Event merch.. when do the place it out and take it off shelves?

So I’m not talking about hard ticket events such as the parties, but ones like the Festival of Arts or Food and Wine. When do they tend to put the merchandise out for sale and then remove what might be left at the end?

I have seen (and bought) some Food&Wine Festival merch shortly after it ended. It will be leftover merch, and shirts/sweatshirts may be in odd sizes. Saw cups or glasses too.
I'm pretty sure we bought Illuminations Farewell plastic straw cups after it ended and Epcot Forever had already started. They were on sale, so that's why we bought them.
Any leftover merchandise that we have found has been in MouseGears, on a display near the cash registers/line near the event/passholder merchandise display racks.
Things like event pins or ornaments tend to sell out quickly, so I don't think you'd find anything like that leftover.

I know about the pins and such, that’s why I stopped going to hard ticket events because they’d sell out immediately for people reselling them and leave the party-goers nothing. I’m tired on that junk. That’s how they ruined Vinylmations too, making things hard to get.
