Ever, Ever After: The TR Formerly Known as Wishing You Were Here- May 2011

Who needs a playground when you have perfectly good stairs??? :confused3 :lmao::rotfl2:
It really is kind of funny how they find some of the simplest things just fascinating at that age. I guess that's all part of exploring your surroundings and learning how things work.

It looks like a fun start. Good thing for a walk-on ride at Triceratop Spin. I'm glad that Carter seems to be acting like the responsible big brother and cooperating with you so far.:thumbsup2

Glad to see that Landon was doing well and practicing his stairs skills...though I can see why that one corner of the playground would get boring real quick...but somehow kids find the strangest things the most entertaining :confused3

Landon noticed that he was the only one riding and wanted to know why I'd even had him if I just wanted to be mean to him all the time.

I told him we weren't going far, but he insisted it was baby cruelty.

"Okay, Landon. We're going to go play now."

I got him out and he said it was about time. The three of us entered the Boneyard.

:lmao: This has to be some of the funniest writing I have seen in trip reports. Poor Landon being stuck in the stroller all the time.

The boys look like they are having fun on the stairs. Can't wait to see what they pick to play on next.

Uh-oh, the fact that you took the time to mention him looking sick, and your replies to others... I have a feeling you are going somewhere with this.

On our first trip to Disney with the boys, Evan was 18 months old at the time, and had some recent ear infections. I could see he was pulling at them again, and quickly went to the Dr before we left. I was told he just had fluid in his ears, but they weren't infected. It wasn't our regular Peditrician as she wasn't there that day, and this one didn't leave me with a good impression. A few days later, in Disney, he had an ear infection.

Yes, WDW is definately better with healthy, happy toddlers!

Of course they would like the stairs! At least they were safe playing on those stairs. I don't miss the days when I had to follow their every move. Every age has it's pros and cons of course.

I can completely see in the pictures what you meant by his eyes...he does look like he's not feeling the greatest! I could always tell with Jasmine...first of all she was snuggly and she would have that "look" in her eyes!

Love the stairs pictures...it's funny how they find enjoyment in the things we find quite boring:lmao:

First of all, nice job remembering that phone call...the Mickey heads everywhere! :lmao: Although, Disneyworld really is out of this world for people who aren't really Disney people!

I hope Landon doesn't end up sick.

And, yes, when you have a preschoolers the Boneyard rules! Max loved it and I think he would have stayed there all day if we had let him. :lmao:

I thought that phone call was really funny when I heard it. I think it stuck in my head because there was no one there to laugh about it with at the time. I wonder why so many people come to Disney World when they clearly aren't Disney people.

Me, too. :)

The Boneyard is such a cool playground. I love letting the boys run around there. I'm not a bit surprised that Max loved it, too. It's funny that out of everything at Animal Kingdom, nothing beats the Boneyard for little kids.

Oh no, I didn't even think about you not being able to ride Everest. That makes me sad for you:rotfl:

it's crazy hoeany people head for the safari first thing. We went straight there while chris grabbed a fp and the line jumped 20 minutes in that time!

I don't envy you with the stair climbing. That's one stage that both bored me and made me nervous!

Hope Landon is alright!

I was only a little sad about missing Everest. I've sort of accepted that I may not get to do very many thrill rides at Disney for a few years. It's just nice to have the option of doing a Baby Swap.

I guess everyone knows the animals should be most active in the morning. I find the Safari line one of the most tedious to wait in. When the line is long, it seems to take forever.

I'll be really glad when they're both past the fascination with stair climbing. It makes me nervous, too, and it requires constant vigilance, yet up and down over and over gets so old after a few times.

Who needs a playground when you have perfectly good stairs??? :confused3 :lmao::rotfl2:

Exactly. :lmao: I'm not sure the boys appreciated the cool theming of the area. A nice set of stairs and they're good to go. I suppose to babies, everything is new and exciting. Landon probably thought he was a grand rock climber.

I was glad we got to walk on Triceratop Spin. I knew the boys would love it, but I also knew if there was any line at all, they'd never be able to wait quietly. Carter is usually very motivated by the idea of being my helper and being more mature than Landon. :rotfl:

Glad to see that Landon was doing well and practicing his stairs skills...though I can see why that one corner of the playground would get boring real quick...but somehow kids find the strangest things the most entertaining :confused3

There was a whole big playground to enjoy, but their favorite was probably that little corner with the stairs. Go figure. If only Landon hadn't have wanted to do the stairs, I would have sat right at the top and stayed there a long time.

Thanks! Landon has a way with words, doesn't he? :rotfl:

They were having a lot of fun on those stairs. I'm not sure why, but they seemed to love it.

They are so curious at that age. I hope Landon isn't coming down with something :sad2:

They sure are curious at that age. Curiouser and curiouser. I hoped he wasn't coming down with anything either.

I may be going somewhere with it...:rolleyes1

That's awful, that the doctor you saw before the trip said Evan's weren't infected and then they were later. I wonder if he had the ear infection the whole time. I hate taking my kids to doctors who don't seem to get them. It's such a shame you had to waste Disney time with an ear infection.

I'm really hoping for two happy and healthy boys on our October trip.

I'm just glad Landon had finally started going feet first down stairs. For the longest time, he'd just dive off head first, as though he thought he was made of rubber and could bounce down then stairs. I've always been quick enough to catch him, luckily. I think it will be nice when they're big enough not to be watched every single second of the day.

I can completely see in the pictures what you meant by his eyes...he does look like he's not feeling the greatest! I could always tell with Jasmine...first of all she was snuggly and she would have that "look" in her eyes!

He doesn't look too good, does he? I don't think Landon is extra snuggly when he gets sick, but that sounds more pleasant than being extra grumpy. I wish they never had to get sick.

I told Landon the other day that a time would come when he would find climbing the stairs to be boring and no fun at all and he'd only do it when he had to, but he didn't believe me.:rotfl:

Great report! I hope the little guy is ok!

I have the same purse and i am very over protective too!

Lisa

Can't wait for the next chapter!

Also, let your boys know that I have two beautiful twin girls who would make super cute babies in a few *twenty-five* years or so lol

Thanks! Landon's pretty tough, so I knew he'd be fine, one way or another.

Isn't that a great purse? It's so beautiful and it has so many Disney things on it. I hope it lasts forever. :goodvibes

I'll probably get the next chapter up soon. :)

I told my boys and they said to tell your girls "How you doin'?" :rotfl:

I have devoured both of your TRs and thoroughly enjoyed them both. We have two little ones, too, and I often wonder what it would be like to fly solo with them. Seems like you are handling it with aplomb! By the by, I am not certain if I ever commented on your previous TR, but I think my two-year-old daughter and I ate lunch right near your guys at Flame Tree in December (we may have even given you our high chair when she finished with it) -- It's a Small World After All.

Awww, poor Landon, stuck in the stroller all day! :rotfl: The Boneyard looks like a great place to hang out with kids! I honestly don't even know where it is in AK, I've only been to Dinoland once!

Poor Landon, always has to ride in the stroller! ;) I guess I'm lucky that Everett loves his stroller and is really good about riding in it. Although, that could change at any moment! :)

So funny that they were having a blast on the stairs. We had a similar issue of getting "stuck" in one area of the boneyard. Its amazing what toddlers find fascinating. There is this whole wonderful playground to explore, but nope, they are happy on the stairs!

I hope that Landon does not end up sick.

Kate, you had me in tears from laughing so hard. I just love the way you tell a story.

I'll pass on the message in the morning ;)

It's going to have to be Evie with Landon and London with Carter. Because Landon and London is just a little too much ;)

I just read all of your updates! I haven't been on DIS in a while because work was so crazy, and I started papercrafting (cards, scrapbook pages). I was just taking a break online before heading to bed, so I clicked on the trip report forum to see if there was a new TR I could start. That's when I saw your name and remembered that the last time I was here, you were planning this trip! Glad I'm here now. I've missed your story telling and your boys' adorableness, :thumbsup2

poor Landon, he has a hard life with such a cruel mommy. :rotfl2:

You have to keep these reports to show them later, I am sure they would love to read them and see all the cute pictures.

Hi! Thanks for reading! I thought it was a really fun experience to be on my own at Disney for a couple days with the boys. I'd gladly do it again. How funny that we were both at Flame Tree in December. Wasn't that a beautiful day? I do remember someone giving us a highchair, now that you say it. It was sometimes challenging to find two highchairs on that trip, so thanks!

Awww, poor Landon, stuck in the stroller all day! :rotfl: The Boneyard looks like a great place to hang out with kids! I honestly don't even know where it is in AK, I've only been to Dinoland once!

Don't feel too sorry for him, I'm pretty sure he was exaggerating. :rotfl: With kids, the Boneyard is the place to be. Without kids, there's no reason to ever go there. Of course there's plenty of other things to do in Dinoland. Don't you all like Dinosaur?

Poor Landon, always has to ride in the stroller! ;) I guess I'm lucky that Everett loves his stroller and is really good about riding in it. Although, that could change at any moment! :)

If Everett had a slightly older brother who got to walk instead of riding, he might feel quite differently about his stroller. :rotfl: I hope Landon improves his riding skills by our next trip. I think he should do better, now that he actually can walk.

I'll be so glad when they are both old enough to be fully competent on playgrounds. It would be the nicest thing to be able to take them to the Boneyard and just sit back and relax and hang out with Jeremy and let the boys run wherever they like. :thumbsup2

I hope that Landon does not end up sick.

Kate, you had me in tears from laughing so hard. I just love the way you tell a story.

I hate it when either of my boys is sick. Once one of them gets it, it's usually just a matter of time until the other has it, too.

Thanks! A TR writer is always pleased to hear her work is appreciated.

I agree, Landon and London would not be the best combo. :lmao: I actually knew a couple once named Heath and Heather, but Landon and London might be worst.

Welcome back! I'm glad you found my TR! It's hard to find time to DIS sometimes. I figured you'd be busy with wedding plans and stuff. Papercrafting sounds fun. All Disney themed, of course? :rotfl: Thanks, I think the boys have a bit of adorableness going on, too.

I know, Landon has it very rough, all right. :rotfl:

I hadn't considered showing these reports to the boys someday. I wonder what they would think of them. I bet I would like to have them anyway. It would be fun to have them when the boys are all grown.
