Ever change your name on Magicband?

was just wondering if anyone ever did names other than what you go by? maybe nickname, a disney character
anyone ever done this for the personalization ?

Yes I just did this for our upcoming trip. My nickname amongst friends is Queenie and that is exactly what is on the inside of my newest magic band!

Other than our first set of bands, none of us has ever used our real names on our bands. No one ever sees what you put on them but you. When your band is scanned, the name that is displayed is your official MDE name, not whatever you put on your band.

oh thats really cool to know! I'm trying to convince my family to switch names lol

none of our MBs have our real names on them. Sometimes we do themes - for one SWW set I was R2-D2, DH was Yoda and DD was Ahsoka. Other times it is just whatever strikes us - one of mine reads Harambe another WExplorer (Wilderness Explorer) - it's fun to spend some pre-Disney time deciding what to put on our bands. As Jtown mentioned the CM sees your 'real' name on the screen

3 of our 5 are totally made up, by us. My daughters and I had fun with it. Mine is MagicMan this trip. My wife's and son's stayed their real names since that's what they wanted.

Yep! My first MB has my real name Natalie in it, my second has SC 87 for my beloved Sidney Crosby, and my one for December says Gomery, which is my dog Montgomery's nickname. They're also all different colors! My boyfriend though has always just used his real first name, and he's the only person I've been there with since the implementation of MBs, so I guess I'm the silly goose here! I love having fun names inside them.

I usually switch mine to keep track of what band is from which trip. A lot of my say things like 26Bday, ToT2014, WD2015 or other short cuts for why we were down at the World.

Yeah, this time my sister and I put our Disney nicknames on our bands. We had a trip in 1994 where the names started as a joke, and we've used them to each other ever since.

we picked names to go with our Halloween costumes last year, and then did some Christmasy nicknames in Dec...this trip we are staying at SoG so no new magic bands, and everyone's wearing a variety of Halloween/or Christmas ones depending on colors to go with this year's different costumes. So last year's Lego Benny the Space Guy is being worn by the Mad Hatter LOL. Of course I'm wearing my Haunted Mansion band...no name on it, but it goes with everything!

Dutchess & O'Malley for me & DH.
My sons picked Dinky & Boomer.
Older girls Lumiere and Cogsworth.
Littlest girls are Penny & Bolt.

I guess for no good reason except we could...

Like others on here, we have never used our real names on the Magic Bands. One of my son's favorite pre-trip things to do is to pick colors and names for all of us that are funny, especially when combined with the color of the bands.

Absolutely!! For SWW, I was "Padme". For our recent stay at Poly, I changed my name to its Hawaiian equivalent. It's super fun!
