him, either. He had beautiful, rich black fur with a white chest and paws and they always gave him the "Lion" treatment, too. None of our other cats ever needed to be bathed or shaved.

WOW...That is too shaved IMHO..Looks mean...

My cat is similar, but orange tabby, and has the lion cut, but with more hair..
