Morning everyone,
Well I managed to get a lot of Christmas shopping done yesterday, the rest of the stuff I can order over the internet anyway. We bought Thomas a mini grand piano from the early learning centre, I'm sure my SIL will love that!! But he likes to play our real piano when he visits!!

Today we are doing a few more jobs around the house. We are redoing the floor in our garden room as some of the tiles got chipped when we decorated earlier this year. So Pete is taking them all up today ready to put some new ones down.

I told my kids they had to be what they were last year, because I didn't want to buy new costumes. We were in WDW last year, and nobody around here saw their costumes, so I told them they were wearing them again
Katie is a ladybug
Stehanie was going to be a Devilish Diva until last night. We had a delivery at home, and it came in a perfectly square box. I told Stephanie that this box would be a perfect box for her to be a Rubix Cube. She agreeded, and Kevin cut a hole out for her head and arms, and it fit perfectly. Today he is coloring it and it's going to be so awesome when it's done - I can hardly wait to see the finished product!!!!!!

I don't go into work today until 12:30pm, which is pretty nice, but I have to get ready for work as if I'm going in at 10am (in case my employee calls me and I need to go). I have her her working this morning, because she asked off for later today and tomorrow, and Thursday - Saturday is the only time she can work, due to classes.

Good afternoon everyone,

So far today I have been hoovering my whole house. My new Dyson vac arrived this morning, so I have been testing it out and all the attachments that came with it!! My house is now perfectly hoovered and all the chairs and sofas have been hoovered too!! Right now I am just waiting for UPS to arrive with my delivery of Christmas smelling Yankee Candles, autumn has definately arrived here now so I thought I would change the scents I burn!

Tomorrow Pete and I are going to Alton Towers for the scare fest. We were supposed to go earlier in the week but Pete had to do some things for the theatre. They are open until 9pm so I plan to take my camera and get some nice pictures too.

Slo Thanks for the offer of sending things from America. I might take you up on that at some point. Right now we are in the middle of a postal strike so mail is really unreliable around the UK right now.

Well I guess I should get on, I need to do a little more housework. I am trying to sort my shoes out in my wardrobe and get rid of some I haven't worn for ages to make more room!!

Wow quiet weekend!! I guess everyone was busy trick or treating with halloween!! We didn't get any trick or treaters which is kind of what I expected. We do have a few young kids in the street now so I wasn't sure if any of them would come round, but they did not.

I had a really productive day today, we decided to totally sort out and clean our bedroom. I sorted my wardrobe out (I didn't realise I had so many shoes!!), took 3 bags of clothes to the charity clothes bank and even hoovered out the bottom of the wardrobe and cleaned all the shelves. I sorted out under the bed (got some new storage boxes to put things in), moved all the furniture (including the bed) and cleaned the whole carpet. So now our bedroom is sparkling clean and very organised. I have been meaning to do this for a long time, so I am glad we finally got around to doing this.

For the rest of the evening I am having a relax, we are back at work tomorrow and tomorrow my new assistant starts. I met her just over a week ago and she seems nice. She has never worked in a school before so will need lots of direction which I will have to remember having had the same assistant for the past 11 years (I had to give her very little direction, more of a daily discussion of what we were doing and she just got on with it.) I am still keeping my other assistant who I worked with a little last year and we both asked to work together this year as we work really well together. She is very very good at her job, but is not very confident in her abilities. So I think mentoring the new assistant will do her the world of good as she will have to take the lead now when I am not in the classroom.

Well off to soak in the bath I think!!

Fall break is over
I love it when the girls are on break!!!

Halloween was a ton of fun here
Trick-or-Treating with our friends/neighbors was a blast, and then our little party outside was great fun too. Kevin made chili, hot apple cider, and some bacon/pepper wraps (homemade), one neighbor brought hot dip and hot dogs, and the other neighbor brought more apple cider and dessert - everything was awesome!!!! I wish it was a little warmer, but that's okay, we still had fun anyway!!!

Yesterday was a beautiful fall day!!!!
The girls played outside all day, and Kevin and I were busy setting up the new display he built me. I'm having the store in a bridal fair Wednesday, and that's what he built the display for. It's going to be really kickbutt at this fair - I"m excited!!!!!

It's time for me to get Katie up for school, which won't be easy, because she was really really tired last night.

Oh....funny story......this morning at 5:45 am Stephanie's alarm clock is going off, and was for a long time, because I didn't hear it right away. So I realized I didn't change her clock So I rushed in there and Stephanie, half asleep, is looking at me and asking me, "What's wrong?! What's wrong?!" so I told her to go back to sleep, of which she did. I felt bad that I did that, but oh well, apparently she's not losing sleep over it, because she's sound asleep up there

Well my 1st day with my new assistant went well, she seems really compitent and really good. Work was interesting though as the building work started today. I had lorries going right past my window this morning, then at break time I was on duty and the whole time 3 builders were just stood there drinking tea! Then we had to all leave work by 5pm as they wanted to turn the main power off! We have 5 months of this!!

Slo We ended up not going to Alton Towers in the end because the weather was awful. launching at 100kmph on a rollercoaster into pouring rain is not fun!!

This evening I haven't got that much to do apart from a little housework. I got my new laptop at work today so Pete is going to set it up this evening, then our technician can install all the school based software when he is in.

Morning..

well one of the ladies at Meals on Wheels has been sick and over the weekend, she when to the hospital.. she is having a miss.I am so sorry for her to loose the baby.. but they called me at 9 am yesterday and asked if I could work.. so I'll be there for at least a week full time as there are only 2 of us - me and the director.

Sunday, I was driving Eric to pole vaulting in Naperville and the car started to shake and shake bad.. so I took the car in yesterday morning and it needs about $2 K worth of fixing.. and the Honda is only worth $2500.. so.. after Meals on Wheels today, I am getting the title and looking at replacing it.. I anm sad because i wanted to keep the car another 2 years while eric was home and driving.. but since it needs brakes, struts, tires, timing belt and water pump and more.. i'll get a new(ish) car.. ..

going to see Geoff for parents weekend and will take the bus.. 8 hours one way.. but i can't drive the Honda and he has my van.. so.. i'll leave at 6 am to get to the bus at 6:40 and then it leaves at 7 am and arrives at Iowa City at 2:45 pm.. and I'll wait until he is out of class at 3 pm and comes and gets me..

OK, so I have a new adiction on facebook, Farmville. I can't stop playing it!! One of the girls at work asked if I would be her neighbour so I said I would join the game yesterday and now I can't stop!!

GeffricSorry about the car. At least you might be able to have a relax on the bus ride instead of having to drive.

Today is the bridal fair
I am really nervous, and I don't know why
I guess I want to make such a good impression, that I want to make sure everything is perfect
Luckily, I have friends next to me (photographers) that will help me set up, and then after Kevin is done at work, he'll come help me in the evening.
It should be an interesting night!!!!!


Speaking of Kevin working - he's been unemployeed since March 30th, and he's back to work He's doing exactly what he loves to do, and it's for a company sorta close to home (approx 1/2 hour away). We are hoping and praying that this economy treats this job much better than it treated the old job



Time to run, and get ready for this L O N G day.
I sure hope I am home by 10pm, because that will be to long if I'm not.

Slo Congratulations on kevin getting a job!! Whoooo. I hope the bridal fair went well.

Yesterday was a really good day for us. We finally got to see Andrea Bocelli sing. The concert was amazing, he had an orchestra and 2 guest sopranos and a flautist. He sang a mixture of songs, including some from his new Christmas album.

This evening will also be fun as it is bonfire night here in England. So this evening we should see lots of fireworks which will be nice. The boating lake near house has a huge display every year with a big bonfire. So the cats are locked in the house and are not happy!!

Yay, it's Friday!! I have a busy weekend ahead. This evening I need to do some more housework and get the guest room tidy (at the moment the bed is piled with either Christmas presents that we have already got or things we need to put up in the loft.) Tomorrow my parents, Pete's parents, my SIL, BIL, nephew and 5 friends are coming over for a bonfire night fireworks party. We are having lots of fireworks that we set off on the field next to our house and food; cheese soup from le Cellier, a BBQ and jacket potatoes, traditional parkin cake and hot drinks (inc mulled wine!) Yesterday we watched the fireworks from our house that our town had which were really good. So all in all the Guy Fawkes celebrations will be nice.

Well seen as I have housework to do I should make dinner then get on. Oh and I also need to go to facebook to check on my farmville farm, I am addicted to that game!!

March of the Penguins was on the Weather Channel last night, and I watched it. Have any of you see this movie? The movie itself is kinda boring, but the information is incredible!!! I will never look at penguins the same way again - what an incredible animal!!! I really learned something last night!!!!

My day is starting out rather crappy.
I woke up at 2am, and have been up ever since
Needless to say - I'm tired!!!!!
I finally decided to watch tv at 3:30am, and Law & Order was TNT and USA - that show is always on!!!!! I like these shows, I do, but cable overplays them - it seems like they are always on. Then, on some weekends, they play Law & Order marathons - for what!!!!! They already overplay them!!!!! Surely, there are other things these channels can play. Since that was the only thing on, that's what I watched until 5am


Yesterday was a good day, and a beautiful day
We were outside until dark - it was great!!!!
Kevin helped me get rid of the leaves in the backyard, and then we went next door and hung out over there. I came in at dark, but Kevin didn't come in until 10pm. The men were out there watching football, and lighting fireworks - they are so goofy!!!!!


Well, it's time to go get Katie up for school

Just popping by to say Hi and check in with you guys.

Pete comes home in 11 days. yea!!!! It has been a long 6 mos. The day after he returns we do a quickie at WDW for Lauren's b day. wow. time flys

Preparing for a storm. Of course the weather guys got us all up in arms and the grocery store was packed. I drug in all the patio furniture etc now they are saying it won't be too bad. ugh.

Off to get the batrhooms cleaned. Lots to do.

I went to bed at 8:30pm last night, because I was so tired from waking up at 2am yesterday morning. I didn't fall asleep right away, but it felt good going to bed that early. I did wake up a couple times last night, but I didn't stay up, so last night was much better
