ESTA question

Hi all,

we go in 3 months and am wondering when to apply for the ESTA's. Is it best to do it now in case of any problems. Last time we went it was 5 years ago so we just had to fill in the green form on the plane. Do they expire after a few months?

Hey, they last for 2 years from when they are granted I think. So if you do them now, they will last until July 2014

Hi,

ESTA's last for 2 years, so unless you are planning another trip towards the end of that period i would get them now just in case you need to apply for a VISA.

Assuming your not a smuggler, mule, or ex drug con of some descrition you should be ok. The questions are pretty much what you'd expect.

We also have the added extra of living in France so I'm gonna do it right now.....

Used to be free, now $14 each .

Esta's, applied for, paid for ($14 each), approved, printed off......now sat in the travel file! Another thing sorted!

Definitely sooner rather than later, most applications are accepted no problem but they can be a delay and it might take time for them to get more info if they need it.

I did all ours last year just before you had to start paying for them, luckily I got them out last night though as they were only valid for 1 year, I then had to go and apply for new estas and paid the $14 last night, these paid estas last 2 years

Sorry to jump in on this thread - my ESTA's expire in September but I would rather not leave my application for new ones too late. Is it possible to apply for new ESTA's before the old ones expire?

Our ESTA's expire on 29th August and we arrive in the USA on 19th Aug (depart 3rd Sep)

We have not renewed as they are only required for entry - have checked on the official site and we are fine - can save the $$$ for when we are out there!

I had an email to say my esta ws due to expire I followed the link and it told me it didn't expire till august 2013 !!
