Have you every bought anything from HSN, QVC, or just a commercial that shows up during one of your shows? What did you buy? Was it worth it? Any funny or interesting story from the experience?

I never have personally. Growing up my parents had a friend who regularly bought from QVC (I am pretty sure it was QVC) TV channel (this was back before the online shopping was a thing). He had good luck, I don't remember all of the products, but he seemed happy with what he showed us.

As far as TV commercials, I have bought a few things that were advertised on those commercials when I found them in a brick and mortar store. The Orgreenic pan and some kind of flashlights come to mind first. They were all OK but nothing life-changing. It seemed that Bed Bath and Beyond was a good place to find that stuff, also I have seen some Walmart stores that have a dedicated section for that stuff too.

Nothing from tv commercials but yes to QVC. But that was years and years ago before Amazon Prime came around. While the prices on QVC might be good, their shipping costs are pretty high. And using Amazon Prime I don't have to listen to the QVC host trying to convince me why I can't live without whatever they're selling. Their sales pitches are way too long for my attention span.

Never have. Not at all inclined to watch people try to separate me from my money for stuff I don't need.

My sister makes up for my lack. She shops QVC so often they say, "Hello, [first name]." Every order taker recognizes her voice, she told me.

YIKES! I can't imagine. I'd much rather spend money at Disney on stuff I don't really need. o_O

This would be a post for my MIL who loves watching QVC (or something similar) and buying from QVC. Her experience must be good since she continues to watch and buy,

I bought two or three times from QVC. My mother bought at least a hundred things. After she died I found about a dozen unopened QVC/HSN packages in her closet.

In college I had a part time job as an order taker for items sold on TV. “Operators are standing by.” K-tel albums, Pocket Fisherman, Ginzu knives and the like.

I bought a few things several years ago before online shopping became as it is now.
Started with some hair products from HSN that were pretty good, did one reorder of it but now don't even remember the brand, lol. I also bought my first flat screen tv from them but it was one of the items taken during a home break in, so got the next one from Sam's club. I also bought a nice laptop from them but wound up deciding not to keep it. Return was very easy.
I bought something from QVC once but for the life of me I can't remember what.
From ShopHQ I bought my Ipad which I love & use daily & with all the extras that came with it, the cost was cheaper than what my granddaughter paid for hers at a tech store around the same time.
I'm so glad we don't have shopping channels anymore, only streaming.
From commercials?? All I can say is Time Life Music. If you know, you know.
Facebook ad--I bought 2 pairs of sandal/slides that just looked amazing! Size 9 women. Around $50 for the pair with free shipping! Sooo, upon arrival both pair had the same size sticker on them but one pair had to be at least a size 12 & the other I probably could have worn with double thick socks. Checked out the return policy & just decided to donate the shoes.

Bought some Christmas decorations and luggage off HSN maybe 20 years ago. That's it.

I used to buy quite often when we lived in a rural area and before Amazon.
So it has been many years!!

I have once or twice on the QVC website, but I don't watch. Now my parents....good grief they watch and buy. It's like watching paint dry.

I've never done it, but one time my mom I guess had it on and they were selling this Marvel Comics poster signed by Stan Lee and others. Stan was on the channel shilling the product and my mom thought it would be a good present for me. Apparently they asked her if she wanted to talk to Stan Lee on air as they sometimes do. She said her son would love to! She ran into my room and told me to, "Talk to Stan Lee." Which I did. I think he thought I was about 12 years old (Though I was probably about 20 - right around, I was still in school and living at home). Anyway, that was awesome, though it spoiled the surprise of the poster, which still hangs above my bed.

I have purchased brands I am familiar with from QVC. I don't watch; I just hit the website.

:goodvibes Well, this is a little funny to me. The summer our DS turned 13, we gave him the freedom of having no bedtime - he could stay up as late as he wanted. He was elated and had probably always imagined that tons of fun stuff was happening around the house after 10:00 pm. What he found instead was that it was pretty boring in the wee hours and all that was really on TV was infomercials. He did get a little hooked on them though. For his birthday that year he asked for and received Mighty Putty and VeggieSaver green bags.

:D This. The only time I have ever bought something from a TV ad. It was the middle of the night and I was up feeding a baby. Bought a series (10 or 12 CD's) of greatest rock hits. That baby turned out to be a big fan of classic rock!

Seems to be a trend now of the morning news shows to have shopping deals featured. I usually fast forward through them.

DW buys from QVC occasionally, no problems.

Those TV shopping channels are annoying with their overly excited sales people who talk like we just can't live without whatever mundane items they are pitching. I often wonder if people are just as excited seeing that same item on the shelf of a store............ummmm probably not. Wouldn't be surprised to find those 'counters' showing the number sold are bogus and just intended to create a phony sense of urgency to buy before time runs out. Most of the food items seem really pricey and in tiny packages. Shipping tends to be expensive and even when they claim it has 'free shipping' that cost is probably buried in the price of the product. For the typical ads that pop up all over the net, with all of the various adblocker software seems like they are spending a LOT of ad dollars for very little return.

I might occasionally try some new brand of corn chips if I see a TV ad, but just as likely to notice it when walking down the aisle of the grocery store.

I used to buy from QVC and HSN many years ago, when the deals were good. But now I find their prices are ridiculous. I am not going to pay $50 for a simple blouse when I can get a very nice one for $20 on sale locally. And I find it insulting that the hosts swear that the product they are pushing is the absolute best in the world.

My MIL buys from QVC regularly, my kids hate getting presents at Christmas from there. She usually gets them cuddle duds, which have made the leap from QVC to now being sold at Kohl’s.

DW buys occasionally.

I like watching Laura Geller selling her cosmetics.

i remember about 30ish years ago Phylis Diller was on selling some kind of anti-aging face cream. Yeah, she of about a dozen facelifts.
