Hi everyone! My family will be back to WDW in September and my sister's family is coming along this time. My nephews are 5 and 2 and my son is 16 so it's been awhile since I toured with younger kids! I remember when my son was younger they had "kidcot"(I think they called it) stations all around the world showcase. Do they still do that? Also, if anyone has any other tips for fun stuff to do and see in epcot with younger kids I'd appreciate it! We're definitely going to do Nemo, the aquarium there and Turtle talk with crush. I think they'd like Living with the Land and the ride in the Mexico pavilion too, any more tips would be greatly appreciated! :thumbsup2

The 2 year old will probably be too young, but the 5 year old would likely love the Agent P World Showcase Adventure. It's hands on, they get a little "cell phone" to play with, and it allows you to tour a pavilion extensively while they play. An adult will have to be involved to help them figure out what to do, but I think it's fun for adults as well.

I agree with the Agent P game, and the kidcot stops are enjoyable breaks. There is also the miniature train village in Germany. Both of the boys are at an age where they could enjoy watching the mini train:-) The Japan Store (Pick a Pearl) is fun to watch. A kaki gori (shaved ice) in Japan has always been a favourite treat for my DD's.

Club Cool in Future World (if they are allowed to sample soft drinks by Coke).
Also in Future World, Innoventions East / West have a few fun activities and character meets (air conditioned too).

Have a great trip!

My kiddos were pretty bored with the World Showcase last year (we didn't do the Agent P thing. It's on the list this year), but enjoyed a lot of Future World. We spent a decent amount of time looking at all of the fish tanks at The Seas, and my 4 year old really got a kick out of Club Cool, because she had never had soda before.

I wouldn't bring the two younger kids to World Showcase. A lot of kids find it super boring (I myself did too). Theres nothing much for them to do there, its mainly walking which will lead to cranky kids lol.

I think that Kidcot will help and there are also character appearances throughout the day. DS used to enjoy some of the entertainment but it's not as good as it once was. That is unless they might enjoy chainsaws. ;)

This is our kids. I know people love it, but we could skip it. We've been twice and both times it was extremely hot (heatwave at the end of Aug & 2 wks ago).

Our kids just don't find it engaging. It's pretty shadeless, a lot of walking & they don't like the food (except GG & icecream from France :D).

I honestly don't see the appeal either. I lived in Europe & visited many of the countries in WS & don't need an Eiffel tower souvenir from Florida.

I don't drink or like to shop so I think that's part of the problem. We always end up cranky & at odds with each other.

DHS OTOH we *love*. Just different strokes. Which is a good thing :).

My daughter was 5 or 6 on our first trip, and she loved Epcot. It's her favorite park to this day. She really did enjoy the Kidcot stations. You can also buy a "passport" and have it stamped at each of the Kidcot stations. She also loved trying treats at the different countries. Pastries in France and Norway, Kaki Gori in Japan, Crepes in France, etc.

Back at Future World, she enjoyed the Piggy Bank Adventure (is that what it's called?) in Innoventions. She liked the velcro one too - is that still there?

I wouldn't totally rule out WS. My kids were 2 and 4 their first trip, and they both loved all of Epcot! They enjoyed the countries and trying some snacks (not a lot; DS has food allergies). There are kidcot stations in the countries, and they used to LOVE to do the coloring at them and talking to people from other countries a bit too!
My DD liked trying a treat of candy or something from a couple countries.
Too bad Maelstrom is gone :(
My DH and I do like to drink, so it's nice to try beers and such from other places.
I would say with very young kids and a 16 year old, you're going to want to split up a lot to please everyone!

My older boys just love Epcot, but my 2yo enjoyed it too. We rode the Mexico boat ride multiple times, and spent a very long time admiring the trains in Germany. And while not tall enough to ride Test Track, he probably had more fun than anyone sitting in the cars in the showroom at the end. He would have happily spent the entire day in there. He also loved Nemo and spaceship earth.

My nieces and nephews have always loved WS since they were little, with the kids asking to go around multiple times in one trip. Kidcot was alway popular, we've also done the passport and by where you get the park map you can get the character paper letting you know when each character will be out.

Figment is also cute for little ones

My daughter (2) also was bored in WS. She has a lot of fun in FW in the Seas and Innoventions. It was hot, so WS was like torture.

This kind of confuses me.

Full disclosure: I have not visited WDW when it was VERY hot (our trips were January, October and November). I don't think it's been above 90 degrees, although we did have one October trip when it was unusually hot and humid.

Regardless, there are so many indoor shops, activities (movies), and eateries in WS. Certainly, you have to be outside to walk from country to country, but when I think of time spent in WS, much of it is spent indoors.

This wasn't the first comment to mention being hot in WS. I am wondering whether those posters explored all the indoor options in WS?

I know about the indoor shops, but most of them aren't interesting to/appropriate for a 2 year old who likes to touch things. And to get from one land to another in August-there is zero shade along the walk. Like baking in a giant open oven!

Never visited with a 2 year old, nor in August. I will defer to you on those! :)

This was our case as well. 2 goofy 5 year olds & shops do not mix well. & yes we too felt like it was a giant oven. In August the feel-real was 114!!!! We couldn't escape the sun.

Maybe if I had time to explore properly & it didn't open right when the hottest part of the day started it'd grow on me...

We like to park hop to the WS part of Epcot in the evening after a break at the hotel. We do this a couple of evenings during the trip and find it quite enjoyable. My kids love Kidcot and Agent P. They also like snacks from the different country's. If you have a Pokemon or Hello Kitty fan make sure to stop in the Japan shop. :)
