Ever done a time share presentation for a cheaper vacation?

Would NEVER to a Westgate - heard too many horror stories about them.

This is the one we were on that I mentioned in an PP. They shuffle you from building to building and room to room and then shove you out the door and you have no idea where you are. They wouldn't even tell us (when they shoved us out the door with no door knob to get back in) what direction the building that we first arrived at was so we could find our car. TOTALLY rude in my opinion especially since we had two very small kids with us. I just sat on the curb with the kids while DH went to look for the car.

I've done at least 20 in the past 10 years. They don't bother me at all.

We've done a few of these. DH doesn't like them but will go along if the offer is right. Only had one rude salesman ever. That was at the Westgate Smokey Mtns in Gatlinburg.

We have one scheduled for March. I'd been looking for an inexpensive way to add two nights onto our week stay at Vistana because DS's school is going to be marching at Universal. Hotels were coming up pretty expensive. I found a deal to pay $59 and get $50 back in a Bass Pro Shop gift card. We shop there once in a while or you can use it in their restaurant. Two nights for $9 and they "upgraded" us to a 2br unit at the resort we'll be touring.

We also toured Orange Lake in October to get $100 Universal bucks. I used them to buy 2 2-day tickets for my college kids with my AP discount.

Our tours are usually painless after I tell the salesman we own six weeks, which is at least two weeks more than we have time to use every year. We have to rent or give away some of our time and need to sell a couple of them.
All our weeks were bought resale for far less than developer prices.

I am not meaning to hijack your thread and I hope no one minds my asking:flower3: , but, how do you find out about these timeshare offers?
