Has anybody done this, and if so, how was it? I signed our family up for it (for a 10:00 am ps - yuck, but my fault, I waited to long to call). Anyway, I digress. I haven't heard anything about it and was wondering if anybody could tell me if they liked it, what was it like, etc.

Thanks a lot!

Yes, we did this last August and it was great!!! They take you up in an elevator to the second floor of the American Adventure building. They have complimentary popcorn and juice for everyone and the room was very nice!!!!! They have a special character that comes out and reads a story and then visits with everyone. They had Belle read the Beauty and the Beast story when we were there and she also gave every child a very nice hardback storybook with her signature and lipstick kiss inside. She posed for several pictures and spent several minutes with each child. It was wonderful and I would love to do it again!!! Have fun!!!

It seems they have this at AK, now. I'd also like to know how to sign up. Iunderstand it's only for AMEX cardholders.

There are a couple of different character storytelling experiences at WDW.

One way is to use a wish from the Dream Maker package for the following :
taken from the Disney Travel Co. site:
"The new Disney Story Magic experience at Epcot® will captivate the imagination of your clients as they hear the tale of a Disney classic. Afterwards, one of the characters from the story will spring from the pages of a life-size book for a personal meet and greet. Your clients will hear the story of Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland or other popular Disney favorites. Don't forget to tell your clients to bring their autograph book and video camera!

Clients already traveling on Walt Disney Travel Company packaged vacations can experience Disney Story Magic at Epcot "Choice Feature" option by calling 407-WDW-DINE and redeeming the party's package choice certificate (the certificate may not be split for individual use – the one choice feature chosen by the party must be used by all guests in a room at the same time and at the same location). Reservations are required and may be made up to 45 days prior to arrival.

The Disney Story Magic at Epcot® experience is only available to those visiting the Walt Disney World Resort on packaged vacations."

There are regularly scheduled storytimes with Belle in the Magic Kingdom. It's in a garden near the castle & kids are chosen to participate. After the story there is an autograph & photo session with Belle. I know I saw this on a park map that someone brought back recently so it appears this is still going on. We got there early and DS was chosen to participate. Lots of fun!

At AKL there is nightly storytelling outside at Arusha Rock near the firepit.

I don't think anything is limited to AMEX users anymore since the White Glove treatment is gone. Now that the Disney Visa is out there is really no mention on any AMEX special programs.

HTH!

austinsmommy -

Thanks so much for your response!! I was having trouble finding anyone who had done it. It looked like a fun thing to do - I knew the girls would love it - but I wanted the whats-what from somebody who actually went!

Thanks again :)

You're welcome!!

Some more info...we were outside the American Pavilion at the KidCot fun stop when a CM approached me and asked if I would be interested in the storytelling. He said that it is usually only for AMEX cardholders but if they do not have enough families signed up then they will invite others to join. He said that they were offered in all 4 parks and if we were ever interested again that we could just go to customer relations once we were at the park and they would check if they have any openings for the day. So,you do not necessarily HAVE to be an AMEX cardholder.. if any of you are interested, just ask when you get to the park!!! It really was great and my 4 yr old DS loved it!!!
