Hi, does anyone know if there are ethernet connections in SSR rooms? I seem to recall that they were removed from most resorts awhile ago, my DH needs to bring his work ethernet phone on vacation, ugh. Thanks for any info!

Maybe he could forward it to his cell phone or add it to a computer or cell phone using the VOIP information. I wonder if he could use a wireless access point to connect the phone to the wifi.

You may run into some issues with quality of service- the router needs to be set to support voice over IP. If there's a softphone client for his laptop (use a headset), that may assist with router issues.
I use VOIP a lot through my phone and computer. A wireless hotspot may also be helpful and likely the best choice since you'd have time to test it ahead of time and you'd remove the variables of the internet there. An alternative would be to ask someone here to see if VOIP will work there, I haven't tried mine at WDW. Given the requirement I suspect he has access to an IT team. If so, he should get with them as well. I bet they can forward his number to a cellphone or give him a work cell phone to use with his number forwarded on it. I know our phones at work are ethernet based but also has a computer client where you can hook up a headset and use the computer as well.
