We plan on waiting until late 2026....seems Epic needs more time to get things smoother.

I tend to either do Disney or Everything Else on any given trip to Orlando. There are exceptions to that, but they are rare. I am looking forward to Epic but will save it for a trip when I am doing Everything Else. Probably a few years from now.

I do miss Velocicoaster though. "They're quicker than you realize, Claire!" And I hear that the new duelers at Epic are both fantastic.

I thought this might be interesting. Please add any additional insights in the comments to and let us know if your next WDW stay will be a DVC resort , other Disney resort, Off Property (gasp!) or Universal…

Definitely interested in this too. Our next trip in NYE week 2025 and they aren't selling 1 day tickets during that period, so we won't be visiting. Thought about doing it on March trip DH feels it's too expensive with park ticket and express pass and doesn't feel worth it. I'd still like to do it once though!

That’s kind of where I am…. I’d love to do it… but it would be a LOT of $$$ for a single day and with park capacity issues the express pass is almost a must….

Disney really gets you with the multi day tickets because the first couple days are outrageously expensive but the cost curve goes down dramatically the longer you stay…. so taking one day off at the cost of $20 per day per person with a $35 LL and then adding in an Epic ticket and a EP for what $300-400 a day per person?

I always think this when I am thinking about the cost of LLMP and LLSP. It could be sooooo much worse. We are not necessarily Universal "people" either, so if we get there and my kids say they didn't love it after spending that chunk of change, it would ruin everyone's day! I really hope one of our Dis counterparts does the Epic thing though and tells us if they think it's worth it without buying EP

I’ve been twice and did not have a positive experience either time. We won’t go back until they offer an annual pass, or a deep discount. We have six of us going to the “not so scary” Halloween party, six of us going to the Christmas party, and two running the marathon. So it’s not the expense of the ticket, but rather the value. It’s a roll of the dice on which rides are working on a daily basis, and if the weather is bad forget it. We have sorcerer passes at Disney and just let our Universal passes expire. If they offer an Epic annual pass then I would be ok going because I wouldn’t feel like I wasted money if it’s a wash out.

I'm going on a solo trip in October. I've no interest in Epic Universe other than my dashed hopes that Disney crowds would be lower once it opened.

There are 11 rides and two shows … but … there are only five attractions that are not exposed to the elements. Ministry of Magic ( good luck with that) and Mario Kart (marginally better), plus the dependable three: monsters unchained and two shows. If the weather shuts down the outdoor rides, the crowd (understandably) overwhelms the indoor choices. There is nothing to wander around and look at that is not exposed. No hall of Presidents type attraction for a midday airconditioning nap. No CommuniCore Hall ( I’m sorry I said the refurb was ugly) to hide in from lightning. they’ve got some work to do … it’s Orlando, and it honestly reminded me of a very beautiful upscale six flags amusement park.

And that's exactly why I tend to do Disney or Everything Else. For me, Everything Else is a lot of fun, but I am also not a Disney-or-die sort of person, and I like my local Six Flags* park. A lot.

*: This is cheating a little bit, because Cedar Fair took on the Six Flags name when they merged. We spent a lovely Labor Day at Cedar Point last weekend. Perfect weather, great coasters, and a top-notch flat ride lineup. The latest addition, Siren's Curse, is more fun than it has a right to be given its size. Vekoma (also the manufacturer for Guardians) has really upped its game from the old hang-n-bang days.
