Anyone else nervous about “soon to be” Hurricane Erin. I know they think she’ll turn north, but even if that happens, some are saying there might be very high waves and that cruise itineraries are starting to be altered. We are supposed to cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale on the 22nd. Watching this closely.

I'm sure somebody is nervous about Erin, but the reality is that latest forecasts show it won't be an issue.

DCL, and all the cruise lines, are quite well versed in how to avoid bad weather. They will change itineraries if need be.

If the ship cannot come into port, etc. are all things to be considered. I’m not too nervous about once onboard. Logistics of the rest are a bit nerve wracking.

I think by the 22nd Erin will be long gone down south. I sail Sunday on the Magic and then the 22nd on Utopia of the Seas. While I'm going in knowing there is a good chance we could miss CC (the only itinerary adjustment that would really bother me), I'm still expecting to have a great cruise. Hoping to find sunshine somewhere out there. Good luck! :goodvibes

To be fair, that can happen even when there is no storm anywhere around. Just remember they don't WANT to miss ports - they do it for your safety when they absolutely have to.

And know that the cruise activities team will pivot on a dime to get new activities going on board - move the character meets to places on the ship, etc.

ETA: I get it's disappointing to miss it. While my ship has docked on every cruise, one day we shouldn't have - there was a squall they thought was going to blow over so they docked. It didn't and we spent the whole day on the ship docked at the island while the winds blew and rains poured. We all would have rather NOT docked than been that close to it.

You should be fine out of FLL on the 22nd. Erin should be moving well up the eastern seaboard by then-hopefully threading the needle between the coast and Bermuda. Keep an eye. Flights out of northeastern airports especially.

Saw where the Treasure is now doing Western Caribbean instead of Eastern Caribbean. Haven't heard of any changes for the Magic, Dream, or Wish.

Unless any of them were going to San Juan or further east, there probably won't be any *planned* changes. There could be day-of port misses if the waves/currents are such that it's too dangerous or impossible to dock.
