ER last night

Can anyone update me on last nights( Jan 4) episode of ER? My VCR didn't tape it #@&%$ for some reason..........

I'll try to fill you in on what I remember...Dr. Weaver is leaving for a Job in Miami, after she found out Luca was going to fire her. Dr. Pratt is in trouble. Meg came in and started trouble in the ER w/ Neela. Sam's grandmother is in town and her son stole the red heads guys credit card and bought stuff over the internet. If I think of anymore I'll let you know.

I just watched. I'll give it a try.

Luca has to make some budget cuts. He decides to cut Weaver, and she is really pi--ed off. But she has a job offer in Miami, to be on a newscast. She has a really hard day, and does some Mcguyver type Dr. things and saves 2 lifes, so comes to terms, w/ things, and decides to resign. Next week is her last night on the show.

Morris, is having trouble w/ his credit cards, and finds out that Sam's son has stolen his number, and has spent ALOT. Sam's grandmother comes to town, because she got kicked out of her nursing home, for growing pot Anyway, she is quite a character. She is going to stay for awhile. She is the one who gets the boy to confess, but the scenes from next week, show her, and him slapping each other.

John Stamo's character(can't remember his name) brings the girl, who's mother he lives with to the ER to shadow. She calls Neala a *****, and then her mom shows up, drunk, and causes a big scene-goes after Neala, saying she can't steal him away. Turns out she used her husb. insurance $$ to pay for his med school. Kind of sucks.

Pratt, and the little blond Dr. treat a patient who dies, because of the wrong meds. Turns out that Pratt saw the pt. at the church clinic, and gave them to him. He takes the fall, for the blond, and tells the wife, but somehow legal finds out, and turns the church into the authorities. Just a matter of time before the learn Pratt was involved- which is a felony.

Can't think of much else. The male nurse from S. Carolina helps Sam move, and is staying for awhile.

I actually got to watch it! LOL. I usually get so busy....

Let's see....by character...

Weaver had that tv lady at her house, phone rang and tv lady answered. It was a news station in Miami calling for Weaver.

Later Luka told her he had to make budget cuts, like $200,000. The easiest way to do that was for him or her to go. Of course he was implying it had to be her. She was pissed at first.

After all she saved his butt from getting fired by being demoted from chief of staff. This is how he thanks her? Luka wasn't very popular in the ER at that moment. Abby promised to talk to Luka.

Weaver spends the rest of the show playing hero and saving lives, making Luka look bad. He starts feeling sheepish.

Weaver has the special patient...a diabetic from New Orleans. Patient had to have her toes amputated but didn't want to loose one more thing in life. She already lost her home and husband in Katrina. The toes were cut in the flood waters, thus giving her bad infection, leading to this.

Of course, the patient finally gives in trusting Weaver. And of course, during surgery the staff finds out they have to amputate BOTH feet. Patient is hacked off when Weaver visits her in recovery. All this leads to Weaver reaching a turning point in her life.

Last moment of the show, Luka feels bad and wants to work things out. She said no, I resign. I've done everything and loved it here. Thought I've moved on since Sandy (whatever her partner's name was) died. I really haven't. So if you're in Miami, look for me on the news. If I'm not there, I'm on the beach with Henry. She walked out.

Had that little girl that he was helping raise at the ER with him.

The mom showed up to get her...drunk. She was stilled pissed about being told it's over.

She made a HUGE scene in the hallways and all. Screaming and calling Neela a B**** over and over.

He took her in a room. He reminded her its over. She continued and even started trying to beat on him and lashing at him. I forget how that finished up.

The daughter was outside in the ambulance bay in the snow crying from humiliation. Neela went out to talk to her. Neela herself was pretty annoyed by this whole situation.
The daughter told her to do them a favor and leave him. He's just having sex with you. That's what he does. He always comes back to us. Then she stormed back inside.

Pratt had a patient die on him. You know , the usual CPR for 45 minutes past time to call it. Everyone else trying to get him to stop. And of course the wife has to be standing there the whole time begging him to continue.
Abby finally calls it. and wife is wailing.
Pratt is emotionally attached to the patient because he is one that was getting meds from that church that Pratt took the ER supplies too.
Apparently the meds were not prescribed right or something, causing the patient to come into ER and die.

Meanwhile a lady has to come in and investigate the man's death. She has already caught on that the man was illegally using a drug he got thru the church.......Bingo...Pratt is freaking out.

What's her name, the nurse that dated Luka, and had that wild run in and shot her ex....is it Sam?

Sam's grandmother shows up. The new intern guy helps Sam and son and grandma move into a new apartment. They share a kiss.

Those are the main things. Everything else is ususal ER stuff.

Did they amputate both feet on that lady? I thought they were just amputating the one leg up to her knee. I must have missed that.

I never heard both feet either- Only the one-but a below the knee (BKA) amputation, rather than the 2 toes.

That is what I assumed, until Weaver was talking to the woman after the surgery trying to encourage her.

She spoke of prothetic legs in the plural sense. I remember being shocked thinking, did they chop both of them off?

I heard it and read it on the closed captioning.

I thought it was only one leg too. Poor Pratt, the teaser for next week showed him in handcuffs SO is Sam's grandma going to be a regular? She looks familar, like some old movie actress......
