Escape Brides/Grooms...Let's talk!?!

Random SBP question. I have seen in a lot of SBP pictures that there are two "twist" plants put out during weddings. Does this come standard or do you have to pay extra to have them? Just working on my budget again and trying to keep my decor as simple as possible.

Also can you just get bows tied onto the chairs that are already there or do you have to get the full on chair cover?

TIA! :goodvibes

you CAN get the full-on chair cover but i am only getting bows on the chairs that come standard with SBP...which are the white plastic folding chairs (look identical to the white wooden folding chairs that cost extra)...the bows are $4 per chair...

if you ask Rosie about it she will send you the link to their linen website so you can look at all the different fabrics..there are A TON..and all the different colors each come in.

Ok, I know I've asked a couple questions already...But I'm getting anxious and waiting to hear back from Disney. We have a courtesy hold on a reservation for Disney in June around the date that I am hoping we get for the wedding....but was wondering if when you all made the initial call to Disney if they told you someone would get back to you in 1 to 2 business days? And I was wondering what goes on during the initial convo..my sister is going to be receiving the call because I unable to answer my phone all day...will she be able to book the date we want because we have a hold on a reservation or will they need to speak with me? I hope that's not too confusing. I just reallllllly want to start planning my wedding and everything is on hold till I hear from Disney.....

So I'm in the beginning stages of planning my escape wedding. We have just returned our Contract to them and now waiting to hear from them..how long does that usually take? I am planning a SBP ceremony and wondering if it is required that we pay all the extra fees for the drink service and food service, even if we are not having a formal reception with disney? I see people's BEO's and I noticed all the extra for "4 served drinks" "8 plated meals"...

I just looked over our timeline. About 2 weeks after we sent in our signed contract, we got a call that everyone at Disney signed our contract, and our planner would be assigned.

We ended up hearing from our planner 1 week after we were told our contract was approved. That day she emailed us all the planning info. I think how fast they get back to you also depends on how busy they are at that time of year!

As for the drinks and meals, that is only if you add anything extra. You get one bottle of champagne (or two bottles of non-alcoholic sparkling cider) and a two-tier cake are included with the Escape package, but everything else is an extra fee!

Hope that helps! Happy planning!! :goodvibes

For anyone who's already received their AP, how were they sent out? Were they sent regular mail or by UPS/FedEx?

We're less than 2 weeks from our wedding and no sign of them. I asked our co-ordinator a few weeks ago, and she said she saw them ready to be sent out.

We sent back our contract and deposit quite awhile ago. The wedding is now paid in full, other than the changes I've just made this week (We have uninvited guests showing up! - Coworkers of my fiance).

Our BEO (including taxes) - Which will be changing due to the extra guests.

Ceremony (SBP) - $4500
1 Bottle of Sparking Wine - $77.32
1 bottle Sparkling Cider - $30.93

High Resolution DVD (We traded the Albums, Website Postings and Proof Books for the DVD) - $395
Magic Kingdom Photo Shoot - $1000

Floral Upgrades - $350.92

Floral Upgrades were:
Additions to Bouquet - $60 + tax
(Bouquet will be 36 Hot Pink Roes with 10 Stephanotis Blooms with Aqua Crystal Inserts)
Bridesmaid's Flowers - $85 + tax
(12 roses (Hot Pink and Ivory) with greenery)
Add Crystal Mickey to Groom's Bout - $3 + tax
3 bouts - $10.50 each + tax
3 corsages - $20 + tax
Sprinkle Rose Petals down the aisle $65 + tax
Sprinkle Rose Petals on Cake Table and Cocktail Table $25.00

Wedding Lunch - $1059.04 :

14 Soft Drink & Bottled Water Package - $10.50/guest = $189.43
(we have now decided to bill on consumption)

14 Long Branch Beach Lunch Buffet - $45.25/guest = $816.36

1 Small Party Service Fee - $50 = $53.25

TOTAL $7413.21

This will be changing as we've added guests on. I found out today the plated children's meals are $24.50 + tax each.

We got our vouchers for our passes when we had our contract returned to us, signed by the people at DFTW! :scared1: They came USPS and I had to sign for the envelope that contained the contract and the APs. Maybe call them again.

Yeah, this would concern me as well....your suppossed to get the vouchers for the AP's when you get the signed copy of the contract back....

If you got the contract back and do not have the vouchers (I remember them being green for some reason when we got ours). I would call right away. First of all, DFTW might have to cancel those voucher numbers (like a lost check) and/or they can tell you what needs to be done etc...

Let us know what they say! :goodvibes

Hi all disney escape brides!!! I am new to this site so i'm not down with any of the lingo yet! Myself and my husband to be (DF??) are planning a disney escape wedding at the wedding pavilion on our 8 year anniversary - 2nd August 2012 at 12pm  (it's a while yet so nothing booked, but can't hurt to be prepared :thumbsup2) I should also mention that we live in England which makes things slightly difficult as we won't be able to visit before the wedding. So i just have a few questions to ask ya'll..

1. have any of you got married in August? If so what was the weather like? :cool2:

2. I have read that we need to visit the nearest clerk of the circuit court office to receive our marriage licence before the wedding, is this close to disney? do we need to book an appt before we leave? and how long does this take? as we're planning to do this the day that we arrive

3. What ceremony decor comes with the escape package at the wedding pavilion? I have seen pictures with flowers on the top table, do they provide this in the package or do we need to pay extra for this? :flower3:

4. We don't think we would miss the violinist if we weren't to have one, could we just have a CD played instead? and then could we swap the violinist for an enhancement of some kind? we also don't think we'll use the web site to it's advantage, could this be swapped also?

5. How long does the cake and champagne celebration last? :woohoo:

6. We have seen some gorgous photo's by Randy Chapman, and would love to have him take our pictures! we just wondered if he is an official disney photographer that we book through disney? or is he an outside photographer that we need to contact directly? :surfweb:

7. We plan to do the Magic Kingdom photo session the morning of our wedding. We just wondered what time does this usually start? and I'm hoping to have Beaute Speciale do my hair and make-up, would they come out before sunrise to make me look pretty? it's a big question to ask and wondered if they are willing to do this. We hope to have the shoot when it's dark so the castle is lit beautifully in the photo's, are there different start times that the shoot takes place? :bride:

8. And lastly, after the cake and champagne celebration we plan to go over to Epcot so we can have our picture taken in each country, then eat at the Rose and crown pub for dinner! I understand that we cannot wear wedding attire into the parks, so I was planning on buying a second dress which is white, short, and only slightly bridal to wear to the park with cute sandals. Would this be allowed? and smart trousers, shirt and smart shoes for the groom? and could I take my boquet into the park? - it would be a bit of a waste if I couldn't :cutie:

Sorry for all the questions! I'm sure i'll have even more to ask in the next 2 years and 9 months hehe!! Even if you can only answer one it would be greatly appreciated!! :cheer2:

Thanks for reading! xxx :flower3:

Here's my Escape wedding question. How soon in advance can you actually have the wedding? I don't know how to word the question right, but right now it is November. How likely is it that there will be availability for us in April of 2010?

We're planning on calling Disney today to get some more information. I can't decide which location to use! We're planning on having our immediate families, so the Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge are out. And I don't think I really want to do the Wedding Chapel. So that leaves the Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach Club locations. And I like both!!!

Although on the escape wedding website, it did mention an Epcot location coming soon! It'd be awesome if soon was soon enough for us to get married there!!!

I just called approx two weeks ago for April 16, 2010 and they said all times were available at SBP for that date. Now I picked 2:30, I know that time is not available. :lmao:

Congrats and welcome tinkerbell1988! Can't wait to follow your plans! I also started planning my Disney wedding far in advance but it's slowly getting here (I'm 13 months out). Never too early to start planning:cool1: I'll do my best to answer your questions below (in red)- these boards will tell you everything you need to know, so ask away and happy planning!

There are lots of UK brides on here so I'm sure they can give you some advice on planning a wedding from afar

1. have any of you got married in August? If so what was the weather like? :cool2:
HOT HOT HOT

2. I have read that we need to visit the nearest clerk of the circuit court office to receive our marriage licence before the wedding, is this close to disney? do we need to book an appt before we leave? and how long does this take? as we're planning to do this the day that we arrive
I'm not a ton of help with this question bc I'm still over a year out but I do know there is a courthouse you can get the license through the mail... I want to say Brevard county- this seems like it would be the easiest bc then it's all set before you even arrive. I'll try to dig this up for you

3. What ceremony decor comes with the escape package at the wedding pavilion? I have seen pictures with flowers on the top table, do they provide this in the package or do we need to pay extra for this? :flower3:
No ceremony decor is included in the package- just the bride's bouquet and the grooms bout but you can add on extras without a problem

4. We don't think we would miss the violinist if we weren't to have one, could we just have a CD played instead? and then could we swap the violinist for an enhancement of some kind? we also don't think we'll use the web site to it's advantage, could this be swapped also?
Unfortunately they won't let you "swap" anything in the package- only upgrade... so you could upgrade to a string quartet or something but not downgrade to an ipod or cd

5. How long does the cake and champagne celebration last? :woohoo:
The ceremony and post-celebration is 2 hours total

6. We have seen some gorgous photo's by Randy Chapman, and would love to have him take our pictures! we just wondered if he is an official disney photographer that we book through disney? or is he an outside photographer that we need to contact directly? :surfweb:
Randy is an outside photographer but he used to work for Disney so really knows the ins and outs of Disney weddings. His site is chapmanphotography.com- I also HIGHLY recommend Misty Miotto, she's who I've chosen to go with- her colors are very bright and vibrant and her photos have an artistic feel to them that I just love:love: She has been wonderful to work with so far... her site is mistymiotto.com. I should add that by booking an outside photographer you forfeit that part of the package- but when I did the math I found it to still be worthwhile bc I know I will get great pics plus Disney charges you an arm and a leg to get ur pics on a CD with the rights and both Randy and Misty include this in their package for no extra

:bride:
Photo sessions start EARLY! I think as early as 5 am. We are going to do ours a few days after the wedding bc I would be a zombie the rest of the day:eek: Beaute Speciale will come to your room early enough to get you ready though- they do it all the time:thumbsup2 I also recommend Patricia Lejeune- (www.lejeune-pca.com) she does beautiful work as well and also travels to your room at the wee hours of the am

8. And lastly, after the cake and champagne celebration we plan to go over to Epcot so we can have our picture taken in each country, then eat at the Rose and crown pub for dinner! Would this be allowed? and smart trousers, shirt and smart shoes for the groom? and could I take my boquet into the park? - it would be a bit of a waste if I couldn't :cutie:
I think you can get away with a casual white dress in the parks but am not sure about the bouquet:confused: If you do the MK photoshoot though you can add on an Epcot photoshoot right after for $300 more- then you can wear your wedding gear!

Sorry for all the questions! I'm sure i'll have even more to ask in the next 2 years and 9 months hehe!! Even if you can only answer one it would be greatly appreciated!! :cheer2:

Thanks for reading! xxx :flower3:
Hope that helped some and didn't confuse you more... looking forward to following your plans!

Hi everyone

Just a quick question and its probably stupid but for all those who did the magic kingdom shoot a few days after there wedding, did you get your dresses cleaned straight after your wedding so that they are clean ready for that early morning shoot?

Thanks

I'm not getting it cleaned, I doubt it'll need it, everything I'm doing is inside so I dont think it'll get that dirty.

2. I have read that we need to visit the nearest clerk of the circuit court office to receive our marriage licence before the wedding, is this close to disney? do we need to book an appt before we leave? and how long does this take? as we're planning to do this the day that we arrive

There are two courthouses you can go to near Disney, each about 20-30 minutes away. You do not need an appointment, and most people are in and out within about 15 minutes. The Brevard County mail-away license is another option, but if you're in the UK, it could be a hassle to have to send all the forms back and forth. Most UK couples just take a taxi or rent a car and drive to a nearby courthouse when they get to WDW.

4. We don't think we would miss the violinist if we weren't to have one, could we just have a CD played instead? and then could we swap the violinist for an enhancement of some kind? we also don't think we'll use the web site to it's advantage, could this be swapped also?

There are no swaps allowed in the Escape package. You could pay extra for a CD or iPod sound system, but you would still get the violinist or eat the "cost" - it can't be applied to an upgrade.

Here's my Escape wedding question. How soon in advance can you actually have the wedding? I don't know how to word the question right, but right now it is November. How likely is it that there will be availability for us in April of 2010?

You can book now! :thumbsup2 The earliest you can book is 8 months, and the earliest you can be "penciled in" on their calendar is 12 months.

Although on the escape wedding website, it did mention an Epcot location coming soon! It'd be awesome if soon was soon enough for us to get married there!!!

It is available for next year. The package price if you pick Canada is $5895. You get everything included in the regular Escape package, plus extended limo time, a motorcoach for guests, and park guides - all of which are required for in-park events. You arrive at 8:30am for pictures and can only take pictures in Canada. The ceremony starts at 9am, and you must be out of there by 10:30am.

My dress was a little dirty on the bottom, but I didn't bother cleaning it before the Magic Kingdom shoot because it gets REALLY dirty in the park. The streets are all wet. The dirt won't really show up in your photos, so I'd wait and have it cleaned afterward.

Wow thanks so much Polynesianbride!! you really went to town on those answers!!!! :thumbsup2 And also thanks lurkyloo for your answers too!

We will definately take a look at Misty Motto and Patricia Lejune! and we are now also considering doing the MK and a epcot photoshoot a couple of days after the wedding, as I don't think we could handle a 5am start on our big day!! :scared1: even if it does mean paying for my hair and make-up twice! All the info you gave was extreemely helpful! I will definately be posting on here with any other questions I may have, and one day I may even start a PJ so stay tuned!! :goodvibes

Thanks again! xxx :cool1:

Question for you lurkyloo or anyone who knows. What are license requirements for VR?

TIA

None. Officially, you have to be able to prove you're already married by showing your marriage license, but I've never heard of them actually checking. :thumbsup2

Random flower question:

Does anyone know the "value" of the bouquet included in the Escape package? I am not using traditional flowers (I am using wheat and lavender) so my bouquet will be really low cost. Is there a chance that they will adjust the price for my BM bouquets based on this? Or include them in this price? The prices I have seen on other sites for similar bouquets are between $20 and $50, so I just want to be sure I am not loosing any money!

Thanks:goodvibes

Is there a place I can go online to look at the different pictures of flowers and cakes they have available for an escape wedding? I know you can kind of pay extra for things if they don't have what you want. And I have a specific flower bouquet in mind. It's kind of the most colorful flower bouquet ever. I figure I'm wearing white, why not jazz it up with some color!?
