Even Miracles Take A Little Time; a PTR 5 years in the making. NEW! Nov. 2 - Single Digits!

Wendy, your furry family is just so beautiful :goodvibes It's easy to see why leaving them is so hard. I got my cat, Anga, from the SPCA as well.

I always love when you post pictures of all your fur babies, big and small. I can't help feeling a special warmth for Oscar since he was adopted after I met you on the boards. And I still can't believe he was in a trash can.

BTW - we really haven't had any snow here in Delaware yet, but we are supposed to get some tonight. Should be interesting.

Thank you for introducing the rest of your family. I can see why it can be hard to leave home. Feels like they are all very loved and definitely return that love. :goodvibes

Hi Wendy! Yay you are booked again! :yay: I've not stayed in the villas at BC but that was our first deluxe resort so I have fond memories there. And who wouldn't want to be able to walk to Epcot!

Hope you are over the crud but blanket forts anytime are fun.

You asked about Captain's Grill... I've been a big breakfast fan but less of a dinner fan. So many great restaurants on your list. How do you narrow it down? Ha ha!

Hi Wendy! We will be there during the same time. We are going from 11/15-11/20 and it is a Honeymoon Re-do for me and my DH. We went for our Honeymoon in 2011, but DH ended of cracking his tooth and was in a lot of pain most of the trip. We have been back twice since then with the kids, so we decided to go just the two of us. Our trip is not booked yet, but that doesn't mean I don't have some plans. Initially we were thinking of Pop and keeping fingers crossed for free dining which we would upgrade to the DDP. Then I made the "mistake" and started looking at renting DVC points and I fell in love with the Boardwalk Villas. So, I talked it over with the DH and he wants me to wait and see about FD (we were planning on booking in May anyway)...if that comes out then we will stay at Pop. If that doesn't come out then I think we will rent DVC points and just purchase the DDP (I agree with you...the Dining Plan works for us too).

So, definitely following along with you and I'm sure I will start my PTR at some point...I just want to finish my TR from April 2014 first (I need to get it done...I'm approaching the year mark).

Looking forward to following along,
Sandra

OK Wendy, I'm finally here. I've tried to stay away from PTR's since I'm subbed to so many TR's, but I just can't help myself.

Hmmmm... Interesting start to your intro post.... You'll see what I mean soon. :p

Nope, you had it right the first time... Prince and Princess. :)

Yikes guys. Yikes.

I thought I had a bad cold last week? Ha! That was until a stomach bug hit me Tuesday night. I basically skipped life for the rest of the week. I've never had a stomach bug before in my life. Can you believe that? I thought I was immune. Iron Stomach McWendy! So much for that. I'm still catching up on water and crackers, I'm at work today for a short shift (my first since Tuesday) and I really probably shouldn't be. I'm so shaky!

I promise to take some time today to catch up with you all and do replies!

(Only 3 hours, 16 minutes of work before I can take a nap...)

Thanks Tracy! SPCA pets are the best, aren't they? They just know you did something good for them, and they're extra greatful.

Thanks Mary Ellen! Oscar is definitely my Disboards Baby! Poor thing, can you just imagine a scarier place for a kitten than an airport hangar?
Not much snow, eh? I can't remember what the world looks like without it... :lmao:

They make it hard Phil, that's for sure. Very much loved, and they give back 10x!

Hi Wendy! I am here, and so excited to join for this PTR!
BCV is my favorite resort I've stayed on property. I love everything about it, the pool, the theme, the food!

Also, your furry family is beautiful. I love pets, as I have a dog of my own, but all your babies are so adorable!

(Only 58 minutes of work left! NAP TIME HERE I COME!)

Hi Brenda! :welcome: So good to have you!
I'm really excited for the short walk to Epcot!
Ugh, just getting over all new crud unfortunately! But we love our blanket forts.
Well, we're looking at Captains Grill for breakfast mostly, so that sounds good. We're having a really hard time narrowing it down!

:welcome: Sandra! So cool that you're doing a honeymoon re-do, really sucks about your DH's tooth! Ouch!
Haha the "mistake" of looking at the swankier resorts, yes I know that one too.
I jumped on over to your TR, I'll be there for the PTR too!

:welcome: Alison!! A ninja post as your first post? Awesome!
Nice to hear good things about the BCV! I can't wait, I'm so excited!
Thank you! I really love my fur-babies.

... And because I must...

ONLY 37 MINUTES LEFT!

Time to start my pre-shut down rituals! Can't wait to turn off the printer!

Oh, Wendy... so sorry to hear about the stomach bug, yuck! I sure hope you were able to get right home and take your nap. Feel better!

My last trip, Mother and Daughter trip, we ended up at Nine Dragon as a sudden change. It did not disappoint.

Thanks Tracy! I'm finally getting back on my feet. I did go home and take a nap too, it was glorious.

Oh! That's good to hear. I haven't really heard too much about the place.

Howdy folks!

How are you all? I am getting pretty darn sick of the ice. I can deal with snow (I am Canadian afterall!) but the ice that we're getting here on Cape Breton is just ridiculous. Rain and then flash freeze, rain and freeze. My poor horses, I'm terrified for them when they are able to go outside!

It makes it worse that my parents are in Orlando right now. Along with almost every other Dis-friend on my Facebook news feed.

My parents weren't in Disney at all, they went down for the Daytona 500. Who does that? Go all the way to Orlando and NOT step foot in Disney??

To all my friends who ran in the Princess Half Marathon and other races, a huge congrats to you, and from someone who would die first in a zombie apocalypse -- I absolutely honour those of you who run for FUN!

^^ Me.

Johnny and I were both some type of sick for the past two weeks, so we honestly just weren't in the mood to talk much Disney. It's not like we're close enough to our 180 days to worry, but still. It's weird for me to do no planning.

We did manage to cross a few (very few) restaurants off our long list. Here's what it looks like now:

Animal Kingdom
Tusker House (breakfast)

Disney's Hollywood Studios
Mama Melrose*

Epcot
Coral Reef
Le Cellier
Nine Dragons*
Biergarten
Via Napoli
San Angel Inn
Rose & Crown

Magic Kingdom
Be Our Guest*
Crystal Palace

Animal Kingdom Lodge
Boma
Sanaa

Beach Club
Beaches & Cream
Cape May

Boardwalk
ESPN

Contemporary
The Wave

Grand Floridian
1900 Park Fare

Polynesian
'Ohana
Kona

Wilderness Lodge
Whispering Canyon*

Yacht Club
Captain's Grille*
Yachtsman

Downtown Disney
T-Rex
Raglan Road

Yeah. Still too long, but we're working on it. We may have to upgrade to the deluxe dining plan!

The only other thing that we did was to look up tours. We thought since we're doing a longer trip, we might like to try something new.

Some that we're considering:

Backstage Magic - $249 each, does some behind the scenes looks at all 4 parks plus some extras. Still a consideration, though the price has me hesitating.

Backstage Safari - $72 each, at Animal Kingdom. See some behind the scenes places like the animal care centers. A maybe, we are animal lovers of course.

Behind the Seeds - $20 each, at Epcot. The behind the scenes look at Living with the Land. We've done it before (which makes me think we don't need to do it again) and we loved it, and it's cheap (which makes me think I'd enjoy doing it a second time.)

Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour - $79 each, at Magic Kingdom. The strongest possibility for us. Not a bad price, MK is the one we'd like to see most.

The UnDISCOVERed Future World - $64 each, in Epcot. Looks interesting, we love Epcot, but some of the description sounds fairly boring. Except for this: "Go behind-the-scenes at llumiNations: Reflections of Earth and learn a few of the secrets of the nighttime fireworks spectacular, from technical specifics to its symbolic relevance to Future World." Hmm... I do love IllumiNations.

Anyone have any experience with these? Other than Behind the Seeds, Johnny and I haven't done any tours. My parents did the Backstage Magic and loved it. I can't decide.

Too many decisions to make!

Very glad to hear that you both are back on your feet after a couple weeks of collectively not feeling well. Now, as for that restaurant list... good luck with that! That's a heck of a hard list to narrow down as there are SO many great options! But I guess you can look at it this way... ya can't go wrong! :thumbsup2

I've actually thought about doing a tour soon myself. I've heard great things about Keys to the Kingdom. I'd love to do that one or Behind the Seeds - I love seeing that tour group in action.

And seriously... who goes to Orlando and doesn't step foot into Disney?! :confused3 and :rotfl: Not this gal, that's for sure! ;)

Along with almost every other Dis-friend on my Facebook news feed
... I hear that! Not to mention friends and family that live if Florida posting "funny" things about surviving the Florida Winter of 2014 - Februrary 19-20 ... never forget :sad2:

Congrats on getting the ADR list down at least a little bit. .... of course now you go an add the tour list to increase the decision making back up

We have never done a tour but several of them are on my Disney Bucket list - with probably the Steam Train Tour being at the top of the list. Though, the behind the seeds tour will probably be the first one we do as it appears to be family friendly, is the cheapest and my kids love living with the land. Keys to the Kingdom seems to be the main one a lot of people do and does get you behind the scenes on a number of rides and down into the utilidoors. I've read a few reviews of the Backstage Safari and they were very positive. Probably would recommend one of those two for you.

Wendy, I hope you are feeling better. There is a lot of sickness going around (Mark and I have been playing with a cold for the last week or so and then had a 36 hour stomach bug over the weekend).

We have done the Keys to the Kingdom Tour and the Backstage Safari Tour. We LOVED them both. It really is very hard for me to choose one over the other because we did LOVE them both. I guess I'd give a slight edge to the Keys to the Kingdom Tour just because you get some background on Walt himself.

Ugh, I am with you on the ice there Wendy. Strange that our weather is always so similar.
Also UGH UGH, yes, it feels like every DISer is down in Disney right now or at least Orlando. At least they've had a bit of cold to make us feel a little better, lol. :stir:

Obviously I'm all in for the Keys tour. When you consider that it includes lunch at CHH it's even cheaper. But the Backstage Magic does intrigue me as well.
