Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Yes if the doctor signs you off with stress you are off work. At my place out of the 9 teachers I think only 3 of us including myself have not been off due to stress at some point. Teaching in the UK is a very secure job, it is very hard to fire a teacher. We do not have a set amount of sick days. If you are sick, you are sick. Although after 4 days off you do need a doctors note. This doesn't happen in other jobs though in England. My assistants husband works in a factory as a manager. He can loose his job if he even has a few days off sick.

Now this would not :sad2: fly here in the good old USA.
We'd either ...
Go for one of myriad drugs we have for stress.
Spend enless hours and money in therapy.
Kill someone and blame it on the stress.
Go on a talk-show.
Or any combo of the above.
:lmao:

Hi guys,
Today was much better at work. My class sat their English reading exam which was really hard this year. They have a booklet to read and 45 minutes to answer questions about it. Over 50% of the marks though were questions like, 'What do you think the author meant?' or 'How does this line of the poem make you feel?' or 'Why do you think the author choose those words?' But at least every school in the country sits the same test so if we thought it was hard it was hard for every school.

I'm in quite a good mood though. I had to get home early as I needed to phone Disneyland Paris share holders club before they closed for the day (so I had to be home by 4pm as Paris is an hour ahead of us.) Anyway the CM found the details I sent to them and registered me as a shareholder straight away. So he is emailing me my membership number tomorrow and the shareholders booking line so I can get our October trips booked tomorrow!!

Wallyb I think a lot of the staff are already on stress drugs! And speaking of talk shows, one day a few years ago my assistant was off ill (she has MS so can sometimes need time off) so she was watching a TV chat show. Suddenly her sister in law came on the screen!! She had given herself a fake name (Aisha Akeem, when really she is called Mary!!) and was on with my assistants nephew about him being in a gang and the effect it was having on their family!! She didn't even know her nephew was in a gang! Anyway she was screaming and shouting at audience members. My assistant said she was so embarrased the next time she saw her!!

Slo Thanks for the hug. Our education system in the UK used to be really good, but the government keep changing things and now it is not what it used to be. There is a lot of discussion this week about exams children have to sit and schools having to teach to the test due to league tables that are published of results. Things were a lot better 20 years ago when we didn't have all that stuff. I have seen it get worse in the 10 years I have been teaching. I hope your test results go well and I'm happy you love your new hair cut!!

My mom and I had a great time going flower shopping this year :flower:
We have a nice time every year, but this year was especially nice, because the girls weren't with me (that sounds terrible doesn't it?!). But when they are wish, I"m constantly telling them to stay by me, don't touch the flowers, no we can't have that, and etc. Yesterday, I could just do my own thing - it was great!!!!!! :woohoo:

Everything at the doctors went well. The doctor definitly doesn't think I'm diabetic, and he doesn't think I'm hypoglycemic either - which is a good thing!!! :) He definitly thinks I'm sugar intolerant, which means, my body doesn't like sugar, and therefore it fights it, when I ingest it, which is why I get the headaches. Before he makes a total diagnosis though, he's having me take my blood sugar 3 times a day for 2 weeks, to see what that shows. I don't have my little machine set up for today, but I need to get it set up for tomorrow. I need to take my blood sugar when I wake up, after I work out, and before dinner. After the doctor sees my log on the blood sugars, he'll be able to make his final diagnosis - so we'll see what happens!!!!!

Wally - I don't know if my hair cut is a trendy haircut:confused: I used to wear my hair like this awhile back ago, and I just wanted to go back to it. If it is a trendy haircut, than it's a bonus!!!!:thumbsup2

Danauk - That's interesting about the education system. Here I assumed that your education system was fabulous. I"m so glad you had a better day today - it's always nice to have a good day at work. Also, congrats on becoming a Disney shareholder!!!! :)

Well, I'm off to get outside and start walking
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Well we'd let you know if we could see it. :3dglasses
Perhaps a photo?
We haven't seen the girl's in a while too.
For a woman who owns a frame shop -
you'd think you'd have a few photos around ...
come on give it up.

Hi guys,
Well I finally got my Disneyland Paris trip booked today, 3 nights at the Disneyland hotel (the pink one in the pictures I showed you all that is over the entrance to the park.) It should be fun as you get breakfast included and at this hotel every morning is a character breakfast at no extra cost. I spoke to the nicest CM ever (I was on the phone for 45 minutes!!) It turns out she was a CM at Disneyland as she is from Caliornia and when I mentioned I was going there in the summer she gave me loads of tips and hints on the best things to do, where the best spots are for the shows, the best places to eat/drink etc. She was amazed how much I knew about the Disney parks and you could tell she was a real Disnay fan. So I told her about the Dis boards!! At the end of the conversation she said, "This conversation has really made my day!"

So then I phoned my parents to tell them we had booked it all and they asked how much they owed me. I was like, nothing, it's our present to you. They didn't realise!!! So now they are going to be researching the hotel and parks as they have never been to a Disney park before. My dad wanted to know, "Does it have one of those runaway mine train things?" So I told him about BTMRR which he decided he wanted to go on!! This could be interesting, educating them in the way of Disney parks!!

Slo I'm glad you had fun flower shopping with your mum. What did you buy?

:rolleyes1 NC Beast is going to give me a hard time when he gets home tonight. I had him cancelled our Crystal Palace reservation because of our flight time... Well, I just saw the first flight of the day dropped from $91 to $66 so I adjusted our flights for no additional cost. I have to rebook a table service.

Danauk---I hope that your folks have a grand time at DLP. I'm not sure if we could do a DLP side trip the next time we go over to Ireland.

Slo-- I would give you my Mom's e-mail for tips on testing and other details, but tomorrow is my folks' secret surprise trip to Boston. My Mom says that she still tests daily, but no longer a diabetic :confused3 .

I'm up a little earlier on a Saturday than normal, because Kevin is leaving for Indy for the weekend. I decided to get up with him so I can say goodbye, and also workout a little earlier than normal on a Saturday.

Stephanie is having her first friend over to spend the night tonight, and she is bouncing off the wall with excitement :yay: She has the huge itinerary made on what her and the friend are going to do tonight - it's so cute!!!!! I just hope they have enough time - she's got alot of stuff on there

Wally - I'll have to post some pictures soon :)

Danauk - Congrats on getting your trip planned :cheer2: Your parents are going to have so much fun!!!!! :cool1: I can hardly wait to hear about it when you return.
**The flowers I bought are 2 flats of impatients, 1 flat of vincas, some new guinea impatients, some wave petunias and some spikes - now I need to find time to plant them all :faint:

Belle - I hope your parents are having a good time on their trip

Well, I guess it's time for me to get off the computer and get outside
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Stephanie is having tons of fun at her first sleepover.
I made them Cheese Pizza Rolls and they are watcing Alvin & the Chipmunks. Pretty soon I will be making them popcorn, and then STephanie organized a treasure hunt for them to do - how fun!!!! :cool1: So far they are being pretty well behaved and I hope it stays that way (fingers crossed)

Have a good night everyone!!

:surfweb:

I just can't get over how good the girls were last night - I'm so proud of them!!!! :) They went to bed a little after Katie and I (approx. 11pm) and I thought they would be up to 2pm (they started PotC at World End at 10pm, and that movie is 3 hours long). But they must have been really tired, because after they went to bed, they talked and giggled for approx 15 minutes, and then I didn't hear from them again. It's now 8:30am and they are still sleeping - they must have been really tired!!!!! :faint:

I now waiting to hear the weather for today, because I really would like to get some planting done. Right now the sun is shining very brightly :sunny: and I hope it stays that way. I doubt I will get everything done, but it would be nice to get 50% of it done :flower2:

Well, I gotta go and start planning breakfast so the girls can eat soon after they wake up. I'm making them chocolate chip pancakes, and I'm making me regular pancakes - yummy!!!! :goodvibes Oh...I forgot to share that Katie slept with me for the first time yesterday, and OMgosh, she is a wild child in bed - it shocks me that she doesn't fall out of her bed. I didn't get much sleep last night because she was constantly kicking me in the chest, slapping me in the face with her arms flying all around - it was unbelievable!!!!! It wasn't like she was having bad dreams, she's just a very very active sleeper - I don't think she's going to be invited back with me for quite some time:laughing:

Have a good day today everyone!!!

Slo--- congrats on your kid's first sleepover.

We had a boring weekend...highlights---Home Depot, pet store, and then the grocery store, dog grooming...
I hope that Ibouncetoo got some nice photos during the Panama crossing. I'm a tad bit jealous of missing out on the fun and the amazing photo ops.

What a productive day yesterday!!!!
I got 80% of all my flowers planted, and pulled tons of weeds - it was a great day!!!!

Belle - Thanks - she had tons of fun!!!!!
**I need to get to Home Depot one day this week and buy some more dirt. I bought 4 bags last Wednesday, and I used them all:eek: I also need to buy some more pots, because I decided to go get some more flowers :flower2:

Well, I'm off to workout and start my day
Have a good day everyone!!

Hi All! :wave2:

I spent the weekend planting too - up at or Maine house.
More of that this weekend as well.

I am so sore from my planting, which shocks me with the amount of working out that I've been doing the last couple of months:eek: My butt and thighs feel like I've been horseback riding for the last 24 hours - it must be from all the squating I did:rolleyes:

I went yesterday and bought some more dirt, and tonight I'm going to go buy some more flowers - I love flowers!!!! :flower2: It's great to have all the color in the yard :flower:

Have a good day today everyone!!

Hey - I go to the gym every day - for at least an hour- and I still felt muscles after this weekend planting and window cleaning.

Hi guys, sorry I have been MIA for a few days, I have been super busy at work. We had the inspectors in today, out of the 5 teachers in my team 1 is off with stress, another who was in yesterday phoned in sick, one was observed 1st lesson then as she is management had to then join the inspectors doing the observations which left 2 of us actually teaching. So myself and the other teacher were observed 3 times this morning!! My maths lesson was graded outstanding though which is the highest mark you can get!! I've never had one of those before! The head teacher was so pleased she came running in to my room to tell me! So that is them out of the way for another 6 or 7 weeks. The good news though is we have a week off next week!

Slo Glad you got the planting done. I still need to get the bark chipping down on my flower beds. We are petting a skip next weekend to get rid of all the soil from the bunny run. I think I will do my planting and gardening then.

Wallyb I hope you have a fun weekend at your Maine house. Some day I would love to visit that area, it always looks so beautiful in pictures I have seen.

Well better go, yesterday I had to take one of my bunnies to the vet as she has an eye infection (turns out she scratched her cornea) so I need to go and catch her to put her eye drop in. I have to do this 3 times a day, and boy can that bunny run quickly. I think it's my new workout chasing her around the garden.

ETA: Oh dear, I think my DLP trip has turned my parents into thrill ride seakers!! Now as you know I LOVE my rollercoasters. I have not got a clue where this came from as my parents have never been on one and the only family member that has ridden one with me was my uncle (who I actually think only rode with me as he was too embarased to admit he was too scared to go on something a 9 year old was going on!! lol!!) But both my parents have decided they are going on BTMRR so I think I might try and get my dad on Crush (mum has a bad back so don't want to risk it.) I can't believe my 65 year old parents have decided to ride 'coasters!!

I'm feeling so tired this morning, and I don't know why :confused3

Today I'm off work, and I'm going to spend it all day cleaning and doing laundry - fun! fun!!!! It'll actually feel good when it's done, and I won't have anyone home with me, so no interuptions!!!!:thumbsup2 We are getting a new furnace and air conditioner today, so I have to be home for them, which is good, because that means I can't leave, which means even more will get accomplished :thumbsup2 It should be a very productive day!!!!!!:)

Yeah, would afternoon or evening be better for you? As we are leaving Disneyland for Six Flags that day we could either leave DL, go to Six Flags to sort our AP's out and book into our hotel, then drive to the port to meet you all. Or if we were to meet in the afternoon drive to you guys directly from DL then head over to Six Flags. I'm happy to do either, but at some point that day we need to head into the park at Six Flags to sort out our AP's. I'm not sure what places there are to meet for dinner around that area. Have you been there before? I can't believe after all these years on here I'm going to get to meet some Tagliarchy buddies!! :thumbsup2

Hey just got off a con call with England.
Cheadle I believe
