Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

I've been watching that too, only I had to turn the sound down! It looks like a fun idea though!! I love the outside of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, I think it is my favourite one.

Nothing much is happening here today, just the usual laundry, grocers shop run, cleaning. Very boring really! Once the laundry is done I think I might start to lay out the clothes to pack in the guest room. I have sorted out my pin trading bag to take with me to do some pin trading this trip, I have never done it at WDW before but did some last year at DL and DLRP so that should be fun. I have done a little trading over the internet in the past few weeks and this morning 8 pins arrived that I had traded for. I think I might need to get a new pin trading bag when we are in the parks next week!!

What an awesome day yesterday - we finally had heat!!!! :sunny:
I was floating in my pool from noon until 4:30pm, and then I still stayed in the pool and played with the kids for awhile. My neighbor came over late in the afternoon with her kids, and we spent some time with them. We ended up coming inside at around 6:45pm - it was a great great great day!!!!:cool1:

Hi to everyone - :wave2::grouphug:

It's time for me to sign off and get ready for work
I have a lot to do, since I didn't go in yesterday. I have to really make sure I work quickly today, because I have to leave right at 5pm, so I can go register Katie for school - they start next week:eek::sad1:

Have a good day!!!

Slo I'm glad you had an awsome day on Sunday. We still aren't exactly having summer weather here!!

Today I am just spending the day doing little jobs. Pete's parents are coming tomorrow to visit so I need to make sure the house is spotless! We started sorting our clothes out to pack yesterday and realised we still needed to get a few things, so we will go and get them today, then I will pack tomorrow. The airlines have reduced the weight limit since last year and I am a little worried they will be too heavy! We can take 2 cases per person, but we prefer to just take 1 as then we can take the cases onto the monorail at MCO rather than having to put them on the belt a 2nd time. I can't decide wether to take 3 cases or just pay the $50 excess to have a heavier case.

Well I guess I better hit the shower and get on with my day. Have a great day everyone.

Hello from Disneyland! We're having a great time. The kids have been waking us up every morning around 6am , and so the day begins.

Spent Sunday at California Adventure after breakfast at Storytellers. Ian loved flying on Soarin', but Sophia's still a little too small for it. She was so excited to meet Cinderella, though. I got some great pictures of them. Went on Monsters ride - Ian had to do it twice. David managed to snag some priority seating for us at the Aladdin show when he was picking up "1st Visit" buttons for the kids. We sat right in the center of the 2nd row. Both kids were mesmerized and wanted to stay for another showing. Then we headed to bug land where Sophia napped and Ian rode most of the rides. We watched the parade - which was lots of fun - then headed out to find dinner at DD.

Yesterday we went for an early morning swim, had the pools to ourselves. Then we went to DL for the day. After singing along with the birds in Tiki Room we met Jasmine and Aladdin. We rode Pirates before lunch at Blue Bayou. Ian rode rode again with OF, Sophia didn't want to. She fell asleep after that so Ian and I went in the Hunny Pots through the Winnie the Pooh ride. Then we claimed a nice shady bench on the Parade route. OF took Ian on the double-decker bus while I sat with a sleeping Sophisa. When she woke, OF stayed with the strollers while I took the kids on Small World. (Definitely better at DL than WDW!) Picked up Mickey Bars on the way back to the bench and OF. YUM! YUM! Being that the Parade was a standing only thing, the kids and I found some spots right on the curb. Sophia even got involved and took part in the conga line. Then we headed to the Nemo ride. Sophia was quite sad that Nemo didn't come with us when the ride was over. It was so sweet. Went on Autopia next. Sophia drove a car for the first time - and it was quite obvious. :lmao:Ian's a "pro" at it now. I love that they hand out driver's license cards to everyone that rides. Found dinner, took OF on Small World, then stayed for fireworks. Sophia fell asleep long before they started, Ian fell asleep during. I think "Wishes" is better, but this show was good too. It was a long day, but very fun.

Now to start over again - though today is going to be more laid back. We have lunch plans with a high school friend of OF's - a police officer. So we're gonna wander the hotel and maybe one of the other ones before we meet up. Haven't decided which park we'll hit later today.

Glad you are having fun at Disneyland RRBB, I love eating at Storytellers and Blue Bayou!! I agree the Aladdin show is amazing (we too managed to get VIP passes for it when we were there), I love the genie and the carpet!! I also love Toon Town at Disneyland, much better than the one at WDW.

Well I managed to get everything I needed today, so we have everything ready to pack tomorrow. Then I see if the cases are too heavy and if we need to get the 3rd one down from the loft!!

Thanks for checking in.. sounds like everyone is having fun..say hi to Mickey for me..

DanaUK - packing yet?? Soon for your trip..

Cases are out, items are on the bed in the spare room ready for packing and I just need to pack. The weight limit has been reduced since last time I flew so I am trying to pack less (I have a habit of buying too much on vacation and having to buy a new suitcase for the return journey!!)

We almost got hit with a fee last month---pushed the weight limit on our biggest bag. Southwest was nice and not charge us at the counter.

sounds like a plan for a new case and lots of stuff..

have fun. what is another $50 in the grand scheme of things..

The weight limit is actually quite generous still really. It used to be 2 cases per person at 32kg, but we only ever took 2 and nestled a small case inside the bigger so we had a spare on the return. Now they have reduced it to 2 cases at 23kg, which is more than generous, I just don't want to take 4 cases! If your case is over 23kg you pay $50, I'm not sure if I want to just pay the money and take less cases! Plus I don't actually think 4 cases would fit in my parents car with me, Pete, my mum and dad on the way to and from the airport!!

Danauk--- Bring half as many clothes and buy some clothes here for less money for the same luggage space.

The Irish cousins had to buy more luggage during their last visit. They hit the malls and thrift stores and made out with the Euro to Dollar.

See thats my problem, thats what I do!! Although the exchange rate isn't as good as last year. Last August we got $1 - £2, now $1 = £1.64. But things are still cheaper, although this year we aren't planning mall trips. I need to diet 1st and do the mall trip when we come back for Christmas 2010!!

I thought I saw almost 2 pounds to a dollar...remember new store at DTD- Trend D.
The laundry room was pretty decent back in 2005---near the pool /Zebra Trail...unless they moved it when the Jambo converted most of the rooms into DVC.

When we go in the summer...we do laundry because we shower multiple times and change at least twice a day because of the heat.

When we go we usually do a few loads of laundry when we are there as we have a washing machine and dryer in our 2 bedroomed villa. I have packed some hand wash liquid and some pegs so we can hand wash clothes in the evening then hang them on the drying line over the bath. I have to change all my clothes mid day too, being in the same set of clothes all day in the Florida humidity is just yukky!!

My mum phoned this morning to say that my grandma (who has dementia and lives in a nursing home) had a mini stroke yesterday, although today she seems to be doing a little better. I am worried now that something will happen when we are in America and if it does we will not be able to get back. I am really not sure what to do.

So sorry to hear that Dana

Morning.. what NC Belle said is what I was gonna say..

anyway, having been in AKV.. they need hooks in the bath area.. so be aware ( or they did in Jambo House)..we change a lot too.. love my DVC

We are starting to plan our next WDW trip for the first week of October (my birthday week was not available for him).

:cheer2:

Hi TAGLIARCHY!

We're having a great time here at Disneyland, though today started off on a not so great not. OF lost his park pass and had to buy another for the last 3 days of our trip. Real bummer. But the rest of the day was fun. We had breakfast at Paradise Pier Hotel - PCH Grill - with Lilo & Stitch. The kids had a great time interacting with the characters, especially Minnie and Daisy. ("Minnie" was actually on the cruise with us last year. She gave the signs that she remembered Sophia.)

Afterwards we headed back to Disneyland and made our way around most of Fantasyland. Ian rode the Materhorn - twice. We did the baby swap thing because Sophia was just a bit too small to ride, plus she didn't want to. But then we did her choice, the tea cups, and rode the carousel. Ian was a crazy driver in Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. But while waiting in line for Casey Jr.'s train, Sophia decided she didn't want to go on so we headed back to the hotel while Ian and OF rode it. We got side-tracked though, and met Cinderella's Fairy Godmother before leaving the park.

This evening we had dinner at Ariel's Grotto. Sophia was in heaven meeting all the princesses at once. She told each one about her pretty "dress" and necklace. (Her dress was actually a nightgown we found at World of Disney. She didn't like any of the actual princess dresses because they were all to itchy. And this "dress" was half the price, though still 3x as much at the nightgowns I've bought for her at Walmart.) Sophia knows so much about each princess that she kept asking where other characters were from their stories.

After dinner we rode the carousel and Sophia didn't want to get off. But we made her come with us to check out Toy Story Mania. She through a major fit when I made her sit with me, but when the car started to move she sat there mesmarized. And by the end she said she wanted to go again. What a silly girl. We let her ride the carousel once more before heading back to the hotel. We'll have to catch the Electric Light Parade another night, because all we saw of it tonight was the back of the last float as we followed around to the hotel entrance area.

Okay, quick question for all you that know both WDW and DL. Is there any difference between the Peter Pan ride at the parks? What about Snow White? We're trying to decide if it's worth it to spend the time in these lines here or wait until October when we're out at WDW.
