Actually your cat is paying you a compliment. Only a happy and very secure cat will nap with his/her tummy showing. Something instinctual about not exposing their vulnerable underbelly to potential predators.

LOL! Yes it is. When we were still in MA we had a throw away cat that basically lived in my garage. His name was Dad and he was one of the most awesome cats I've ever had the pleasure to know. The skunks would come at night to sample the cat food I left out for him. He'd just sit there and watch them as calm as you please.
I was able to find a home for Dad who was FIV positive the day before we left for Florida. That made me very happy because he was one great cat.
