Ok, first off technically I have been back for a week now. I was in WDW from Sept 20th to Sept 27th. For those of you who will be reading this that don't know me already my name is Jon, I am 30 years old and I have been to WDW several times in the past. I think like 15 to 20 times. On this trip I went for a week with My bro James, my sis in law Laci, Friends Heather and Robbie, and their son Jett who is six. There were originally going to be another family of friends joining us but they had to drop out from the trip which leads to the first story I guess of this trip.

If you have spoken with me in the chat room before you might know that the original plans for this trip was suppose to be a week at the AKL in a two bedroom suite with all of the adults on the trip splitting the cost of the room. Well, when Toby and Kristen dropped out that put a kink in the plans because it was going to be a bit steep for the rest of us to make up the price difference. Unfortunately this led to the cancellation of at Kidani. I was really looking forward to that as well. Needless to say this put the first cloud over my head personally.

So anyway that brings me to where we actually did stay. Given the amount of time and space still needed at such a short notice we ended up staying off property. Now the place we stayed was a place called Royal Parc Suites. A place that was recently renovated and taken over by Quality. We had two rooms. Both were one bedroom suites and were only about 69 dollars a night. That should have been the first clue.

So we are going down in two vehicles right. Robbie has just discovered how good a GPS can be after previous criticism of them and is pretty much using one for the first time. I have mine with us in our vehicle as well. So the GPS is taking us east on 192 just as it should and we are coming up on our destination. Well it tells us to turn right. Now normally I would just trust when it says turn but I did have it take me to a turn that would have put me in the river so I was looking for some signage for the hotel. So we end up turning one road past were the turn is actually suppose to be and are still looking for something that says Royal Parc Suites. Robbie's wife Heather made these reservations so I am clueless thus far that this hotel is presented by Quality. Anyway, she looks on the Paper and discovers this and we all saw a sign that said Quality Suites but that was all. The only mark on the outside of the hotel itself is a court jester.(go figure) Apparently this is because it is suppose to have some sort of Mardi Gras theme.(this will somewhat come into play later)

So, once we get checked in my bro has the slip with the key cards in it and directs us to room 426 when the slip actually said 436. So we are there trying to get in to room 426 with the wrong key card. My sis in law Laci has swiped the key twice and the light flashes red both times and yet she is able to open the door. So we go in anyway and think hey this is pretty nice. Well, it was a bit more spacious and that was mostly because it was a two bedroom suite. We didn't realize this though and we have brought a good bit of our luggage in the room. Well, James and Laci have already gone back to get their last bit I start to go out the room and run into Heather and she tells me that we were side by side and that her room number is 435. Now I am outside of the room and have shut the door with our luggage inside and guess what? That's right now we can't get in. So we go to the front desk to tell the guy that checked us in what happened. After he got over the initial look of horror on his face he went with us in the room to get our luggage and it was no problem. Fortunately, it wasn't a room that was already in use. Only thing I can figure is that housekeeping forgot to shut the door all the way. Either way it doesn't really give you a good feeling.

Wow, I can't believe all that I have typed and am not out of arrival day yet lol. So we pretty much just hang out the rest of this evening. The only time we left the Hotel that evening was for dinner and that was at an Italian place called Pacino's. It was the worst meal of the trip. Nothing memorable about the food at all. Service was nothing special either. You can tell it was in tourist central though because they took your picture and try to sell it to you. I can't believe that anyone has bought one before, but I guess they still try it for a reason. The rest of the evening is spent in the hotel pool which was nice that evening. However, it would be the only time I personally set foot in the pool.(again I shall probably mention something about that later as well)

How nice. You finally made a trip report. I guess you proved me wrong and actually did it. And it only took you a week to get to your arrival. I wonder how long it will take to get past your first day? I won't be holding my breath.

Neither one of you can fool me. You're just trying to add to your post count. ;)

This had better be a good trip report. :) I've been waiting a week for this. Lets not hope that it takes another week to get past your arrival day.

I am tempted to keep you waiting with comments like that. And I am passed the first day.

Alright let's move on with the report shall we. After a night in which I was unusually restless we headed to Sea World. Now my first thoughts when I see the turn in to Sea World is whether or not all that fog or mist coming from the sign has ever caused a traffic accident. We get to the parking lot and notice that the crowds appear as though they are going to be pretty tame and that would be the case. First thing we headed to was the Manta.

Now for those of you that don't know this is the newest attraction to Sea World. Oh by the way did I mention that I had never been to Sea World before. Anyway, The Manta is a flying roller coaster that just recently opened. I thought this ride was awesome. My sis n law Laci was not to keen on this one. She doesn't too much like the idea of the restraints being the only thing between you and the ground or water in some cases. After we got off she still said she didn't really like it but she would be willing to do it again. She still was not that fond of it.

So after the Manta we keep the ride theme going and head over to Atlantis. Now the only two people who had been on this ride(Robbie and Jett) opted out of it. This ride was literally empty. While we were watching it from the outside we saw several ride vehicles with empty seats. So we walk right on this one and James and Laci sit in the front Heather got in the back so I decided that I would sit in the third seat all by myself. The ride starts out a lot like a dark ride. Telling some kind of a story that I myself found very difficult to follow but who cares because that part was rather short before we start making the climb. By the way did I mention that this was a water flume ride? So after making the climb we eventually go down a drop that is about eight feet I believe steeper than Splash Mountain. The difference with this one is that if you sit in the front ala James and Laci you will definitely get soaked. After the drop it is like the water jumps in the front seat of the vehicle. However, the ride does not end there. It takes a second climb the is slightly smaller and takes you on a little surprise at the end. I think if there is someone that reads this that has never been I will leave that part out. You may eventually go and find out for yourself.

Ok, with James and Laci soaked from the waste down we decided to head on over to the Kraken. Now the Kraken is a floorless coaster that has a couple of tight twists. I enjoyed the ride overall but it is not one that I think I could just do over and over consecutively. At one point I actually lost focus. I have never had that happen to me on a coaster. Laci really like this one.

So now with the thrill rides of Sea World behind us we slowly but surely tour around and work our way to Shamu Stadium for the first showing of Believe for the day. I must say that I was more impressed with the show than I thought I would be originally. It was pretty much a typical show other than the moment when I bird swooped down and stole a fish. All I can say is that it is a good thing the bird didn't decide to perch on the water for a while like the video I saw of a show in San Diego.

After the show we decided to go to the Artic. We took the chopper ride which if you use your imagination would be like if they added the Hoth System to Star Tours. After the ride you get to see some really night mammals that like a cooler climate like polar bears, walrus, etc.

After leaving there we had to book it because we were going to make the 1:00 show of Blue Horizons. I enjoyed this show as well. I would have to say I liked it the least of the three that I watched. The dolphin and bird elements are cool but they really seem like they do a lot of filler with the Human aspects of the show. It is hard to describe this one other than it is kinda like a circus mixed in with some girls dream about dolphins. Aren't I so elegant with my descriptions lol.

Ok after that we decided to get some lunch. We ended up at the Seafire Inn. Now I have to mention now one of the things I have noticed pretty much all day and particularly stood out here. I guess this is the difference between a park worker and a cast member. I think like maybe once or twice the whole day did I see one person that was smiling or saying hello or anything like that. Most of them looked like they were so depressed they were suffering a fate worse than death by being there. As I said this comes in to play especially here. While we were in line you come to a spot where they ask you for your drink order. I say ask it was more like "What are you drinking?" at micromachine man speed and with a tone that was similar to a drill sargeant. Anyway, after we were threatened into getting our drinks I ended up order the fish and chip there. It was not bad. Nothing special. After lunch it was looking like a storm was about to come up so we hurried it on over to Clyde and Seamore take Pirate Island.

Now this was the best show of the three to me. This show was right up my alley. I could tell I was going to enjoy this one from the moment the Pirate Mime came out in the pre show. This guy was hilarious. The show is very well done with corny jokes and slapstick humor involving Sea Lions, an Otter and a Walrus. I would say this was the highlight of my day at Sea World. So after the show we eventually made our way back to where the dolphin feeding place is and hung out there for a little while. One of the dolphins even tossed it's toy over to Laci once and a little bit later to Jett. I really enjoyed Sea World a lot more than I thought I would. I had never ventured outside of WDW to explore a theme park. I would go back for sure.

So let's see what else. Oh yes this is the evening that Chick kidnapped me and took me to the Contemporary for a DIS meet with CLR. It was her last night and she could not bare the thought of being this close to me and not meeting. :thumbsup2 At least that is how I remember it anyway. So from there Chick proceeds to kidnap us both and we pretty much ride around for a while. We did go over to the Wilderness Lodge since CLR had never seen it before and kinda wanted to check it out. We also went out on the dock there and introduced ourselves to the gnats while on our way to try and get a glimpse of Wishes. FYI that is a horrible place to see the fireworks. The view is blocked and you get your lungs filled with gnats. lol After that I we somehow ended up at a 7 eleven. I can tell you are all very excited about the 7 eleven but I will spare you all the details and descriptions and end this section of the report. Tune in next time when I move on to the day at Typhoon Lagoon. That's right a whole day. Not really my choice. See ya next time.

So after the Manta we keep the ride theme going and head over to Atlantis. I don't remember this being the order of the day I emailed you. What happened to feeding the dolphins and touching the stingrays? Why did I waste my time giving you all those tips if you weren't going to use them? I'm so gonna charge you next time!

After leaving there we had to book it because we were going to make the 1:00 show of Blue Horizons. Uh huh, you had to book it cause you didn't follow my directions. See!

So let's see what else. Oh yes this is the evening that Chick kidnapped me and took me to the Contemporary for a DIS meet with CLR. Excuse you! I did what? See if I ever take you anywhere again Mr. I'mStuckHereWithNoCarOfMyOwn. It was her last night and she could not bare the thought of being this close to me and not meeting. :thumbsup2 At least that is how I remember it anyway. So from there Chick proceeds to kidnap us both and we pretty much ride around for a while. Oh please! Here we go with that kidnapping business again! You know I'm the innocent one here. Bytheway, you forgot how we tried to convince the DVC chick to let us go check out BLT. Apparently she did not know of my powers that give me special privelages. Oh and how could you forget the monorail ride where we checked out the Grand Floridian since CLR hadn't been there and you just HAD to go wash your hands with that expensive sugar and salt scrub stuff at the Basin store? Talk about prissy! princess: We did go over to the Wilderness Lodge since CLR had never seen it before and kinda wanted to check it out. We also went out on the dock there and introduced ourselves to the gnats while on our way to try and get a glimpse of Wishes. FYI that is a horrible place to see the fireworks. Ok it looks like I'm going to have to keep track of this trip report just to make sure you get all the facts straight. I wouldn't want people getting the wrong idea about what went on. And besides, you're leaving out key details. What's up with that? :confused3

Lol FL and EM, this is hysterical.

EM, you used the salt scrub at Basin? Spill more FL, this is getting good!

Why leaving so much out EM?

Ok, I did leave out the Grand Floridian part. Excuse me. And you both know the only reason I washed my hands in there was because you gals weren't going to let me leave until I did. You know it's true. See chick I took your advice on Sea World as more guidelines than actual rules.

...and didn't I specifically tell EM to have lunch at the Budweiser place..where they have the good sandwiches and decent service because I think those folks are working for Budweiser..Busch whatever??..why did you eat elsewhere??..

I don't recall that Newby. Maybe you should have sent me an email of guidelines for me to ignore as well lol

I can't imagine that you LOST FOCUS on a ride EM. Enjoying the tr although some of it seems to need to be corrected by chick. How can you forget to leave those important parts out??? Can't wait to read more. :)

Hope you can make it down for NYE....Chick and I will be there and perhaps we should co-author that Trip Report??
