My 2 DD's hold EU Passports. I know they have the right of abode in the U.K and can work there but someone told me they can also work and reside in any of the EU countries? Anyone know if that is the case?

Thanks!

Under European Law, all Citizens of the European Union (defined as citizens of one of the Member States of the European Union) are able to live and work in any of the Member States, as well as in Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland.

If one is staying in another Member State for less than three months, one may be required to inform local authorities of one's presence, depending on the Member State's laws.

If one is staying in another Member State for more than three months, but less than five years, one may be required to register with local authorities, depending on the Member State's laws. In addition, the continued right to live in the Member State is tied to one's continued employment there, with certain exceptions for those who become unemployed and pensioners.

If one has lived legally in another Member State for more than five years, one acquires Permanent Resident status (referred to in the United Kingdom as "Indefinate Leave to Remain"), and can continue to live and work there without any further restrictions.

Certain transitional rules may apply for citizens of countries which have recently joined the EU. In addition, different rules may apply in Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Switzerland.
