Evening extra magic hour - crowds?

Can someone give us an idea of crowds at MK EMH in the evenings? We plan on going to Epcot in the morning then back for a nap then maybe back to MK about 7 and staying for the EMH on May 25. I'm curious if the premise is the same for the Evening as it is the morning (resort crowds all flock to MK). We will have been to MK for a full day earlier in week but my 3 teens really want to try the late night.

Do you have hoppers? If so, you can go to another park in the early part of the day, and switch to the EMH park shortly before EMH begins. My experience has been that EMH themselves are great. There may still be plenty of people around in the park, but only guests can get on the rides, and that's great in comparison to the way things are during the day. A lot of families are tired and done by EMH times, so no, it's not like every resort family will be there at all. Plenty will have chosen another park that day, and not have hoppers, as well.

The issue with EMH is not that the hours themselves are too crowded (although for the first portion of evening hours you will have to wait for the lines to die down, as those non-resort guests already in line when EMH started don't get kicked out of line, of course), it's that the non-EMH part of the day is rumored to be more crowded. I haven't gone enough to evaluate if that part is true. But we certainly have enjoyed the hours themselves- much shorter lines. I do recommend it for your 3 teens.

Thank you and yes we have hoppers. So how do they know you are a resort guest when 11:00 rolls around? Do you have to use your magic band to ride?

There will be a CM to scan your band, yes.

It's a roll of the dice for late night emh, especially if all the other parks are already closed for the night. We love to hop back to mk at night and I've seen it dead but also the largest crowds I've ever seen. More often than not, it's a little crowded until the fireworks and then it gets more and more quiet the later it gets. Many people just can't stay up late or their kids are wiped out and they have to leave.. With ak at night starting that weekend, there might be a lot who have changed their plans to do emh at MK earlier in the week so they are free for late night at AK opening.

Weekends are usually the opposite and EMH at night is swamped all night.

Epcot night emh the other night we rode test track 4 or 5 times and did space ship earth all in the first hour
