I am pregnant and will be unable to ride several of the attractions that my husband and oldest son will want to Fastpass, especially at Animal Kingdom. There's nothing really that me and the little guy want to do that they don't also want to do with us. Do you think it is unethical to schedule fastpasses for me and my toddler for the purposes of being used by my husband and older son? Does Disney care?

For example, at AK, would it be considered wrong to use FP for hubby and oldest to ride Expedition Everest, then use my FP and toddler's FP to give hubby and oldest a ride on Dinosaur?

There's nothing unethical about it. Use your family's fastpasses any way that best suits your family.

+1

Disney does not care at all. Imo you paying for those FPs (one way or another) and you should be able to use them for your family

And I personally certainly don't see anything unethical about it, and I don't think other reasonable people would either. So go for it!

I had this dilemma and didn't initially set up any of our FP+ like this (We had 2 adults, a 10 year old, and twins who were at best 38"---so I knew they would not ride the 40" rides). By the middle of the trip, I realized we could switch magic bands, especially at Epcot to avoid Tiers (Only Soarin' and TT were open then).

I paid for tickets for my 3 year olds, they entered the same parks we did, so I figured that someone in the family was entitled to use their FP+.

Well... I won't speak to whether it is "ethical" or "unethical" as that is subjective and up to each individual whether they consider choosing to follow or not follow a particular rule to be ethical. However it is against the rules:

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/bands-cards/transferring-to-friend/

Q. Can other people use my MagicBand or card?

A. No. Your MagicBand or card is unique to you and only you are authorized to access the benefits associated with it—including linked tickets, FastPass+ experiences, touch-to-pay purchases and other entitlements. Once a MagicBand or card is linked to your Disney account, it cannot be transferred to another person.

Now of course many people do it, but it is officially disallowed.

I do this all the time with my friend she can not do any cooler coasters and I love them so on most trips I will use 1 or 2 or her FP and we will do a ride together with hers
the CM never said a word and I will do her any my FP for the same ride at the same time just go back to back.

Just another example of where the website and actual practice in the parks is out of sync.

OP, have at it. Nobody will bat an eye.

I was drifting thru Disney stuff today and " the fastpass is linked to the ticket and and group" Others in your linked group can use spare fastpasses. This is about what we were told before, but I never tried it. Has anyone else?

This is a very interesting question. I was actually going to make a ethical FP+ question thread but feared it might get closed or relocated to some random forum where nobody visits, but then again my question was going to be different.

To your specific question I'm going to say no it is not unethical to use another family members FP+ if they are in the park and not choosing to ride that ride (for whatever reason). You've paid for a park ticket, visited the park, and therefor have every right to use the perks to the fullest extent. The reason why I think it is ethically OK, IMO, is because it doesn't affect other park guest. If you have a FP+ scheduled for a ride it doesn't harm anyone else if you, or your family members, use that FP. You paid for park admission.

Now those who use extra magic bands or throwaway rooms are a different story.

Welp guess the same applies to this thread. Sorry OP. Not sure why a FP+ question got moved out of the FP+ forum.

CMs don't care at all, even when "Sally" is 6'4" with a full beard.

It's like taking your dessert on your Free Dining QS meal and letting your DH have two.

This is nothing like scamming FP+ with extra MagicBands and no tickets.

Your family isn't getting anything extra.

Cast members have actually encouraged my family to do this.

My husband got an extra ride on R-n-R because of it.
