EVC and Rental Car

I just put in my reservation for an ECV for my husband for our trip in December. I went with Walker Mobility, and on the webpage it shows how to disassemble it and load into the car.

My question is does anyone know how much room I will need? My rental is a small SUV, like a Chevy Equinox. And, it is full so I will not be able to put the seats down.

Will I have enough room?? Thanks!!

Some scooters are larger than others. When broken down, you may be able to have a certain piece on a seat to fit it all.

There should be specs for the car and scooter if you do searches on internet or call the appropriate channels.

I know this is not an easy answer, but it's the safest to make sure it all works for you.

I should warn you, the Equinox was smaller inside than you think it is - I just turned mine in... You may be ok, but it may be tight!

We rented a Ford Fusion this past May and my scooter fit pretty well into the trunk (did have to put either the seat or battery in back seat). It was only 2 of us in the car so that wasn't a problem for us, but if you have others with you, you might run into trouble.

Another example we have a full sized Ford E-150 conversion van that we use to haul my scooter on a daily basis. The area behind the last row of seat is about 2 foot wide by about 5 foot wide. The scooter takes up the better part of the whole area. I could make it smaller by putting the seat and battery on the main frame of the scooter, but that makes it more difficult to disassemble to remove from the van. My scooter is also a smaller travel scooter. If it was much bigger, we would have to figure out another way to haul it. It also fits into the trunk of our 1995 Lincoln Town Car when broken down.
