Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

We have been enjoying the 70s/80s this weekend. I am starting to bring out the warm weather clothes. NC B. has been on antibiotics for a tooth infection and getting nervous about his upcoming root canal (going to a specialist because the location).

FIL update--- He's in the hospital overnight for anemia/testing. MIL and FIL were at their beach condo where he needed to go to the er where MIL went for her emergency surgery (back in Jan.). MIL joked that maybe they should keep away from the beach for now since almost every trip there this year has resulted in an er visit.

Hi Tagliarchy. I know I've been MIA for a while, but I think of this place often. Life just seems to keep me away from the computer these days. And when I do find time to sit down, I usually fall asleep on the keyboard.

I had to stop by to share with the only people I know would really appreciate what happened to us. Yesterday - or rather Saturday - we took the kids to see the Imagination Movers concert. (If you're not familiar with the IM, they're a music group for kids that has a show on the Disney Channel. Ian loves them, for about 2 months they're all we watched. The kids had no idea where we were going on our special surprise outing, until we got to the theater and saw the poster. As good - or should I say indulgent - parents, we bought them souveniers and found our seats. The show was lots of fun!!! Afterwards, I realized that Sophia's blinky light wasn't working properly so I stood in line to exchange it. As I was nearing the front of the line a woman came over and asked if we'd like to meet the Movers. Well DUH!!!! Of course we would. We had to wait in a "mile-long" line - but after waiting in many a line at WDW this was nothing. Finally it was our turn. The IM were so friendly, and really took the time to talk to Ian and Sophia. (She was so excited to give them High-5's that she talked about it all day today.)

RRBB--- The kids have really gotten taller since the last pictures. I saw on the podcast board about this group.

We called TX earlier---DNiece's 12th birthday. She and her family were just coming back from AZ (I think to visit her maternal G-ma's winter home).

This is a super fast drive by post :car:

RRBB - Thanks for posting those pictures!!! Katie loves IM, and she would be so excited to see them!!!! I"m glad they were nice, and took the time to take those nice pictures:goodvibes

Well, I gotta run - have a good day!!!

RRBB thanks for posting. The pictures are great and kids are growing and growing.. Thanks for sharing and happy Purim.

NC B how is FIL today. Have you gotten reports from his test?

SLO how is you Dad and MOM? Is she holding up as well as expected?

BB - what is with your MOM? Does she love the new house? Settled??

Hey guys just a quick check in to see how you all are.

lauren has been sick since last Friday-flu I guess. She has missed the state testing now two days in a row. ugh Tom is home and I am trying to keep them apart. I don't want to send him back to school sick. ugh what a week. TTFN

Greetings.. beautiful day here sunny but only 20 something degrees.. could it please warm up and stay there..

Hi everyone. It's a cold, rainy day here. It was hot and muggy yesterday, in the high 70's/low 80's. Today it barely made it to 40. I don't mind the rain, but give me back the warmer temps!

Ian's going to play soccer this spring. He's been wanting to play for over a year now, but there weren't any coaches in the fall. But the mom of one of his classmates volunteered to coach so now I guess I'm a soccer mom. I let him pick out a soccer ball today when we were at the store checking out team shirts. He originally chose a traditional white/black ball, but we ended up walking out with a florescent green one instead. And the number he chose to go on his shirt is 41 - because he's 4 and Sophia is 1. What a sweet big brother he is.

OF and I have tickets to see The Pajama Game tonight. I'm really looking forward to it. It will be nice to do something with just the 2 of us for a change. And the kids just love Granny B. It took Sophia nearly a year and a half to warm up to her, but the last time she stayed with the kids Sophia woke up the next morning calling for her instead of me.

cheeringmom - I hope Lauren feels better soon. Thankfully the worst we've had here is some colds/runny noses.

geffric - I'd send you some of our warmer weather, but our beautiful warm temps seems to have left us. :(

NCBelle - sending some pixiedust to your ILs

Gotta run now. I'll try to stop by again soon...

We are a bit tired today. We were able to fly in yesterday at the last moment. FIL is still with us, but the hospice nurse ask us to pace the visits so he does not wear out to fast. We had a prayer with one the closest priest friends earlier (FIL's favorite fishing buddy that is a priest).

Well, time to go back and enjoy the moments (some good stories). FIL is excited that he will soon be reunited with his parents amoung others.

This is my last day of work this week :woohoo:
I just love it when my college employee is home

geffric - Thanks for asking about my parents. My mom isn't doing well with this :sad2: She's very very stressed out, and you can really see it in her face (at least I can). I wish there was something I could do, but there really isn't (at least not yet). I'm really worried about her getting depressed.

cheeringmom - I'm sorry to hear that Lauren is sick:guilty: I'll send loads of PD her way to get better soon:wizard: :wizard:

RRBB - How was your and OF"s outing last night? I hope you had a good time :goodvibes
**I hope Ian enjoys soccer. Stephanie played soccer for awhile, and she loved it. But then she got put with the older kids, and they were so much bigger, stronger, and better than her, that she got frustrated and didn't want to do it anymore. So I made her finish that season, and she hasn't done it since.

Belle - OMGosh, I didn't realize he was in hospice:eek: I'm so sorry to hear this:sad1: So many hugs to you and The Beast   I will keep your FIL in my thoughts and prayers, and I will keep you and your DH in my thoughts and prayers too  Please keep us posted on your FIL's condition.

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work - I"m going in early today.
I have a lot to do, since I"m not there tomorrow:banana:
Have a good day!!!

NC B's :grouphug: hopefully he is comfortable and enjoying your visit. That is great that you and Beast could fly in and visit with him and bring him joy. :grouphug: It is a tough time. My thought and prayers are with you and the family.

Hi..

Thanks BlueBayou for "friending me" on Facebook..

FIL is hanging on---bp has be normal for 2 days...still other issues. He has been enjoying the family and his favorite foods. He played card games with his granddaughters today. FIL has been watching alot of basketball (ACC) which is his favorite sport.

We have home mass tomorrow early (one of the favorite priests) plus one on Sunday (another priest who did one on Thursday---young and pretty funny). We found out that MIL has another nickname--- Sister Mary Merlot.:)

SLO--- FIL just started hospice this week. He was on a religious retreat with MIL when he suddenly did not feel well after trying to get up from his nap. Apparently his bp dropped and needed blood transfusions because the tumors grew in the liver. He has internal bleeding so we have no clue on the time---surprising the doctors/nurses on surviving this long.

Belle & Beast, :grouphug: and prayers for you and your family.

Hi folks....busy week, as I was able to spend time at work (plus my team-mate was out Thu & Fri). Had some of my stiches out on Wed, so I can sit a bit more comfortably. We left a couple stiches in...where there is more 'tension', so I'm still sitting 'tenderly'...so to speak.

I am glad it's the weekend and I can lounge about for two days. ::yes::

.

I have to start this post out by saying how much I love my Pediatrician!!!!!
Here's why.......
Katie's been having a cough that's been getting croupier all week - started Monday. Her nose also started running on Wednesday night. She has had no fever, and has not acted real sick, so I thought she just had a cold. I've been giving her Mucinex during the day and Dimetapp at night. Yesterday at 4pm she comes crying to me about her ear hurting ALOT. The last time this happened her ear drum burst, so I immediately called her doctor. They know me VERY well there, and told me they would talk to the doctor and see what she says in regards to us coming in, or them just calling a prescription - I said "okay" When Kevin got home a 1/2 hour later, Katie was crying more, and I told him I'm just going, and when they call back, to tell them I'm on my way.

When I got there, the receptionist said she was dialing my phone when she saw my car, and that the doctor did want to see her. When we got into a room, and the doctor came in, she said to me, "I told Cindy that this is not a family that messes around. When Sandy says there's something wrong with her kids, that means there is something really wrong with her kids." This made me feel so good that she knows me, knows my family, and knows that I'm not blowing anything out of proportion. She looked in Katie's ears and the painful ear has a full blown ear infection, and the other ear has the beginning of an ear infection. Then she listened to her lungs, and said that her one lung was full of fluid:eek: Basically, she has the beginning stages of pneumonia, and if I would have not gone in, she would have been a very sick little girl by Monday:eek: With Katie's history of having RSV badly twice when she was a baby, her lungs are more susceptible to this type of stuff. So she's on a strong antibiotic, and an inhaler (which she is having a hard time understanding how to breath that mediciane in, but she'll get it by the today). She also needs to use her vaporizer, and sit in a hot shower to breath in the steam (we did this yesterday, and you should have seen the steam in my bathroom - it was pretty funny. We are going to do this again tonight).

The doctor warned me that this could get worse before it gets better. She said I should expect a fever and the cough could get worse, but it's possible we caught it early enough that this may not happen - I pray it doesn't!!! She told me on the way out how grateful she is for not just calling in a prescription, and for actually seeing her. I told her how grateful I am to her for fitting us in at the very very last second of the day.

So that's how I ended my Friday, and I'm praying that Katie doesn't get worse.

So today and tomorrow, we are just going to be home, so Katie can rest rest rest.

Thanks for all for your kind thoughts about me and my constent headaches. I'm starting to feel a little better today, so that's good, because I need to focus on Katie. I'm hoping I continue to feel better today, and best by tomorrow. Thanks again!!!!

Well, Katie is now up, and she is hungry, so I'm going to get her some breakfast.

Have a good day everyone!!!

NC B's continue prayer for you and the family. I hope FIL is resting comfortably and enjoying his family. It is wonderful that the priests are coming to help over and giving him a mass. that must but his and everyone's mind at ease..

SLO - sounds like you caught that just in time.. hope she gets better and the medicine works miracles.. just a note about the steaming in the bathroom.. that is how the wall paper starting peeling.. lots of steam..

so I am baking for the boy scout thing tomorrow.. talk to you later..

Slo I'm so glad Katie got to see the doctor, I hope she gets better soon.

NCBelle Prayers to your FIL and your family

Geffric How did the cookie baking go?

I have not had the best week either. Both my assistants were off all week which makes my job very hard. I started to get a cold mid week then by Friday I felt awful but had to go in. Now I can't hear out of one ear and it really hurts. I think I might have to take the day off tomorrow and go to the doctors to get it cleared.

Thanks all for your kind thoughts about my Katie:goodvibes
She has not become sicker - thank God for that!!!!! But it's hard for me to know if she's any "better". I never heard the weezing in her lung to begin with (I never can hear weezing - this is not the first time Katie has had weezing) and the ear infection snuck up on us like a snake in the grass. I'm thinking she's getting better because she's not coughing as much, she hasn't run a fever, her nose isn't running as much, she did mention her ear is still hurting last night, but she wasn't crying when she said it, like last time, so that's a good thing. I'm going to have Kevin listen to her lungs today, and see what he thinks. The Doctor said for Kevin to keep an ear open this weekend, because he has a stethescope, and is an EMT - so we'll see what he hears later.

Today will be a long day though, because Katie was upset she couldn't play outside yesterday, and she'll be even more upset today. She feels Stephanie should stay inside too, but I can't make Stephanie stay inside - so we are going to have many many tears later this afternoon - I"m not looking forward to that at all :sad2:

I'm going to take advantage of staying in today with cleaning the house and putting up our Easter decorations. I also am going to go through some things in the attic to get ready for the garage sale I"m having in May. So, this day should be very productive:thumbsup2

geffric - Thanks for that tip!! I never gave that a thought. Last night, as I was sitting in the steambath with Katie, I kept looking at the wallpaper like it was going to all down on my head:laughing:

Danauk - How are you feeling today? I hope you feel better soon:wizard: :wizard: I hate colds!!!!!:headache:

Belle - I"m still keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers!!!! :grouphug:

Well, I must get going and give Katie her inhaler - she doesn't like it at all. :sad2: She said it makes her tongue taste bad, but she's a trooper, and takes it w/o a fight, which I'm grateful for!!!
Have a good day!!!
