Hi can anyone tell me the rules of wearing an ergobaby carrier on board rides. I am hoping to wear one of my twins (and my husband the other twin) in ques and rides etc we only gave the ergobaby so hoping it is suitable.

Thanks in advance!

We used an ergo last year, just a few times when our 8-month-old was napping, and it was mostly okay, except for one bad experience. You are unfortunately at the mercy of CMs, and you have no idea what they might say right before you board a ride.

The good: no problem on Winnie the Pooh, even with a lap bar. Also fine on Triceratops Spin. There were a couple of other rides that I don't remember, and of course it was also no problem during character meets - he slept right through Baloo and Louie while his older brother had a great time.

The bad: at the very front of the line on Toy Story Midway Mania (at the bottom of the stairs, right when everyone is in a rush to board), the CM made my wife wake up our infant and seat him next to her. The CM insisted he couldn't even be on her lap, he had to be out of the ergo and sit by himself. As you would imagine (after being suddenly awakened into a manic environment), he screamed for the first 80% of the ride, and neither of them could enjoy the ride at all. Our older son and I were also distracted by the screaming, so none of us enjoyed it - and I imagine other nearby guests were also not exactly hitting their high scores. I can't imagine what the point of it was, from the CM's perspective. Our infant would have easily slept through TSMM, and we all could have enjoyed the ride.

We had an old version of the ergo, where the baby can only face in.

I'm not sure if there are specific rules. I know I wore babies on plenty of rides. I do remember bringing my 8 week old daughter on Dumbo and the CM made me put her on the seat next to me while he put the bar (or seat belt? can't remember) down. He said after he did that, I could pick her up again. It seemed like a strange rule. So I put her on the seat in a seated position and then picked her up after we were buckled. Most of the rides we went on though I could wear them.

We just got back and didn't have any issues with our baby in the carrier. I don't recall ever having to take him out, and we wore him everywhere. That said, we didn't ride TSMM.

Oh, and I'd be careful on the safari. It's very bumpy and we took him out of the carrier while on the ride because he seemed more stable in my wife's lap than in the carrier. (it was also the only time he melted down on the entire trip)

And one more thing, we got little baby headphones, for when he was napping on rides so that the sound wouldn't wake him. They work pretty well if that is a concern of yours.

That's bizarre that the CM wouldn't allow the baby to be on your lap on TSMM. My 2-year-old sat on my wife's lap on this ride in August and no one said anything. (She sat on a lap on most rides, in fact.)
