Hi!
Yes,Im waiting for my quote back...but isnt it always going to be cheaper to book direct with Disney?
No it isn't always cheaper to book directly with Disney - infact sometimes other agents (like Dreams) are cheaper and/or can offer additional incentives (like, if you book a cruise, they sometimes offer an "onboard credit"...).
Disney basically has two prices - the one it offers the general public (i.e. you) and the one it offers travel agents (like Dreams... although, in reality, they may offer certain certain travel agents more preferential rates). The agents then put their commission on top of that - so it often depends on what size commission the agent wants...
So it is often worth shopping around. However some companies - for example the
Royal Caribbean cruise company - don't allow travel agents to undercut them (i.e. offer cheaper prices). That sounds rather like anti-competitive practice to me, but still...

I dont understand why everybody doesnt if it is cheaper!!!??
Disney are not necessarily always cheaper (as mentioned above) AND some TAs (like Dreams) tend to offer more personlised service - i.e. you will have a name and a direct email for the travel consultant handling your booking. If you deal with Disney directly, you will probably use a general phone number/email address for any enquiries and could end up speaking to anyone.
To be honest, I am GENERALLY not a
travel agent fan (certainly not MOST of the ones int his country). But have had a good agent with Dreams and a couple of other US travel agencies (they tend to know their stuff and are very helpful). If Disney was cheaper, I would book direct with them. If Disney and Dreams were the same, I would book with Dreams (because I - and others - have had good previous experiences with them...).
Sorry, rambling too much
