Ever been hurt on a ride/attraction?

Back when I was in the military...would have been 92-93ish time...Disney was giving free tickets to active military. Few friends and I drove down from Jacksonville. I was riding Space Mountain, and on one of the big drops...my head moved forward and then slammed backware against the headrest bar, almost knocking me unconscious...to this day I still don't remember the rest of the ride after that.

Only one injury in all out times at WDW. It happened to my DS when she was 6 and we were at TL. She was knocked down by one of the gaint waves in the wave pool. We were too shallow and the bottom is rough in the shallow area. Scraped her all up. Went to the first aid station and they were very helpful. :thumbsup2

This may not count, but it was on DCL...

We were in Key West and it was "misty" raining. As soon as I stepped off the gangplank I noticed the pavement was really slippery...my DH was ahead of me rushing to catch up with the rest of our group...Just as I got out "You didn't wear your sneakers so becareful it's slip-------" Down I went...Of course a couple of fellow cruisers came running over to help me up and called DH back.

2 bandaids and a "drink of the day" and I was back in action...worst damage done was to my pride.

Hurt my lower back on either Dudley Do-Right or Bilge River Barges. Not sure which one but something jerked me in a way that tweeked my lower back. Was sore for a couple days but nothing too serious. Didn't keep me off the coasters anyway. Could have been coinsidence too, who knows.

I slammed my leg into the side of the car on Dinosaur. Hurt for a week! That ride was just way to bouncy for me!

The Matterhorn at DL almost broke my ribs. I had a bruise there for about 3 weeks. I'm not sure how it happened, but near the start of the ride the car jerked one way, I was going the other, and the seatbelt got me good. My DH tried to hold me steady, but there was little he could do. It was excruciating. First and only time that riding a roller coaster induced tears.

I got hurt on Star Tours. Those seat rows are so close together, I was having a tough time walking off the ride. I ended up running one thigh really hard into one of the armrests & ended up with a very nasty bruise at that spot that was dark & lasted quite awhile! Lesson learned: walk very carefully & slowly through the row on that ride because the armrests bite! :rotfl:

Not sure if this counts, but at hershy land. we went to the chocolate-making ride, and was wearing sandals. Well, I tripped my toe fell against one of the rails. I cut the side of my toe.(It was mostly just a minor inconvinience.)
I've also probably banged my head a few times at disney world, but nothing specific comes to mind.

Was sat at the back where there is less headroom, wasn't badly hurt though.

That's why I hated that ride. My DD7 bumped her head(nothing serious) in the first 10 seconds. I spent the rest of the ride with my arm around her trying to keep her from getting whiplash or a concussion.

I broke my toe once while staying in a cabin in Ft. Wilderness. Was bringing down the murphy bed and it landed right on me! ouch!

This reminds me of when DH and I decided to rent one of those pedal surry bikes at the Boardwalk. Our DS and DD were about 75 lbs each but unable to reach the pedals well. Me and DH had to do all the work. I injured my calf muscles and the insteps of my feet. I could barely walk the rest of the trip. Nasi

I was wearing open-toed shoes and accidentally kicked a metal merchandise rack at EPCOT. It didn't hurt, but I finally looked down and realized that I was bleeding really badly. My toenail never has grown back right.
I did see a really bad accident at the JC about five years ago. They had loaded some people at the unload area and the skipper was making an announcement about keeping your hands in the boat when an older gentleman stuck his hand between the boat and the dock. There was a lot of blood, a pregnant lady in line fainted and two kids threw up. They took the boat backstage and presumably took care of everything out of sight of the rest of us.

Both my sister and I had problems with banging our heads on Back To The Future when we rode in the back of the car. I told the ride attendant the next time there that we needed to ride in the front because of this problem. He told us to just shove our way to the front. :confused3

In talking to other about this ride on a message board, it appears that people complain about hitting their heads all the time. I wonder why they don't pad the ride better.

I was afraid of this happening to me the last time we were at Typhoon Lagoon. Those waves are pretty strong, and the bottom is real rough!

Me and Disneyfoo were both hurt on Rock n Rollercoaster at DLP in December, we couldn't pull the harnesses down tight enough, and I was barely held in. I did not enjoy that ride!!
Also on the Indiana Jones ride, there was no queue, so after we left the carriage we got back in again. The people behind us, didn't get out and check for a queue, so the French CMs were shouting to them to leave the carriage. I was looking round to see what was going on, and they raised the harness up. My head was pushed back, and my chin felt like I'd been punched, made me feel dizzy and sickly for hours afterwards.

On our last morning, on that same trip to DLP, I slipped on a metal grate next to the RER station. I really hurt my knee, could barely walk on it, so we went straight to the first aid centre. The nurse couldn't speak much English, but my vague knowledge of French came in handy. She bandaged it up, and gave me painkillers and sent me on my way... Which wasn't very far. We pretty much did nothing all day, because of my knee. We went to eat, and I couldn't straighten my knee up after sitting for a little while! So, back to the first aid centre we went! This second nurse bandaged the knee up with a support, and also gave me painkillers for later on in the day. I thought the medical attention was good, but they couldn't really do anything... Especially as I can't speak French!

My MIL fell by the tea shop in England. She didn't see the curb and fell and hurt her knee pretty badly. The CMs all around were absolutely wonderful and helped her as best they could with ice and making sure she was comfortable as the Reedy Creek people were called. Well... it ended up actually being funny because who shows up- my friend's dh who is a reedy creek ems guy. He took extra special care of my MIL while giving me the phone to call his dw and surprise her. They bandaged her up, gave us a wheel chair, and we talked MIL into still having some fun and having dinner and letting us wheel her around. We really wanted her to see soarin' and she was so happy that she was able to do it. Later on we helped her onto the bus and got a chair at the resort (which we didn't even have to pay for).
Disney really does have a way to make even getting injured into a good experience (as good as it can be anyway)

I cracked a rib last trip on a Blizzard Beach slide. I was sliding face first on a tobaggan slide and didn't have my elbows tucked into my chest. Then I hit a curve and banged into the side and ...CRACK...there goes the rib. It took a few weeks to fully heal, but I didn't let it slow down the vacation.

At Disney Quest, while on one of the virtual reality the game was broken and made it appear that I was going around and around and around and around and around....and around and around and around.
Can you say green :thumbsup2 around the gills

Once our daughter ran into Dumbo's ear while trying to race to a Pink Elephant. Nasty bump on her head but she was fine. I told the paramedics and the legal department that rushed out that she was fine and we were happy. But I must say, they could use a better way to load Dumbo.

The first time I went on RnR, I road several times in a row, I hurt myself because of my earings. Everytime we went upside down or whipped around my head went from side to side and my earing posts stabbed my head. :thumbsup2 No more posts for me. :rotfl:
