Epcot ?

We areleaving for Fl the 21st. I was going to only do 2 WDW parks because we are going to UVS/IOA for a day. Well I just read on here how Epcot has cut hours. I have also read on another site how Epcot has taken a turn for the worst. So my ? is
should we skip Epcot and buy a 2 day pass for UVS/IOA. Once again I have a 9 year old son and a 21 month old dd. I just want this to be so fun for them. Epcot used to be my fav but now im not so sure I want to waste my time with it. What do you all think? We will only be in Fl a week. We stay at the Orange Lake resort and its soo nice we want a day or 2 just to hang out at the pools. Thanks for your help.

Epcot has taken a turn for the worse? News to me. I'd definitely give it a try. Then again, with a not-quite two year old... Who knows.

No opinion on the Universal parks, but with your aged children you might consider the Disney Studios for your second park--Playhouse Disney, Muppets, Honey I Shrunk the Audience Playground, stage shows---and Fantasmic if your 21 month old is not the easily frightened type.

i just returned last week with my 2 & 3 yo and they had a great time at epcot.
they liked the energy ride, "the ball" ride, the rides at mexico and norway, wlaking around the living seas and innoventions
the water fountains were a big hit too
of course, they also made the masks at the countries which took awhile

to spend a whole day in? Any others think its a better to do than Epcot with 2 kids?

I think there is more to do at MGM than EPCOT for your kids. Especially PlayHouse Disney

I don't know we have a hard time spending an entire day at MGM. Where we go from opening until closing easily in Epcot. Also, it depends on Fantasmic. I think this show is worth the price of admission to MGM alone. However, if you youngest scares easily this show won't be for him. So many parents have to leave in the first 10 minutes. If you think Fantasmic won't be good for your youngest, then Illuminations at Epcot is wonderful. I love MGM, but we get through it pretty fast. We always skipped Epcot, until our last trip (one month ago). We will never skip it again. We had a great time, but then again I have nothing to compare it to.

Attendance is down especially at Epcot. There was an article in the paper today about how empty Epcot is. But a turn for the worst We don't think so. However, I do believe Disney is confusing park travelers by constantly shuffling park hours. Can make it hard to plan. Some kids do think Epcot is boring, but you don't have to spend the entire day there if that is the case with your 9yr old. MGM is an alternative. If Epcot is one of your favorite parks, Imo try to think positive and give it a try again.

Yes, go to Epcot it will be good for the kids. They have a lot of shows and fun rides. My kids don't really like it but they're are older and they like thrill rides like Test Track but your kids probably won't go on that so i would say to go to Epcot!

Still not to sure what to do. We can't do both because we wont have time. My son would love test track, but would also like the rocken coaster at MGM. Ho Hum what to do. My 21 month old little
girl may be scared of the show at MGM. Im not sure. I will know
when I take her on snow white . If she is scared of that then forget it I would think!

Is MGM open early on one of the days you are there? If so, you could be there early and stay till about 1:00, take a break at the hotel, then head to Epcot about 4:00. You wouldn't be able to see all of Epcot, but that would give you a chance to do the highlights and see Illuminations.

That's a tough one! If it were me I'd skip the UVS/IOA and do a day in each park. But if you're set on it I'd agree with jansmom and go to MGM.

We are doing UVS/IOA for my 9 year old. he likes the thrill rides
and is sooo excited about going. Maybe IF we are not to tired we can try to spend a day at MGM it sounds fun, but I dont see my 21 month old liking that show. I noticed someone here said a 3 year old liked Norway. It says at the Epcot site you must be 3 years old. Guess you got lucky that day.

The little one will like Muppets 3D at MGM. The 9 year old - Rockin' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror at MGM - Test Track at Epcot.

None of the rides at Disney have an age restriction. It is usually a height and "condition" restriction.
