Evening Extended At MK on Friday 4 February 2022

Bucking the trend of Evening Extended hours at the Magic Kingdom, typically being on Wednesdays, as of now the Calendar lists no Extended Hours for MK on Wednesday 2 February, but does list extended hours for Friday 4 February at MK 8-10PM.

If you are like me, planning changes commence now.

FWIW, one disney blog I read had done some digging and found out that a national cheerleading event is being held at Disney the 4th-6th and the website for the event listed evening extra hours would be available on the 4th regardless of what resort they had booked.

Oh dear. That doesn't sound good at all.

Other weirdness is I'm not seeing any evening hours for the week of 14 February.
Edit: Oh, haha. That's because there aren't any hours for that week yet.

Are the EMH only for the cheerleaders?

I had just discovered this earlier today. Don’t know what changes to make. May even stay off property as I’m not into teeny boppers running around.

They are for the Cheerleaders AND the Deluxe Resort guests....

I would not be happy if I was a Deluxe resort guest staying that week. We are going in April and are staying Monday to Friday. If this happened when we were staying, we would have lost the benefit of staying at a Deluxe resort because we would be flying home Friday. It appears they are not adding an extra day, just switching the day from Wednesday to Friday. Must be very frustrating for those counting on that Wednesday.

There is some confusion on this point. More recently it has been pointed out that the cheer event FAQ includes verbiage that states they will be in DHS on Friday night and MK on Sunday night. However, this exact verbiage appears on the FAQ for other events on different weekends, so it still isn’t clear why disney put EEM on Friday that week.

so maybe the cheer people will be at MK Friday night, maybe not.

As previously noted, the verbiage points to the EEM for the competition to be at HS on Friday. Since it also describes the need for a park pass reservation to HS unless you have a park hopper, it seems like the EEM at MK will be just for deluxe resort guests. But, as was also pointed out, why change the EEM at MK from Wednesday to Friday in the first place???

Oh that’s a relief. We had planned our MK day to take full advantage of those EMHs that night and I was concerned that all the cheer kids would make it so much harder. Thanks for the research and the update.
