After being seizure free for 25 years, my EEG is showing some spikes again. Although I've been to WDW a lot, I really can't remember which attractions have flashing lights or other features that I might need to avoid. Can anyone familiar with seizure disorders tell me which shows and rides to avoid?

I also have epilepsy, but mine is due to paint senstivity. Remember that all the attractions that offer photos have flashing lights for the photo to be taken, so that eliminates Tower, Buzz, Rockin Rollercoaster, Splash, Dinosaur, Everest, and I can't think of anymore. I hope this helps you.

Off hand I can think of Stitches great escape, space mountain, test track has some flashing lights- I am not sure if these can cause a seizure- I am just thinking of places that have flashing lights- Spectro magic parade has lots of flashing lights.

I have low vision issues and one problem I have is riding dark rides and people all around me are flashing lights from cameras- even though they say NO FLASH photography. so rides like small world, pirates, haunted mansion etc.. are ruined for me :headache: as the camera flashes cause me NOT to be able to see for long periods of time. I really DISLIKE greatly:mad: the flashing mickey ears or necklaces during those ride too-
i don't know if that would be a concern for you- Just a thought

Even though the flashes aren't "regular" one of my friends who has epilepsy had problems with Voyage of the Little Mermaid during the storm scene.

If you look on the disABILITIES FAQs thread, post #3 of that thread has some links to past threads. There is a section of that thread about specific conditions or concerns, which has information in alphabetical order. One of the thread is about epilepsy.

I've been seizure free for about 20 years too, but I guess I'm what you could nicely call "paranoid"! I just close my eyes on rides that have flashing lights. I also do this when watching certain movies or at concerts. It always makes me feel safer. I ride everything and never have any problems. I suggest researching the rides and closing your eyes the second you see the first bright flash of light!

A lot depends on if one flash of light will cause you a problem or if it needs to be many flashes or many in a rhythmic fashion. If it is one flash, you will want to know which attractions take a picture and when so that you can prepare for it or avoid those attractions if you are especially concerned.
These 2 threads have a lot of information about flashing lights in attractions (links to them are also in the disABILITIES FAQs thread in post #3).

You can also check for ride videos on youtube.com . Many of the rides are dark, so you won't see much detail, but will see flashes.
