Escape Wedding Question-Lunch

I am having an Escape Wedding in the Canada Pavillion. We are thinking of going to lunch with our guests at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall after the ceremony. I know that we will have to present tickets for Epcot that day, but am wondering if I will be able to keep my dress on for that meal or not? Does Disney have anyway to maybe pay for special transportation so that I could keep my dress on possibly?

Disney is pretty darn strict about wedding attire in the parks. I would imagine that if they allowed you to arrange transport, you would have to pay for it, plus and escort/guide. I haven't heard of anyone doing this.

Maybe you could change into a shorter, nice dress after the ceremony?

I'd ask your coordinator about this. If World Showcase is open by the time your ceremony is over, you will already be in the park and have arranged for transportation. It seems silly that they would make you leave just to change your dress.

Oh since you're here, along those same lines, if we get married in France and then have a 10 am reception at American adventure parlour, do we have to use transportation backstage to go from France to American adventure or can we just walk? What about afterwards? Would we have to take transportation backstage back or could we charter a friendship boat for $250 to take us back to yacht and beach?

World Showcase will still be closed after your ceremony, so you can walk. They won't let you charter the Friendship boats after WS opens, which will happen during your reception, so you'll need to take some kind of transport out (not necessarily a pricey charter bus... if your group is smaller, one-way vans could be the way to go).
