Ever been to a Texas Roadhouse?

my brother helped open the one up in ft wayne a few years ago. he worked there up until a few months ago as one of the cooks. we used to get in all the time, even when there was a significant wait!

haven't been there in awhile though...maybe it's time to visit again!

DH and I love the place, we live about 45 min away from one so we call ahead and get put on the waiting list and until we get there they usually seat us within just a few minutes.

It is a lot like the Outback Steakhouse.

Love the Cheese Fries!!!!

We have one here but I have only been once. Every restaurant around here has a wait because its the only thing to do. Maybe it will be our weekend dinner out this week, they just opened an Olive Garden so maybe the wait will transfer over there!

There is a new one in my area. I guess I will have to try it.

There's one under construction just a few miles from our house. There is one about an hour and one half from here but we've never gone. What's the menu pricing like... more like Ground Round or Outback?

Thanks :D

Their rolls are just too good, the butter that goes with them doesn't hurt...sweet & tasty.

Yum, Yum, Yum!!
And the loaded sweet potato that the other poster described. These are my favorite things - I could skip the rest of dinner and just eat the potato and rolls and butter!!!!

We've eaten there a few times. We love the rolls and butter, but DH (the steak expert) says the steak does not measure up to Lone Star Steakhouse or Outback. It is a little less expensive than those places, even the kids meals cost less.

Pretty cheap I think. We spend around $20.00 for DFiance and I, including tip most times. Meals are around $7-$13 with some being more (aka the 22oz steaks). Our favorite are the Chicken Critters (deep fried Chicken tenders in REALLY good batter), with the loaded SP and I like a side of Chili or Salad. It is only $7.99 for the Critters and two sides and unlimited rolls. I went there last night and my Mom had the Country Fried Sirloin and she said it was the best she has ever had! I just missed out on a deal our local radio station had their Gift Certs $50 for only $25.00 and it included two free movie tixs. Urgh!

Menu with prices, it says they may vary but there are the same as each TR we have been to.

We have one a couple of minutes away from us. I don't like the steaks but I do like the ribs, they are delicious!
7yodd likes the fact that she can get "Kraft" mac & cheese for dinner.

This is so weird. I've never seen or heard of the place, and I eat out all the time. I bet now that I've heard of them that sometime in the next week I see one - that always happens. I've eaten at Logan's Roadhouse, and it is yummy. Does that count :teeth:?

I love Texas Roadhouse. We discovered one quite by accident on a vacation, and then found one up by us. I like it a lot, but if I could have it my way, would get a Bloomin Onion and salad from Outback and then everything else from TR.

They are exactly like Logans Roadhouse, i think. Strange thing is, they are building a Logans one mile from the Texas Roadhouse here =)

The steaks are "okay" Here in Waco, we have a hard time finding decent steak, so it does okay in a pinch. The filet is what I always get. Their sides are yummy, including the chili, potatos, etc.

Speaking of peanut allergies: We have a Cotton Patch, and they used to have the peanuts as well, and hte last time we went they didn't anymore... I inquired about it, and they said that beacuse of the growing number of severe peanut allergies, they stopped doing it. Those with peanut allergies can't even be in the same room with the things... I wondered if Texas roadhouse would go to that, too.

When we lived in Indiana, we had one that we went to now and then. After we moved back home to Davenport, Iowa, they built one soon after. We love it, but the wait (if you don't call ahead) can be a killer.

Yum! I just might have to go out for dinner tomorrow night. The Portobello Mushroom Chicken is my favorite. Guess I am going to have to try the sweet potato.

We don't have a "Texas" Roadhouse, but we have a Roadhouse and the menu and theming sound very much the same. I love going there for all the extras- the peanuts, the drinks, the fried onion or zucchini, the salad with real ranch dressing and the rolls....the yummy, yummy, YUMMY rolls! We went two weeks ago and I did well in only eating one roll! :p

I went to my first Texas Roadhouse in WV 6 years ago. I loved it! We finally have one near our house here in Kennesaw. We ate there last week with my parents. We used the Call-ahead seating, and it was a great timesaver.

KristaTx, I don't know what part of Fort Worth you live in but the only one I know of is up off 820, near North Beach Street. It is okay. There are too many great steak houses around here for me to want to go there, plus I hate the traffic on that part of the loop! But it is family friendly so we have met other families for dinner there and it isn't very expensive.
