Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

:grouphug: Slo---poor Katie! Prayers and pd.

FIL update---he's improving a lot over the several days. Hospice on Wed. said to limit visitors and plenty of naps for FIL, but that advice changed by friday. FIL has been thriving through all of his sons and grandchildren being around and friends. He said today that he knows that everyone's prayers has helped him. He is being more stubborn on his naps now that he feels so much better. We might be home in a day or 2 if he continues to improve. He worries about everyone's jobs and bills. He is disappointed that MD lost to Duke.

NCBelle I was just looking at your signature and was wondering if I could ask your opinion in something. One of our teaching assistants and her DH (who is our caretaker at school) have asked me to help them plan a trip to WDW. This would be a once in a lifetime trip for them and I want it to be the best experience for them. They would be looking to stay at a value resort and the have 2 DD, one would be 16 and the other 9 next summer when they are looking to go. Chloe (the 9 year old) loves dancing and music so I was trying to decide which would be the best recommendation for them, ASMu or Pop? Or do you think one value room would be too small for 2 adults and a 16 and 9 year old? Maybe one of the family suites at ASMu would be better? I have never visited the Values so don't really know what to recommend.

Danauk--- I just ask the 2 nieces (12 and almost9) and nephew 17 and they said:

---definitely want their own bed
---2 thought Pop sounds fun, 1 music

I suggust refering them to this site's photos and Deb Wills allears.net for the comparing. The suites which offer everyone a bed (1 queen in master bedroom, 2 chair pull out beds, 1 sofa pull out bed) plus 2 bathrooms. After spending the past 5 days with the mentioned kids in my mini survey---2 bathrooms is a big plus. The suite also has a mini fridge and a microwave.

Both resorts have nice grounds, but peference is All Star Music because we had great service. We did not eat at the all star music food court, Pop had a good food selection several years ago.

Thanks for the advice NCBelle, I'll recommend both places including the suites and let them decide.

Katie was crabby most of the day yesterday because she couldn't play outside:mad: (that face is hers) I guess I can't blame her - it was beautiful outside :sunny: I tried keeping her mind off Stephanie being outside, but it wasn't easy:sad2: I was so glad when it was time for Stephanie to come in, so I didn't have to hear about it anymore :upsidedow

Katie is getting better all the time, which makes me so grateful!!!!:woohoo:
She is suppossed to go to daycare tomorrow, but I'm going to keep her with me - I really don't want her running around outside and getting sweated up and catching a chill. She'll be so happy about that - she loves going to work with me:banana:

Yesterday I didn't any cleaning done, which was a bummer, but I did get other things done. I got up in the attic and went through some boxes, and tagged and boxed more things for the garage sale. I decorated for Easter - the most I've decorated in years. I found more Easter decorations in the attic, that I haven't seen since we moved 4 years ago. Normally Kevin goes in the attic, but it's easier for me to do it, and I've been finding tons of stuff since I've been going up there. So the house is very springy and Eastery looking - it's great!!! :flower:

I take Stephanie tonight to the ENT again to get the true results of her hearing test, and see what he says about a 3rd surgery. 50% of me hopes for the surgery and the other 50% doesn't hope for the surgery. I"ll let you know tomorrow what he says.

Belle - Thanks!!!:goodvibes
**That is great news about your FIL!!! The power of prayer is amazing!!!! I pray that he continues to improve :wizard:

Danauk - How are you feeling? I hope your cold is getting better :wizard:

Well, I need to get Steph up for school - have a good day today everyone!!

DanaUK - another thing to consider is renting points from a DVC member and staying at a DVC resort.

NC Belle - great news on the FIL ... I am glad he is enjoing his time with his family.

SLO glad Katy is felling better. Let us know what the DR says about Stephanie's hearing.

off to start the day.. be back later

Hey Guys,

Belle, so glad to hear the your FIL is doing a lttitle better. Family and friends are amazing medicine! Please keep us posted.

SLO so glad Katie is feeling better. I odn't blame you about keeping her home an extra day. Their defenses are so low after getting over an illness.

DANA, I love the values. So does Lauren. She can't wati to pick whick one. They are about allt he same in my eyes. I like POP a little better. But your friends kids are a lot older. It would be more crowded to be sure whats up today Geffric?

I am off to shop with a fellow DISer' I met her on the cruise boards and found out we went to elementary school together plus she only lives about 40 minutes from me now. Small world. She is going on a DIS cruise this weekend and we are off to buy her clothes!!
Hugs all around

Just stopping by quickly to ask that you could possible have both my assistants at work in your prayers. One has MS which has been quite bad and has been off for almost 3 weeks now. The other was admitted to hospital today, she was off all last week with lung problems then today she found out she has blood clots on her lungs. She is having a scan tomorrow to find out more.

Happy St. Patricks Day!!!!!

I am so happy to say that Stephanie DOES NOT need a 3rd surgery on her ear :woohoo: The hearing test showed that her ear drum was fine, and the doctor said everything looked fine. The glands in her ears that cause waxy ears are on overdrive though, and that is what is probably leaking out of her ear:scared: The last time we saw him, he had to scrap wax out of her ear, and he said that the other ear had wax in it last night. This makes sense, because when her ear drains she's never sick, her ear never hurts, it just drains. I asked if this is something she will grow out of, and he said no, this is her makeup, and she'll be like this for life - poor thing:guilty: So he gave me perscription drops to put in her ears once a week to help control these wax glands. Stephanie is not happy that this is a lifelong thing, and not a couple of week thing. I told her that if this is the worst thing that happens to her, than she needs to be very grateful, because many people have worse lifelong ailments to take care of.

Katie is still doing better, but she is spending the day with me today - I don't want her at daycare. This way I know she gets her inhaler when she's suppossed to, and I don't want them thinking she's sicker than what she is (I wouldn't blame them for this at all), Plus, I don't want her running around outside and getting sweated up - we want no relapses:sad2:

geffric - :wave2:

cheeringmom - I hope you had a nice day with your friend :goodvibes

Danauk - I will definitly keep them in my thoughts and prayers ::yes:: My employee has MS too, and luckily it hasn't affected her in a negative way yet. She's very worried that it will someday though. Please keep posted on how these ladies are doing.
**How are you feeling? Has your cold gotten any better?

Well, I gotta run and get this day started
Have a great day everyone!!!

We are coming in a couple of hours----FIL slept without his oxygen machine and been without it all day. He believes that everybody's prayers helped. He wished that he was well enough to had sang with his Irish group today---special service downtown for St. Patrick's Day. Most of the family is having corned beef and cabbage tonight.

SLO glad the household is better

BELLE so glad your FIL's spirits are high. I wish he could sing me an old irish song...

Geffric, how are things on your end???

Took Lauren to the doc today. She has an ear infection and some type of respitory thing. Hoepfully the meds will kick in. She has missed way too much school. Plus we are off to Disney in a week.

Hugs to everyone

Hello everyone, hope everyone is doing great. I have not been able to post on here in so long due to school kicking my butt. Things have been going really great over here, got another increase from the Veterans department finally, I am now a 60% disabled veteran. I am still going after them for more seeing as it is hard for me to keep a job due to outbreaks. I have 1 more class to finish up and then I will have my bachelor's degree and a little more free time. We leave friday night for a nice drive down to Wilderness Lodge for 7 days of fun in the sun and I can't wait. I hope I can get on here a little more often to get caught up, it has been way too long.

P.S. Went to doctor last week and all of my hard work has been paying off, since October I have managed to drop 20 lbs, cut my triglycerides in half, dropped my cholesterol a huge amount, got my blood sugar down again and found out that there is nothing wrong with my kidney's

NC B's - great news. I am glad he is better.. continued prayers for comfort and feeling good..

I got Kevin up and out of the house on time this morning :thumbsup2

The news about Natasha Richardson is so sad!!!
I not really "a fan" of hers, but this just shows us all how fragile life really is.
It's a real reality check on how we should all live our lives like it's our last, because you never know what tomorrow could bring.

CM - I hope Lauren starts feeling better soon!!!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Yen Sid - Good to see you!!!!
Congrats on your good report from the doctor :cheer2: and have fun on your trip to The World :cool1:

To everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I need to eat my grapefruit and make Stephanie her lunch. I'm so looking forward to next week when she is on spring break. It'll be nice to not have to rush in the morning :thumbsup2

Have a good day!!!

Hi everyone,
Slo I hope you have a nice time on spring break with Stephanie next week. Do you have anything fun planned to do? We have another 2 weeks after this week before our 2 week Easter break. I do have to go into work though for the 1st 2 days of the holiday to do some extra 1:1 work with some of the children who are taking their exams in a few weeks time. We do have a few nice things planned though. We are going to London one day with my SIL and BIL to have lunch at Gordon Ramseys restaurant at Claridges, then we are going to the West End to see We Will Rock You (I love that show!)

When I was at work today I saw something unusual whilst out on playground duty. The google earth street view van went past!!

So seen as it is almost the weekend, does anyone have anything nice planned? I need to go shopping, I need a new outfit for our meal at Gordon Ramseys restaurant, there is a dress code so I need a new outfit! Plus I need to go to the Disney store, they have just started to do pin trading so I want a few pins for myself and I need a few for the dis exchange!!

Greetings..

Been busy all day with stuff.. nothing jobwise but stuff and errands etc..

Spring Break - boo hoo we aren't going anywhere..boo hoo.. or should I say I am not going anywhere.. Eric is going with the band to Hawaii to perform and have lots of FUN!! Geoff is home but doing senior stuff..

DanaUK - have fun at Gordon Ramseys restaurant .. tell us all about it when you get back and take pictures if you can..

anyway.. HI to all..

update from MIL:
Good news! We have given Andy (FIL) the nickname, “Lazarus,” because of the amazing comeback he has made. This can only be the result of your prayers.
Because the fluid accumulation is dissipating, he no longer needs oxygen, thank God! No longer “tethered”, he went for a ride in the car yesterday and took a short walk outside the apartment. With gradually increasing exercise he hopes to rebuild his strength.
...Although the prognosis remains doubtful, he is feeling much better and continues to be very upbeat.

Geffric---:wizard:I hope that your job search will end soon with an awesome offer.

We don't have much planned for this weekend except maybe vet for Jessie (every 6 month deal to update shots, get heartworm preventative), clean, Beast--tinkering with his mom's old notebook computer, and catch up with programs that were recorded on the dvr.

WooHoo!!! :woohoo:
It's Friday!!! :yay:
And it's the Friday before Spring Break!!!!

Nothing to new and exciting around here, I'm just so glad it's Friday!!!!

Danauk - Unfortunately, I have nothing planned for Stephanie's Spring Break because I'm working everyday. I was really hoping that my highschool employee's spring break would be the same time, so I could take one day off, but her's is in April:guilty: So, Stephanie is going to spend her spring break with me, at work, and at the 2 grandma's house - she doesn't seem to mind.

geffric - I'm sorry you aren't going anywhere for spring break  Hopefully you'll find another job soon so you can go next year:wizard: :wizard:

Belle - That is great news from your MIL!! Thank you for sharing that with us

Well, I gotta run and drag Steph out of bed
Have a good day!!!
