We have 12 days until we leave for Disney and I already have butterflies in my stomach. I am having a difficult time falling asleep worried about having everything packed, the flight, making sure our agenda has all the must-see & must-dos, what if I forget something important?, and the excitement of sharing this trip with our two (foster) daughters. Our little family, DH, DS (8), and I have been to Disney a number of times now but this trip is very special as we are sharing it with our girls (Princesses). :goodvibes Does anyone else have this exaggerated excitement? What can one do to soothe the butterflies? Or sleep better? Another feeling is that all the planning is coming to an end - the trip will FLY by (great times, I know, I know!) and I will be sad that the trip is over. Pathetic, huh??? I am already trying to plan our next Disney trip to eliminate the after-Disney-trip-blues. Ugh... am I the only ridiculous one out there? Please someone tell me that they have these same feelings! I may need a detox or 12 step program. :teeth:

I don't care how many times I go or how many I have planned, I still get the vacation excitement giddies. I have them now, I'll have them when we go in November and I'll have them again in December. We are a Dis-a-holic family and we take our giddies very seriously. Welcome to the club. You are in excellent company and in excellent health. :thumbsup2

I am leaving in 12 days... whooo hooo! Can't wait. I planned and planned made sure everything was taken care of, now, I feel paralyzed. Like I have no time and so much more to do. I too am thinking oh no, a month from now I will be home from my disney vacation. I think I better start planning our next trip. Feb is looking good, I always love going in Feb. Hmmmm. When is school vacation again. :cheer2:

You make me smile!

I dont understand it .. a friend of mine was over yesterday and they are taking their two sons 6 and 9 in early October (3 weeks). I asked her if the boys are getting excited for their trip- no- and she doesnt even think about it and wont until the week of when she decides to pack. :confused3 ..I think of our trip every day and it is not until January!

I usually have to take cough medicine to sleep before I leave. because i am so excited

Yes, but it's a great feeling.

I don't think it's strange at all. This is probably really weird, but what helps me sleep is carrying my Disney list around when I'm awake. I'm always thinking about the upcoming trip so I'm not worried because when I think of something I just add it to my list. Mind you we are leaving in 14 days and I've been carring this list around for at least 2 or three weeks before that! :rotfl:

I always get excited about vacations, I love planning them for months, making lists, checking out all there is to do. It's the one thing I really look forward to. Try to push out those thoughts of it being over, just keep thinking about seeing the happiness on the faces of your little ones. And what wonderful parents you are to take them on such a fun, memorable trip.

If you start to come down just before the trip, don't worry, once you are on your way, you'll be back up again. Just enjoy each day & I hope you all have a great time. :goodvibes

I am with you.... My mom and I go crazy and we dont leave for another 30 days.. and my DF looks at me like I am a nut...

Oh you are SO not alone! I just booked the trip a week ago & have lived & breathed Disney ever since. I downloaded the AK park music on here & have it looped to play continuously - people think I'm a nutcase when they hear it playing through the house! This last week I've been known to actually neglect the house & family because I'm so deep into the DisBoards - missed bus pick up last week one day ("Whose kids are sweating & dragging themselves across the lawn??? OH MY they're mine!") Today I burned the meatballs, DS age 6 had to come tell me he smelled something burning. Now that is BAD! I truly get OCD about Disney to the point of it being a disorder! The DisBoards make me feel like I'm not alone! 77 days & counting!!

I've got it too- whatever "it" is. We should think of a name for it. Dinseyholic isn't quite right, b/c its not just the place or company I'm addicted to, but the planning of the trip. My favorite part is figuring out where to eat, and which parks to go to when. I spend hours pouring over menus and I even made a color coded calendar for next year with the different season rates, holidays, even when daylight savings starts and ends. I know I'm not the only one- I've seen people asking to download spreadsheets for various things, we should definately think of a name for this. We are going in October and I am already planning for March. I have to pace myself though- I will need something to do in January.

I'm new here and the information that I have gotten from this site every night is just the greatest. I think it's weird if you don't get the pre-disney belly bugs. The day after the suitcases were unpacked I was online checking out prices for our next vacation. We aren't leaving until January and I am panicked that we won't have enough time to eat in our connecting city Denver!! We only have 50 minutes does anyone know if there are any quick restaurants near the united gate?

No fear, I too suffer from Disney exstacy addiction. When I go to book my vacation and place my deposit I have to wear my depends!!! :rotfl:

I need a designated driver to take me to the AAA office when making my reservations!

Upon returning I must bee line it to the boards to share my delight.

A sign I amy be having problems controlling this addiction is when no one is permitted to make ADR's except me!

I have a stash thats right I do of all my paraphenelia of disney, pamphlets, travel guides and of course my secret phone book with all my connections phone numbers. My resort the dining tlele# with each restaruants number as well! Of course you may be wondering it is a lime green phone book!

OK I may need help , so I am have to attend meetings : That would be held in Disney right??

MY the detox, that would be on premises at Disney right??

One question though, do I need to make ADR's for the Disney detox????? :confused3

Nine Days! :cool1: The flutterbies in my belly are multiplying! :rotfl2: Its a new form of ADD - Addicted Disney Diva that I am. :bride: Sad but I think my friends and family will be so happy when we leave... they are sick of hearing Disney talk. :confused3 What is wrong with them? Thank you all for responding and letting me know that I am in good company in my mania. NINE DAYS!!!! Woo Hoo!!! :cheer2: :woohoo: :bounce: How many hours is that? Okay, gotta find my calculator NOW! :yay: Too much Disney energy running through my veins!

You are not alone and you are in great company!

How is this for crazy... my computer reminded me last week that my password will expire in 14 days...which happens to be the day that we are leaving for Disney! I refuse to change my password so that it will keep reminding me! I have my own personal little computer countdown. :rotfl:

Hello everyone!!!!! I know i know I dont' want to sond like Im bragging but I got to disney 2 twice a year once with the family and once for girls only long weekend!!!! And I am leaving a week from today on the 27 and I am allready sad about coming home :sad2: . I love to go but when I have to come home I cry yea I cry in the airport and most of the way home. For me who has some health issues I think being in disney helps me forget the pain Im in. Excited. We never get excited about Disney. Last Dec when we went DD was so excited the day before she actually got physically sick. We ended up spending our evening in the After Hours Clinic waiting to be seem. Dr looked her over and couldn't find a thing wrong. Said it was probably just all the excitment. We had a great trip and it was so worth it. Now I can't wait to go back.
