Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

I'm on facebook too, although I am really bad at using it, I forget to update things!!
I am giving up eating crisps (sorry chips to you guys!) for lent. It might be quite hard though as we have an endless free supply of them in our staffroom.

I'm on facebook too. PM'd slo with my last name...those of you who know it....look for me!

I am coming to you today to ask for your prayers.
I have commented in the past about my dad's memory and mental problems, and my mom got the final dianosis yesterday that he has advanced stages of Alzheimers:sad1: Please keep my dad in your prayers, but please please please especially keep my mom in your prayers - she has such a long dark road ahead of her. My dad still feels there's nothing wrong with him, so he's not suffering, but my mom sure is - he is not easy to live with at all. There are so many things that she loves, that she isn't and won't be able to do:guilty: I feel so sad for her. I had to explain to Stephanie yesterday about this, and explain to her that someday he won't remember her, and explain to her that it doesn't mean he doesn't love her, but it's the disease - she was sad:sad1: Alzheimers is so ugly - you die with no dignity:sad2: So sad!!!!:sad1:

On a happier note - I've been having alot of fun on Facebook. Not only can I keep in touch with those on The DIS, but I am hoping to catch up with many people that I haven't seen or talked to in years.

Have a great day!!!

Slo so sorry for you. I know exactly what you guys are going thru. My dad had Alzheimers when he died 2 months ago. It was terrbile. He never really knew me when I came to visit but just that he SHOULdD know me. I will pray for your mom. It will be a long difficult road where she may need to make some very hard decisions. Please keep us updated

I am also on FB. I will get on Jackies so check her out and you will find me!!! You too Susan and Dana!

Ok i added Jackie as a freind now I have to see if she will accept or ignore!:confused3 :rotfl:

oh real funny story... We took Lauren to a local Mardis Gras party yesterday and it was a blast. There were people throwing beads off of balconies etc. Anyway...This one guy on the balcony spotted me and did the little dance signal so I would dance for some beads. So I did a little shimmy and he tossed some huge beads at me that hit me square in the mouth. No joking. He felt so bad I felt so stupid. It was pretty hilarious but it hurt like heck. I guess I should have shimmied a little less and maybe he wouldn't have hurled them at me. Lauren almost started crying because they were huge beads and it LOOKED like it hurt. People stared- the whole works. Pretty humbling and embarrassing. oh well. I had a Hurricane and all was well!:headache:

Slo I am so sorry anout your dad. My grandma also has Alzheimers, she no longer recognises any of us which upsets my dad greatly. My granded (her husband) died of cancer almost 20 years ago and she lives in a great nursing home now. The staff their are amazing and she is so well looked after there. You are in my prayers.

I had a nice day at work today, one of the girls in my class just got back from WDW. She bought me a lovely Tinker Bell mug from the MK as she knows Tink is my favourite!! She bought my LSA who loves Mickey (the one whose car is totally decorated inside and out in Mickey things!) a cute Mickey beanie keyring and my other LSA a Minnie one. We looked at her photos in show and tell today and I was guessing where abouts in the parks they were taken!!

Well it is 8pm and I have just got in from work so I am going in search of some food!!

Thank you so much for kind posts about my parents:grouphug:
This is going to be a long road, and I have a feeling you will hear me talking about this alot. I'm so grateful that I have you all to talk to!!!!:grouphug:

Well, I gotta run and get Stephanie out of bed, and get her lunch made.
Have a great day everyone and thanks again - I love you all!!!!!

Good morning all, I have a little dis time this morning as I am on a course today so I don't have to leave as early. I still have to go into school 1st to set up the laptop for the supply teacher, but that doesn't take long to do.

I am so glad it is Friday, I am looking forward to the weekend. tonight we are going out to a quiz with one of my friends from work and her husband which should be fun.

I did get a bit of perhaps sad news last night. My best friends (the ones we take our disney trips with) might be moving 5 hours away. Sues office is closing but the company want to keep her on and transfer her offices. She will find out in a few weeks what is going to happen. I don't want them to move as I will miss them!!

Slo How are you doing today? I hope you all are OK.

Well I better get ready to go, have a nice day everyone.

:grouphug: Slo--- hugs for you and your family. NC B. and I both had a grandparent that had some form of dementia. Our nieces and nephews re doing okay with FIL's condition. FIL gets forgetful at times so he is not left alone overnight---it was wonderful to have their friends nearby the beach condo when MIL had her emergency surgery last month. The in-laws are starting to plan a trip to Ireland to visit family with their soon-to-be 12 granddaughter. They have cousins willing to help drive them around if needed (age issues for the over 70 visitors).

 Danauk---I'm sure that y'all keep in contact (phone, e-mails, internet sites, visits) with that great couple.

:surfweb:

Danauk - I'm okay, thanks for asking!!! I can't stop thinking about my mom and what she's going through. She's so so tired, and I wish I could give her a break. But there's things that she has to do with my dad, that he would NOT be comfortable with me helping him with. Eventually he won't have the mind to care, but he still has enough mind to know I shouldn't be helping him do certain things.
**I am so sorry to hear that your friends may move :guilty: I know what you are going through, because I've had very good friends move far away too. Your friendship is very strong, and you'll keep in touch. Just think, you'll be able to take nice long weekends to their house, or they to your house, so instead of a night together, you can spend days together:goodvibes

Belle - Thanks for the hugs :)
*How is your FIL feeling now?

Well, I best get going and get Steph up for school - have a good day!!!

Well gang, I fired my first employee yesterday (as a business owner - I've fired others in the past when I managed someone else's store). As much I hated to do this, it was necessary. So now I have to work a little more, which in one hand stinks, but in the other hand is okay, because I will get some more stuff done.

Tonight my friend Jennifer and I are taking our girls to see The Jonas Brothers in 3-D. These tickets were my girls Valentines Day present - so they are very excited about going (especially Katie - she just  the Jonas Brothers). This movie must not be as popular as the Miley Cyrus movie, because I just looked on Fandango, and it's not sold out. The Miley Cyrus movie around here sold out super quick. We were going to go super early to make sure we got a seat together, but maybe we can get there 45 minutes early, instead of an hour early.

So, I"m just loving Facebook - so fun!!!!
I"m going to make a Facebook page for my store - it might be good advertising.
I figured The DIS has one, a local bowling shop has one, why can't I have one?!
So, I'll see how that goes :thumbsup2

Well, it's time for me to go eat my daily grapefruit and get ready for my day. Stephanie has a hearing test at 11am, and then we have many errands to run.

Have a good day today!!!

Hi..

SLO did you fire that one that was not relayable and had her Mom call her out for homework??

Last night was Battle of the Bands and Eric's band won 3rd place.. so they are off today to spend their $25 CG at Sam Ash..;) tonight is turnabout dance.. so I will play chauffer to Eric and friends.. first to pictures, then to dinner then to the dance , after the dance to a party and home from the party..

Geoff and Scott are at a scout thing so.. ..:surfweb: I am doing laundry and resting on the puter for awhile..

Evening all,
I just got back from the cinema, we saw Bolt 3D and it was very funny. Then we had dinner at Frankie and Bennys which was yummy!

Slo Sorry you had to fire your employee, I guess it was the high school girl? I hope you have a good time at the movies, they showed the trailer for that movie before Bolt 3D, it looks like a movie the girls in my class would like to see. My girls are really into High School Musical right now.

Geffric Well done to the band, they seem to be doing really well at the moment. Enjoy your 'puter time!!

I have been doing some Orlando holiday research this evening. Now I'm not sure when we are going. If our friends move then the planned Christmas trip might not happen, so instead we would probably go next August (take advantage of free dining hopefully). But then we want to go when Harry Potter opens at universal and I'm not sure if it will be open by then (it just says 2010.) We were thinking of a week at Disney then a week at Universal perhaps. Oh well, that is ages away, so plenty of time to plan!!

Its snowing tonight after us having 60/70 degrees this past Friday and Sat & Sunday were heavy rains/winter coat weather. I hope that they clear the roads in time for NC B. to go to work. We usually don't have snow this late.

Slo
--- FIL is having both good and bad days. NC B. called them on Friday for MIL's b-day.

:surfweb:

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday - I didn't have a chance.

My review of the Jo Bros movie is thumbs down. Granted, I'm not a huge fan of theirs, but the movie was kinda slow - Katie and her friend were bored at times. Stephanie said she was never bored, but the movie did move slowly. The theater was only 1/2 packed, if that, and there were no screaming girls - completely different than the Miley Cyrus movie last year.

After the movie we got some pizzas, came to my house, and played Monopoly, with Kevin, until 12:30am :faint: By the time Jen left it was almost 1am - I never stay up that late :faint: The girls were exhausted, but they had so much fun!!!!

Then Sunday morning we slept in, and then my other friend came over for awhile to visit with her kids - it was nice to see her!!!! Then during the afternoon Stephanie and I cuddled in a chair watching tv and then we went to church for 6pm Mass

We had a good weekend!!!!! :goodvibes

geffric - Congrats to Eric and the rest of his band!!!! :cheer2:
**Yes, that was the employee ::yes::

Danauk - I've never seen Bolt, and I want to when it comes out on video.
**This employee was almost begging to get fired. When I told her about it, she sounded very happy  I think she wondered what took me so long  It's a shame that she has such a bad work ethic :sad2: I tried giving her MANY chances, but I just couldn't do it anymore:sad2:

Belle - I'm glad your FIL is having some good days, that's good to hear!!!:)
**I heard about your snow. We have snow too, but not as much as you.

Well, I gotta run and get Ms. Stephanie up for school.
Have a great day today everyone!!!
