Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Evening everyone, just dropping by quickly before my friends arrive for dinner in 45 minutes time. Well today was a good day at work. Firstly we have broken up now for a weeks holiday and secondly I had my maths lesson observed today by the head teacher and the deputy head (all teachers were observed this week for our performance management) and it was graded outstanding, the highest grade possible which is extremily hard to get! Myself and my 2 assistants were so pleased!

Slo I really enjoyed the Da Vinci Code book, but preferred Angels and Deamons. We have booked to go see that at the cinema on Tuesday which I am looking forward to.

Cheeringmom Hope you had fun shopping!!

Well I better go and quickly zoom the hoover around before my friends arrive! Have a nice evening everyone.

Happy Evening..

been busy here the past few days.. MoW Thurday til 2 pm, a quick pick up and then the band arrived for dinner and a practice session.. did I mention that I bring home food sometimes ( from Meals on wheels) So yesterday I brought home a french bread, croisents and muffins.. that changed dinner, I went to euro fresh and got 1 lb of turkey for 2.99 and 1 lb of ham for same, made pototo salad and had a wonderful meal..

anyway, today I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned.. then took the band to a guitar store that was having a sale, back to each members house for them to drop off stuff and pick up stuff.. then onto one of the band memebrs for a sleepover..Eric got a call to umpire a game tomorrow and Geoff and Scott will be working at an Eagle project..

Tomorrow , I will be laundry/errands/grocery shopping and doing the pck up and drop off routine... The band plays tomorrow night so I will cart them around and back too..

But in the car today, Eric and Geoff ( not mine but the one we are taking to WDW) mentioned that they wanted to look at U of FL on the way down.. so I checked the website.. only have tours 10 am and 2 pm.. not sure how we can leave at 1pm from NW suburban CHi ( after finals from summer school) and get to Gainesville the next day by 1:30 pm...

anyway.. how are things at your end??

DanaUK .. congrats on the good reviews

Belle - any further update on FIL

Hi everyone. I feel like I have been MIA.

Nothing much happening - just busy. We drove to California last weekend and did not go to Disneyland. We were just in town for our nephew's graduation from USC.

One afternoon with 9 people in two cars we went to Hollywood (saw the set up for the 'UP' red carpet premiere at the El Capitian Theatre - TOO cute), went to Venice Beach, ate in Malibu, walked around Santa Monica, went back to our hotel in downtown - then went for ice cream in Westwood. Too much driving.

I think we may finally take the plunge and do a trip to WDW. I am thinking about 8 night in October.

I am off work for the coming week - I am going to the end of year parties in my daughters' classes.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Stephanie had a great time yesterday - she now wants to be a race car driver :car: She said that Kevin explained a lot to her, so she always knew what was going on:). This was a great experience for her, because she has never had a day trip with her dad, because I am normally always with. This was a big step for me to let her go, because I was very nervous about her going into busy bathrooms alone, but she did okay, and I will not worry next time. :thumbsup2

cheeringmom - How are the termites by you? Have they gone away yet?

Danauk - Congrats on your "outstanding" review!!!!:cheer2::cheer2:
*I am looking forward to reading Angels and Demons, but I'm going to read a business book first. After each entertaining book, I'm going to read an educational book (I really don't want to, but I need to learn).
*I hope you had fun with your friends last night.

geffric - Where is the band playing this weekend?

BB - Have a great week off work!!!!

Well, I must go get ready for work
Have a great day!!!

We will probably just miss you. If we do make the trip - I think we will arrive on the 10th. That would be a bummer to be so close to a disser (I have never met one) and actually see one.

Good afternoon everyone,
What a beautiful day it is here in the middle of England. It is about 75-80 degrees outside right now and not a cloud in the sky. We hare having a BBQ for lunch and I have just enjoyed a small glass of chilled white wine whilst sitting on my swing seat (I'm dissing from there right now!) This morning we put a fence around another flower bed so the bunnies can not get on to it, plus we moved all the cobbles from a 3rd bed. Then once the heat of the day is over we plan to plant a bamboo in the 3rd bed, put weed membrane down, put the cobbles back on and fence that one off. Then all we need to do is take all the rubbish down to the tip on Tuesday and the back garden is done for now (well until July when we are taking down our shed, putting a deck and pergola where the shed currently is and adding a bridge to it over the pond! Pete wants to hang festune lights along the pergola too to give it a Boardwalk look!)

I hope everyone else is having a lovely weekend.

FIL update--- he had a great weekend. He was able to go out yesterday to eat steamed crabs with some buddies. Today, the son that still lives nearby them grilled chicken. MIL is so excited about a couple of the Irish cousins coming to visit at the end of June. FIL was allowed to enjoy some gin and tonics. We are going up in a couple weeks for a short visit. We don't want to wear him out before the Irish folks and the grandkids from TX come to visit them.

NC Beast bbq yesterday. :goodvibes He was busy with mowing half of the yard today and putting out red ant baits (lot of ant hills in the way backyard).

We may allow ourselves a short WDW trip in the fall---used up a lot of available days for the various MD trips.

maybe we can meet at the airport as you are coming and I am leaving..

What about iBounce??? she counts as a DISer..

NC B- great news about FIL..

Afternoon everyone,
I've had quite a productive day today. I have done some spring cleaning around the house (washed rugs, curtains etc), we got all the garden waste to the tip and Pete is just finishing wiring in the last set of garden lights and speakers (yes our garden has a sound system, not my idea!!), so this evening the garden should look like what we wanted it to (well for now, untill we do our deck and pergola over the summer!!) I also made 3 tshirts for our WDW trip today (I'll take some pics later, I am quite impressed with them!)
Tomorrow I need to do a little shopping, I need a few summer tshirts/tops then we are going out tomorrow afternoon to see Angels and Demons followed by dinner at my favourite restaurant, Frankie and Benny's (do you have them in America? It is American/Italian food, the theme is Italians arriving in New York.)

Belle Thats good to hear about your FIL, I hope he has a nice time with his grand children when they visit.

Well I better go and make dinner. Have a nice evening.

Sorry I haven't checked in since Saturday.
On Sunday and Monday I was having computer issues, and couldn't get online. This was fine, because Sunday I didn't feel good, and went back to bed (woke up with a headache), and then I took the girls summer shoe shopping (I"m so glad summer shoes are so cheap), and then I spent the rest of the day outside trimming bushes and picking weeds and leaves. Monday I worked all day. So, I've been keeping busy!!!!!

geffric - Do the boys get paid to play, or do they do this as a hobby?

Danauk - Your yard sounds so beautiful :goodvibes Alot of things you are doing, are things that I would like to do someday. You'll need to take some pictures after all your improvements are done.

Belle - I'm glad to hear your FIL has been having some good times :goodvibes My continued prayers are with him.

To everyone else - :wave2:

Sorry this is so short, but I gotta run and get ready for my Leads Group at 7:30am. I really do enjoy this group - very nice people!!!! I hope I am able to generate some business through it {{fingers crossed}}

Have a good day!!!

Good afternoon everyone,
Last night Pete and I went to the cinema to see Angels and Demons. I loved the book when I read it, but that was ages ago so I had atually forgotten a lot of the plot! The film was really good, although seen as we saw the set at Sony last summer when we toured there all I could think of was the fact that it wasn't the vatican we were seeing, it was some painted (although beautifully!) pieces of wood on a sound stage! Ewan McGroggor was really good in the film though.

Today I had set aside to do school work. Then the inlaws phoned and they are coming over for lunch so I have spent the morning doing more housework as well (which I had intended to do tomorrow, but at least it is done now!)

Well, better go and set the table, the inaws are here!

I'm so tired this morning - so so tired!!!!

The pool is officially open, which means that summer has begun at our house :cool1: Now we just need some heat, and some sunshine, and it'll be all good :sunny: Plus, the quicker that comes, the sooner my girls will stop asking me "when can we go in the pool"

Danauk - I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. I will be getting the book soon - I'm really looking forward to it, since I really enjoyed The DaVinchi Code.
*I don't like getting interrupted when I have something I want to do, but sometimes you can't control it. I hope you had a nice lunch with your inlaws, and that you were still able to get your school work done.

Well, I'm off to make Stephanie her lunch - I can hardly wait until
summer break - just 3 more weeks!!!!!:woohoo::yay:
Have a good day!!

Geffric, let me know if you want sam's email address. She was a tour leader for 4 years. They may have other tours not put out onthe public forums...

cheeringmom - How are the termites by you? Have they gone away yet?
hahahaha Yep! I always complained about those suckers on FB. Now it is spiders...not inthe house though-at least I hope not! They are making webs in our porch area. When I go out to get the paper in the am I walk into them YUCK!

We will probably just miss you. If we do make the trip - I think we will arrive on the 10th. That would be a bummer to be so close to a disser (I have never met one) and actually see one.
I am still up in the air about our girls only trip in October. Not sure when Pete will get back from deployment. But it would be great to meet up!

.
great news Belle.

And DANA., I think I am about the only person in he world that did not watch the Divinci Code or read any of the books. I heard Angels and Demons was really good though

off to start the day. Tom has a scholarship ceremony today and I will teach a class tonight at church. Busy. TTFN

So seen as I have been talking about the garden work and installation of our new pond I thought I would take a few pictures to show you all. The pets were out in the garden at the time so a few of those are in the pictures too!

The shed that is covered in ivy in this picture is coming down in about 8 weeks time and we are building a deck there to put the table and chairs on. There will be a pergola (like over the swing seat) over the whole structure with lights on it and a walk way over the pond to get on to it. We have 3 weeks between finishing school and going to WDW to get that done!

garden003-1.jpg

As you can see gardens in England are much smaller than in America! Our garden is a little bigger than most in our street though as we have a path down the side of our house to get to it so it makes our garden a little wider. Also you might be able to see a few statues in the garden which I like to add. My latest is this one that my best friends brought me back from Epcot 2 weeks ago!!

A Mickey garden gnome!! :rotfl:

Geffric, let me know if you want sam's email address. She was a tour leader for 4 years. They may have other tours not put out onthe public forums...

CMOM will Sam be down at U of F July 23rd?? I thought she graduated and was off to better or different things? We are trying to make the 2 pm tour. Gonna be lots of hauling and not a lot of stopping to get there..

wonderful pic DanaUK.. thanks for sharing and great pic of the bunnies..PS any time you wanna come to chi and do our garden that would be great. I promise to out you and Pete up in the house and cook for you.. ;):dance3:

:wave2:

Danauk--- love the garden pictures.

MIL called today after her Weight Watchers meeting----she lost 4 pounds. FIL had a rough couple of mornings, but tonight he perked up when NC Beast called them.

I've gotta share with how much I love my friend:goodvibes
She gave me 5 bags of clothes for my girls (her DD's old/outgrown clothes) and these bags were STUFFED with clothes. I bet there was a $1000 worth of clothes in these bags:eek:. Both of my girls were so excited with their new clothes:woohoo:, and I am so grateful to her!!!!:goodvibes She doesn't come on here, but I just wanted to share with how awesome she is - I am very blessed to have her!!!!:goodvibes

Stephanie has an early day today.
There is a special breakfast today just for student council (she is vice-president). I am so proud of her for being a part of this, because it has been a great experience for her. She has loved it, and I'm hoping that she will want to be a part of it again in middle school (this is her last year at elementary school).

cheeringmom - I'm glad the termites are gone :woohoo:Yuck with the spiders though - I hate them!!!!!:scared:

Danauk - The garden is just awesome:):thumbsup2!!!! You really inspire me to do more with my yard. Thanks for taking those picturs and posting them for us to see.

geffric - :wave2:

Belle - I'm glad your FIL was happy to hear from your DH.

Well, I must go get Stephanie going, we need to leave by 7:10am:eek:
Have a good day!!!

Can I brag about my child for a second?!
Stephanie, and other students, signed up to work the school blood drive yesterday (this was after school, and she has done this before). She was the ONLY child that stayed after school to work. When one of her teachers drove her to the store, she paid Stephanie so many compliments. She told her how awesome she is, and how responsible she is, and that she's just a great person (this isn't the first teacher to tell me this. In fact, her art teacher was in the store the same day, and was telling me how great she is too). I was so proud of her, and she was beaming too!!! School comes very hard to her, she's not a straight A student, but I've told her that people aren't going to remember her for her grades, they are going to remember her by the things she's done. She's such a great people person, and I'm always working with her on how to become a better people person, because I know that whatever she does in her adult life, will center around helping people - that's just her personality. Anyway, I just wanted to share, because I'm very proud of her!!!

It's time to go make Stephanie's lunch - mother hubbards cubbard is pretty bare, so I'm not sure what I'm going to give her :scratchin
Have a good day!!!
