Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Welcome back NCB . we missed you. How is FIL doing? and you how are you doing with everything going on??

FIL is doing okay---almost over his pneumonia and upset that he could loose his hair on the chemo (his hair is thin anyway...plans to buy wigs/hats). He gets absentminded at times, not much appetite, and it takes a lot to get him to feel that okay to just sit down and relax. He does not like missing out on some activities like a monthly dinner get-together with some group from one of the churches. He and MIL had to spend a lot last week on car repairs and the beach condo (new windows fund). 2 of NC Beast's brothers are helping in the finanacial planning/other paperwork since they are experts. They don't want to think about hospice even though the doctors recommending to think about it.

I just tired. MIL is constantly on the go and the land line and the cell phone seem to ring a lot. She is upset about us not wanting to live up there and about us not finding the right church yet. One of NC Beast's cousins' reaction to hearing about my sister being married/having her firstborn was funny. He said that he could not believe that a guy would allow my crazy/wild sister's hooks to get into him (this cousin is a bit wild himself). My Sis-in-law understands me and hugged me a lot since she is having mother/sibling issues herself at this time.

:grouphug: I can understand why your tired from all of this.. that is a lot going on all at the same time..:grouphug:

What a yucky morning!!!!!!
I wish I could just crawl back in bed and stay there!!!!!

This year I took the extra Christmas socks out of the attic, so I could pre-stuff them, so yesterday morning I did Stephanie's stocking:thumbsup2 This morning I'm going to Wal-Mart before I go to work, and I'm getting the rest of Katie's stocking items, and then I will stuff her's tomorrow. Now I have 2 less things to do on Christmas Eve:woohoo: Why didn't I think of this in past years???? :confused3

My mom and dad took Daisy :dog: to The University of Illinois yesterday and they did not receive good news :sad2: Daisy has several tumors and they are bleeding inside her. The university said there's nothing they can do:guilty: They gave Daisy about 2 months to live:sad1: As sad as this is, I'm glad that my mom doesn't have to make any decisions about putting her to sleep. Daisy can go home and live her life until she's to sick to go on (I guess eventually this will happen), and then my mom will have to put her to sleep. I'm just praying now that she can make it through Christmas, so my mom and dad can have one last Christmas with her.

Hey gang!
I'm back.
:)
We had a blast.
Weather was not the best but we still had a great time.
WDW at Christmas time is beautiful!
And the cruise was great.
Welcome home!!!! :wave2:
Details...give us details!!!!!

Welcome back Wallyb!

We got home last night after 11pm---took 7 hours with traffic and dinner. We are so tired today. FIL is experiencing some issues as he has to get off his high blood pressure medicine for his chemo/experimental drug study that should start in a week or so. He had a blast Sunday with 3 out of 4 sons there plus 2 out of 3 grandsons plus me watching the Eagles/Giants game.

I spent a lot of the time with my niece---playing Rummy-O, seeing the new house/her rooms), dressing her up for the father/daughter dance (she had a tierra for it), and watching her sing with the choir. NC Beast and I gave her an Advent chocolate count-down calender...her mom and dad are real happy. :rolleyes1 Well, Sis-in-law had to go out of town again so daddy has to deal with the sugar rush. Dniece has been diagnosed with Lyme disease so she needs a little spoiling (1 month of anti-biotic chewables).
Welcome home!!!!! :wave2:
I'm glad you got to spend some time with your niece - that's nice!!!!:goodvibes That's a shame about her being sick though - I hope she feels better soon:wizard: I will also continue to keep your FIL in my prayers:angel:

Well, I gotta go get ready for work, because I'm leaving early to go to Wal-Mart. Have a good day!!!

Just wanted to say good morning to everyone and hope everyone is having a good day except for being up this early. I'm doing pretty good, I appreciate all of you offering to talk with me; I may still do that just to get some things off of my chest but for the most part I think I am going to be okay.

Good Morning everyone (well its actually afternoon here).

I just wanted to wish all of you that are having a tough time at the moment my best wishes. I know that probably doesn't mean much to you, especially since I am new here, but you are all in my thought and prayers, and hope things can get better for you soon. If anyone needs to talk I am always here.

Thanks, I love it here, everyone is so lovely :goodvibes

So yesterday was our 'Christmas Day'. Every year Nick and I have a Christmas day where we put all our decorations up, watch some Christmas films, listen to Christmas songs and have our own Christmas dinner. We used to have it because when we were at University we used to spend Christmas with our own families, so it was our chance to have our own Christmas together. Now we spend it with my family but its so hectic, and its just become a kind of tradition. It helps to get us in the holiday spirit :santa:.

So yesterday we started our day at Starbucks for a Christmas panini and coffee. We love Starbucks anyway but at Christmas it rocks, its so festive and reminds me of being at University. Then we went and got our tree. I wasn't looking forward to this as last year it took us hours and endless visits to every garden center and shop in a 30 mile radius, it was stressful to say the least. Well the first place we went to, and the first tree we saw, we brought :thumbsup2. It was great, if a little short and uneven for my perfectionism, but I have been a little bit under the weather and didn't have the energy to spend endless hours of tree searching to probably end up with one not much better. So we carted the tree home, got out the decorations and put on the Christmas songs, and started to decorate. Now since we had been so successful with finding our tree our was hoping this process was going to be pretty simple.... Wrong. Firstly we had a not-so-quick detour to 2 different Tesco's, Woolworths and Sainsburys for some more lights as 1 of our set had stopped working. We once again came home and got decorating. Then we took about 3 hours on just the lights, which even after buying more we still didn't have enough. And then there was the whole big decision of whether to have tinsel or not. Who ever knew that something as fun as decorating a Christmas tree could be so stressful. Well I then got to do the fun bit and put on the decorations, then arranged the fireplace which is my favorite part. Finally around midnight we were done. The cats love it and find it great fun to pull the decorations that were so meticulously placed off again. But as of yet no major disasters. I will post some pictures soon but need to get the presents wrapped and under first.

I love all the lead up to Christmas, not only is it such a magical time of year, but helps pass the time a little quicker, which is always a blessing where Disney holidays are concerned. And I love just sitting here looking at the tree, the lights twinkling, the stockings hung on the fire filled with Disney cheer. Only 16 more days till Christmas, and only 137 more days till WDW..

Seewhattimesdone ~ Thanks for all the information. I know, its tragic we have never been skiing, but then we dont get enough snow in our country to do it here. We planned to go to Colorado skiing a few years ago but ended up going to Disney World instead. I was beginning to think that maybe we should look into another area of Canada as I've heard people say its really expensive and things, but after what you have said I think Whistler's the best decision. A condo sounds good as there will be 5 of us but I also really like the look of some of the hotels. At the moment I am looking at the Fairmont Chateau, Four Seasons or Westin, all of which look beautiful. The Fairmont is winning at the moment if its not going to be stupidly expensive, and because were thinking of going for Christmas it looks like they have lots going on there. Then again it would be nice to have a bit more space like a condo would give being Christmas, that way we could decorate and have space for opening presents and things. Do you know what company you used for your condo?

The Fairmont is really nice and it's in a good location. I'll ask my mom what the name of the condos were :) We just walked outside and there was a little bus that came around every few minutes to take people to the slopes. It took less than ten minutes for us to get there so it's a good place to stay.

I finished buying Katie's stocking stuffers yesterday, and now I get to stuff it this morning, and then that's done:woohoo: I'm going to wrap Santas gifts at work, so that means I may not have to be up until 2am on Christmas Eve:yay:

YenSid - I"m glad you are feeling a little better :grouphug:

geffric - :wave2:

Ariel - Please don't think we look at you like an outcast because you are new. Life geffric said, we were all new once :) We value you here, and you are now part of the Tag family :grouphug:
**I'm glad you had a nice 'Christmas day' :santa:

SeeWhat - :wave2:

Well, I gotta go get some laundry started
Have a good day!!

Ariel- I am still new myself, only been around maybe a month or two at most so don't worry about it.

Slo- Thanks for the hugs, doing better, just going to take some time to heal but everything is looking good so far.

Everyone else- Good morning and hope you have a great day.

Seewhattimesdone ~ Thanks for the help again. The condo's sound good, then again so does the Fairmont. Decisions, decisions.

Anyway how is school going? How long have you got left?

Slo ~ Thank you for your kind words. I am very honored to be part of your tag family :grouphug:

I hope everyone has a good day :goodvibes
Nick had planned to take me to the zoo today (he knows how much I love it), but I have been a bit under the weather and an early start was really not appealing. So we are going to go next week instead and we have planned to go and do some Christmas shopping and have a nice lunch out instead.

Ariel - I personally like condo because I like the washer and dryer and more room and the kitchen..just MHO..

Morning all.. hope everyone is doing okay..we had a big storm last night and then the temps dropped so it was -7 with wind chill this am .. BBRRR..

and of course the big news is that our governor is making the news again ... why do we elect these crooks anyway..

SeeWhat - :wave2:

Morning Slo :wave2: I'm glad you can get the Christmas wrapping done so you don't have to be up all night! :faint:

Morning! :goodvibes

Either way they are both great options. I still need to get that name for you! The resorts that are right on the mountain are great though when you've had a long day and you can just ski right up to it.

School is tiring me out! :faint: I'm running around trying to finish everything up as the semester is ending. But I only have five days left of classes so that's awesome! Thanks for asking :goodvibes

That is a big bonus :thumbsup2

Geffric ~ Condo's do have some good plus sides, like a kitchen area would be quite good. Then again when we are on vacation we don't really like to cook or do laundry. And if we had a kitchen then I think my Mum might be tempted to spend every night cooking. But obviously condo's have more space, which would be really nice around Christmas since we want a tree, and rooms to open presents etc.

And -7, that is pretty cold :scared1:. I thought it was bad over here.

Seewhattimesdone ~ Yes the name of those condo's would be great, but no rush. Glad to hear schools nearly out, then you can enjoy the holidays and get yoursel properly sorted for WDW, how exciting :dance3:

Its a nice 70 degrees today---the past month...the weather was below normal so its nice not feeling so cold.

We have not decorated yet...maybe this weekend. We are still worn out from DH's mom. She is like the pink Energizer bunny...goes on and on...

Ariel2007---your words are always welcome.

NC Belle ~ Thank you :goodvibes

The 70's, thats quite warm isn't it? Its in the 40's over here today, and feels so cold.

Slo- Thanks for the hugs, doing better, just going to take some time to heal but everything is looking good so far.
.
I"m glad you are doing better!!!!
I'll send some more PD your way :wizard: :wizard:

This is a great family too!!!!
I've been here for maybe 3 1/2 years, and I've met some awesome people. I wish we weren't so scattered around, because it would be so great to have a Tag DIS meet. Maybe someday that'll happen :)

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well.
I'll send some PD your way to feel better soon :wizard:

It has been cold around here :cold:
It's probably colder by you, because you are more north than me.

The news about the govenor is quite shocking:eek:
Kevin just can't get over how much of an idiot he is.
I'm a bit surprised with how crooked he is, because I always thought he looked like a pansy, and he wouldn't have that crookedness (is that a word) in him.

Morning Slo :wave2: I'm glad you can get the Christmas wrapping done so you don't have to be up all night! :faint:
I will get even more done at work, so that means all I need to on Christmas Eve is to put everything out :woohoo: So awesome!!!!!
