Ever camped on Ocracoke? nn info!

We've decided to turn our camping vacation into a beach
vacation. Going to Ocracoke-never camped on a beach
before. Can't get much info from National Park Svc!! geesh!

Do you mean Oracoke, NC? I'm fairly sure its part of Cape Hatteras National Sea Shore, which may be a category all its own. Dh and i have driven through there a few times, but we're not the camping type. Plug it into google and see what you come up with. if you do mean Ocracoke, then I have no idea where it is.

Never camped there, but we vacation on the Outer Banks around Nags Head, NC every couple of years, and we've taken the ferry to Ocracoke from Hatteras Island. It's beautiful there!

You might try a search on Outer Banks and see what you can find.

Thanks you guys, I've searched Google and a few others.
I've posted on the travel board at parentsoup.com too.
I hope someone has something more than what's on the
internet. We've been to Hatteras a few times but never
camped nor taken the ferry to Ocracoke. I do have a friend
who's been there but I can't find him right now.
Maybe someone else will post.

I did, years ago so it may have changed. It's beautiful, remote and I remember only one bathroom!

The water was pretty choppy too. Be careful swimming!

Make sure to reserve your spot on the ferry for your car. It fills up quickly on the weekends and you don't want to be delayed. We love the outer banks.

I talked to my friend who's camped there 15 times.
